I am Doccath's DBF with DS15 and DS13....Can't believe we are almost there! I think I have been signed up for the fish extender secret santa....doccath is always signing me up for things....so what is it and what do I need to do to participate?!?
I am so excited and we have such a big trip planned, we are super psyched and doccath may even let me drive!
We would love to meet in Disney Land and I also do not care for the Celtics!

Yes, your awesome DBF has signed you up for the Fish Extender Gift Exchange! The FE Gift Exchange is sort of like a Secret Santa Gift Exchange. Everyone hangs something outside of their cabin door from a silver fish message clip, thus the name "Fish Extender" (because you are extending the capability of DCL's silver fish clip). Actual Fish Extenders can range from simple paper gift bags to beautiful elaborate cloth "letter holder" hangars. (I've used a small cloth navy blue nautical bag I found at the Dollar Tree.) Then, everyone who is participating in the FE Gift Exchange picks a time during the cruise to go around the ship and put a surprise (or surprises) in everyone else's Fish Extender!

Here's a breakdown of how it works:
A WEEK BEFORE THE CRUISE:
*Print off the list of participants' cabin numbers (I will PM this to you) and be sure to pack it in your suitcase. You'll need the cabins numbers to know where to deliver your gifts.
*Purchase (or make) your surprises. You can do one gift per cabin, or one gift per person in each cabin, or little gift bags, or whatever you'd like. The possibilities are endless.
*Make or purchase a "Fish Extender" to hang from your cabin's silver metal fish message clip to hold the goodies you receive. Any kind of bag will work.
DURING THE CRUISE:
*Pick a day/time to deliver your surprises to every cabin on the list by putting your gifts into everyone's "Fish Extenders"! This is a lot of fun!
*Enjoy all the little surprises you find in your own Fish Extender! This is even MORE fun!

I won't post anything on this thread that you don't want revealed - only the gift exchange participants will receive confidential information. However, names are very helpful for personalized gifts, and I know of at least two people who are personalizing theirs.

Me, I have been waiting patiently...not...for our stateroom assignment. Finally got it!

We are right across from the aft elevators on Deck 6...

Anyway, now my engines are moving and I am really getting stoked about our cruise. Maybe even more than the girls!!!

Well, I guess like everybody else, we too have been busy. I can't believe that we sail one month from today. I have been trying to figure out what we are going to pack.I have to admit that I am one of those over packers. I can't stand to not bring something I might need. Still have to get our formalwear set too. The girls are done, but we have to see if DH's tux fits and I need to go shopping!

On top of everythin, my youngest DD fell this morning and broke her wrist. Luckily it's only a mignor Saulter 1 fracture of the growth plate. She has to wear a cast for 3 weeks. Thankfully the cast will be off before the cruise. Now we have to see if the doctor will allow her to zipline.

Well, gotta go now. I'm taking oldest DD to the Panic at the Disco concert. Hope everybody is getting all of their prep done!

Wow, you are going to have an amazing time...me and 2 of my friends went to the A Fever You Can't Sweat Out tour in December '06. PATD is from Vegas, so they can really put on a great show. Post some pictures when you get back

Hello All

Well, I am beginning to think about making a fish extender.

The weekends keep coming and going and other chores get in the way. Getting together some nice little items for the fish gifts. The girls need a few clothing items and shoes.

Sorry, Carole88, to hear about your younger daughter's wrist! Good thing she'll have it off by the cruise, that is a blessing.

The PATD concert was very good. I didn't bring a camera so I have no pictures to post. Sorry! The band had a great time since they were home. They even wrote most of the new album at The Palms where the concert was held.

My youngest DD's wrist is starting to feel a little better. Thank goodness the cast will be off before we cruise. She would have been miserable if it were still on.


Still trying to figure out what to get for the fish extenders. Got my FE off of Ebay. It looks great! Makes the cruise seem even closer!

We are all getting so excited, and working on our ideas for the fish extenders. But it does seem like a crazy time of year, and chores are getting in the way of planning...which only makes it feel like it's just around the corner! Which it is! Loved the pictures from the Magic, can't wait to be on board again!
