July 12, 2011 - Sailing to Alaska is WONDERful style!!!

Well hubby and I have decided to take a 4 night Bahama cruise without the kids for valentines day/anniversary for the two of us with out the kids. I sure hope its as fun as the members. Anyone been to the Bahamas? Not sure if the kids will like it or not, but some place I always wanted to see. =) Hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday. I spent mine working. (People are still sick on holidays)

If everyone can wait until Feb 14 I can make a facebook page. I did it for our last cruise and it worked really well. We just didn't have a big group to start with. I'd make one right away but I am positive my wife would see it and she would figure out we are going. If someone else wants to make it I will join after the 14th. Otherwise I will have it all ready to go then. Just let me know.
Anyone who wants to chat there sometime please send me a friend request. Brian Marx, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Can't wait to meet you all!

Sounds great - thanks for doing it! I am on FB too!

We did the 4 night Bahama cruise a little over a year ago. We had the girls with us and we did a walking tour: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/newprovidence/0251010008.html

It was nice to be able to do it at our leisure. You can find the same type of trip on a tour bus. It was interesting.

Sounds good to me too. We have added to our group. My parents are coming as well. I surprised them at Thanksgiving with the announcement.
Things should start to pick up soon.

Looking forward to a wonderful 2010!

I think it will really pick up once they announce the available shore excursions =)

I like the facebook group idea as well....
only 530 days - but who is counting right!!

I love the idea of the FB page!!

We are starting to spread out our passport applications now, so just little prep for the cruise keeps the excitement alive!

The facebook page is up. I know some people don't want all the information out there so I made it a closed group. You can find the page under "Wildest Cruise in the West." If you have problems just let me know. I am on facebook. Brian Marx, Milwaukee, WI. Can't wait to meet all of you!

Hi everyone! We booked on the first day, but first some strange reason I forgot to look at the meets section. Too busy concentrating on my disneyland trip in December and my upcoming baltic cruise (my fourth disney cruise).

This will be my families 5th cruise with disney. It will be 5 of us...dh, moi, and 3 sons, 15,12,9 (ages at time of cruise!).

I grew up in Vancouver and my parents still live there so I go there often. My family and I currently live just across the water in sunny Victoria (Vancouver Island).

Any Vancouver questions anyone might have, I'll try to answer.

Great to meet you all.

Anyone going to the baltics too?

Brian,
Thanks for starting the FB page!! I can't wait!! The Cruise Critic Alaska Board is heating up for the 2010 season, so good planning ideas there for ports!

We'll be on both. This time the boys will be with us for Alaska.

I am curious if anyone packaged their cruise with one of the Fairmont Hotels and what the price was. It looks like Disney has added some information to the website about transportation and I am thinking if it is worth booking one of those hotels the night before to have the transfer to the port and sounds like they might take care of baggage at hotel, before get to port?

Just curious what the hotels were going for!

Good Morning everyone!!! I miss posting here so I will post here and on the FB site - just so if anyone NEW comes along we can get them involved.

It is May 2 and we are 435 Days from Sailaway.

I have begun to research things to do at each stop. There are some fun events to be done on our own - so I wonder what Disney will set up?

I have been following the Mediterranean cruise going on now. We were originally booked this summer on that cruise...

Hope everyone starts drying out in the Mid South today... we are in for a wet afternoon here.

I have been doing some research too and ordered the visitors guide from Juneau and Ketchikan.

I was glad to hear that we still would get Pirate night, even without the fireworks. I heard no fireworks and thought that might me no Pirates. So excited, less than a year until our payment is due!

Did not even think of ordering individual city guides.... back to google I go.

I am starting to brainstorm on FE gifts now.. I would like to start those this summer.

Excellent idea on ordering individual visitor guides. I'll have to do that too!

Oh my! That is getting an early start. I wish I could knit. I think scarves would be great! (Am I hinting? Do you knit?) :rotfl: Do the nights get cool in Alaska in the summer?
