Hi Amy

It's great to have you join us. Is Matt having his own Fish Extender outside his own stateroom or will he be sharing one with you or your mom and dad? The stateroom number I put on the list needs to be where his fish extender pocket will be for the gifts to be delivered.

Thanks

Hi All

I have attached a link in my signature shown at the bottom of each of my messages to the Fish Extender List for easy access. Just click on the link and it will take you straight to the list.

There have been some new families join the list in the last week but it would be great for some other families to join us. If you would like to be added to the list, just send me a quick message with your details and I'll add you on.

When does everybody think would be a good idea to close the list? I was thinking June 11th then it gives us a month to finish up buying or making the gifts. Let me know if this sounds OK or whether you would need more time than this.

Speak to you all soon.

Hi

First time on a cruise, first real family holiday :) We're all getting very excited.

Our family name is Walshe, we have no allergies (that we know about). It does happen to be our wedding anniversary (15th) during the trip so I'm sure that we will have a celebration that night. Our stateroom is 5156.

Thanks
Marcus

Hi Marcus

That's great and so exciting for you. I bet your kids are really looking forward to it. It is our second Disney Cruise but our first Fish Extender experience, we didn't know about it last time.

Have you started booking any excursions? We're only doing one in Grand Cayman and the rest of the time we're going to just explore ourselves. We're looking forward to Castaway Cay this time as last time we cruised we were practically following Hurricane Sandy around the Caribbean and it rained the whole time!! Disney were great though and put on loads of extra activities back on the ship. It was just such a shame that we didn't manage to explore Castaway Cay as we would have liked.

I'll complete all of the missing details you've given me on the list and add on that it is your 15th Wedding Anniversary. Make sure that you put it on your booking somewhere and you could receive something as a momento. Also, tell your server in the dining room and they should bring you something special after your meal!! We're cruising to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday so I have booked him and my mum into Remy for the Champagne Brunch on the first day whilst we have a day at sea as their birthday present (it is both their birthdays within 2 days of each other a couple of weeks before sailing!). I've put on the booking that it is their birthday so they should get a nice surprise.

Speak soon.

Hi Jessica

Thanks for the info, I'll look into how to make a note on the booking. We haven't booked any excursions yet, we're still looking through the activities, there is so much choice I'm still trying to decide on what to do. Kids are not helping, they want to do everything :) Does anyone have any recommendations of any activity is a must? I'm hoping to do some adult dining but I need to fins out about child care/clubs in the evening.

That sounds like an "interesting" experience outrunning Sandy, I have read that the cruise ships can stay ahead of hurricanes so I'm trying not to worry too much about that.

Yeah, they wouldn't put the ship in any danger. If it was not safe they would go to different ports.

I'm pretty sure the kids club operates in the evening. I know there is a system where the kids club carers come to the dining room to pick up any kids wanting to go back with them after their meal so the parents can carry on rather than one havimg to take them and then come back. Have you had a look on the disney cruise line website? If you can't find anything, let me know and I'll email the disney cruise agent I've been liaising with about other things on our cruise, she has been really helpful.

I have never been on any of the trips before so cant recommend any. I do know that the good ones get booked up early though so don't leave it too long.

Hi Marcus

I've checked the Personal Navigators that I kept from our last cruise and the kids clubs are open until Midnight or 1am on some nights. Hope that helps.

Jessica

Thanks for checking Jessica, that's good to know :)

Sounds like we can all have fun in the evenings, I was worried we would be all cabin bound from 20:00.

Marcus

No way, there is loads to do!! The shows in the evening are amazing too, you don't want to miss those!! Also, there's family karaoke in one of the lounges until about midnight and movies in the cinema and character meet and greets. If you go to the cabin at 8pm you'll miss loads.

If you get your messages up to 10 you can use the conversation option at the top of the page to send messages privately. If you can do that I'll scan some of the personal navigators from our last cruise and attach them to a message to you so that you have a better idea of the activities throughout the day. There's a thread where you can post one word or one letter messages to get your messages sent up to 10, it's called DIS technical support/test board.

Hi Jessic
SIGN UP TO THE FISH EXTENDER LIST FOR DISNEY FANTASY WESTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE SAILING JULY 11, 2015.

As time is getting closer to our sailing date, I am going to take the lead in organising the FE list for our cruise. As stated in my post above, this is the first time that I have taken part in the FE so if anybody has any advice please speak up!!

I've had a look on some of the other threads and they seem to be limiting lists to around 15 staterooms before starting a new list. Personally, I really like this idea as we are travelling from the UK and so too many FE gifts in our suitcase may take up all of the weight allowance leaving no room for clothes!!! What does everyone else think?

Please reply to let me know all the following details;

Stateroom number
Family name
Names of everyone in your stateroom
Ages
Allergies, special occasions, favourite characters, etc.

Kris - DH
Tonya - DW
Blake - DS age 14

No allergies, 1st cruise as a new family,

Hi Tonya

Welcome aboard! I'm so glad you joined us for the FE exchange. I was new to this site a month or so ago but I've found it really easy to navigate. If your struggling, just write a note on here and hopefully somebody will be able to help.

I have added your details onto the FE list. When you say that you're not sure how it works, do you mean the fish extender exchange? If so, let me know and I will give you an explanation.

It's so exciting that it's your first cruise as a new blended family. I bet you're all really excited especially since you're doing it in true Disney style!! As your boys are teenagers, do they have any favourite characters or interests? I think the gifts that I have for the boys will be too young for them and I would like to give them a gift that they will like. If you and Kris have any specific favourite characters too, please let us know.

Speak soon.

Hi Jessica,
I'm working on gathering favorite characters now.
Do people typically bring 1 gift per person?
Thank you
Tonya

Hi Tonya

You can either do one gift for each person or one cabin gift for everyone to share. Take a look on message #24 and click on the link to the fish extender information. The gifts don't have to be expensive and can be bought or homemade. They could be disney themed or state/country themed. Let me know if you need any other help.

Some people do gifts for kids and then one for the adults to share.

thanks
Amy
