I had actually gone to sleep much earlier but woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so I came online. I wasn't up too long and now I'm up and dressed and ready to face the day.

We were wondering what nights of the cruise there were. I havn't been on a 5 day and I'm not sure what to tell the first time cruisers. Which nights are there on this cruise? Is there 1 normal night in each dining room, pirate night, and golden mickeys/formal night?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see after the first one comes back. I think they've only had one 5 night cruise, right after the Panama Canal Repo cruise, and I looked for a Meets thread &/or trip report and gave up after the first 20 pages.

For certain sure, they will have one formal night, one pirate night, and one semi-formal. My guess is the other three will be cruise casual...but I don't know which nights they'll have pirate and formal night on.

Make sure that people know that if they're going to Palo one night, they need to bring some kind of semi-formal outfit for that also....unless they go to Palo on a formal or semi-formal night in one of the regular dining rooms.

1 Formal outfit
2 Semi-formal...if I don't go to Palo, I can still wear the other semi at main dining
2 Casual outfits (or one casual, one pirate)
1 Outfit for the wedding

I agree with Stacey that we really won't know until the first 5 night comes back. I will say however that I doubt they will have both a formal and semi-formal night. The Wonder cruises are much more casual and only have one what they call "dress up night" on a 4 night cruise. The rest are all cruise casual.

So I would say two semi-formal outfits that could be used for a dressier night, Palo, or a night in Triton's (which tends to have a more formal feel than the other two restaurants. The rest I would go cruise casual.

Cruise casual being defined as Dockers/Polo shirts for guys and sundresses, pant suits, or nicer capri outfits for women.

Ahhh...good point, Mary. I've got the Magic cruises stuck in my head! It's been a long time since we've done one of the shorter cruises.

So nothing "formal-formal"? That's fine by me! That means as Father of the Bride, Virgil's the only one of the guys who has to bring a monkey suit.

First time cruiser here! Want to take my DD for her 10th b'day. She is such an awesome kid!! My DH and I foster parents and our daughter shares not only her room and toys but most importantly her parents with kids who don't have the priviledge of good parents. Wanted to do something special for her!

And somewhere I thought I saw that the golden mickeys were being retired. to be replaced with.....ok, can't remember that....

Just googled... It is being replaced with Once Upon a Song which is billed as a "concert-style performance features both classic and modern Disney favorites," performed by cast members from the Walt Disney Theatre.
