**JULY 11, 2010*** Double Dip Wonder!

Ahhh...good point, Mary. I've got the Magic cruises stuck in my head! It's been a long time since we've done one of the shorter cruises.

So nothing "formal-formal"? That's fine by me! That means as Father of the Bride, Virgil's the only one of the guys who has to bring a monkey suit.

Gee - what will we do with all the extra space - no formal clothes, no scuba gear......????????????

First time cruiser here! Want to take my DD for her 10th b'day. She is such an awesome kid!!:littleangel: My DH and I foster parents and our daughter shares not only her room and toys but most importantly her parents with kids who don't have the priviledge of good parents. Wanted to do something special for her!

Welcome aboard! Many of us have cruised before (and many have cruised together) so feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Sounds like one less suitcase at least! :thumbsup2

How awesome!! A Disney cruise is definitely very special! She's a lucky girl.

And welcome, welcome, welcome!!!!

Pay no attention to any answers I might give you, my brain seems to have disappeared as of late.

Sounds great to me! :thumbsup2 I fly from Florida to San Francisco for 4 days after the cruise, so less is more!
I'll bring my mask (prescription) and snorkel, just not the fins.

Thanks for the big welcome! Somehow I feel more ease in navigating this process. Booked a million land vacations here and abroad but for some reason this feels like uncharted waters! I currently have an inside stateroom on hold til Thursday when I plan on making it official. Any thoughts on the second deck?

We are VERY excited to experience a new part of Disney. :dance3: My husband and I got married in the WDW wedding chapel 10 yrs ago. I think that was his first time at Disney. I was blessed to have parents that took us to Disneyland shortly after it opened and have been hooked since! My mom now lives in Florida and we get to WDW every chance we get (at least once a year!).

We are from the metro Detroit area. Currently my DH is working in SC. Not sure how long that will be. Any other posters from around here?

There is a great feature on these boards - FAQ - Tons of info...it even has a link to stateroom pictures so you can get a look at the actual room, not just the catagory....and of course you can always ask us. Many of these folks have cruised lots....

As for what deck and what type of room - that is a very personal choice - a balance between the budget and the rooms that are available when you book, I say any room on the Magic or Wonder is better than any room NOT on the Magic or Wonder. Being on deck 2 is a positive if your family is prone to motion sickness. You will only have one - two flights to get to most resturants, the lobby and the shops. This is good. You can walk down after dinner when you are stuffed..:rotfl: Easier than walking up....Some folks like being on higher decks and closer to deck 9 and the pools.....As I said it is a personal choice. An inside room will be dark with the lights out. An outside room will have more light and some come with balconies, but the trade-off is price. How much time will you actually spend in the room is also a consideration. With everything there is to do on a FIRST SAILING, you may find you are only in your room to sleep - after all we are on Castaway Cay two times.

I'm a Florida gal, so not from where you hail.

And welcome again.

Planning on flapping your feets are ya?:rotfl2:

I think I gave away my extra set of fins....I could grab them back - maybe - perhaps -- what size shoe do you wear? (you can PM if that is tooooooo private of a question.....)
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

YAY!!!! I'm so excited!! I got MY dress for the wedding. It fits really nicely and is light as a feather....so hopefully I won't be out there sweating to death. ;) Had a hard time finding something that wasn't too "young" or too old.....

What do you think??

So in honor of my 30,000 post I've paid off the cruise! Now I'm ready for booking come March! :cheer2:

I agree with Irene that stateroom and deck location is a personal choice. Our favorite is where we are on this cruise. Deck 7 aft in a Navigator's verandah. Speaking of which that's the only think I don't like about the new Dream - no Navigator's.

I think Garry is closest to you. My DH Mark and I live just north of Chicago.

Very pretty! My dress is one I've worn before but since none of you were on that cruise I should be fine. :lmao:

I paid mine today, too! Great minds, I guess. :thumbsup2

I really didn't have much in my closet that was what I needed for being outdoors. I have formal-formal stuff, and sweaters and skirts, but nothing like a sundress. Plus, I've lost just enough weight that a lot of my old things kind of "hang" on me. I haven't lost nearly ENOUGH weight, though...if you know what I mean!

Irene....Seahorse Snorkel, 2nd day at Castaway Cay?? I'm planning on it. Probably the 1st one in the morning, and then lounge in the afternoon.

Amazing how we get buried on page two in just a few short hours!

Especially with you here.....
