**JULY 11, 2010*** Double Dip Wonder!

Next Shuttle launch attempt is 4:40 AM (central time) Wednesday morning. Weather is 80% go at this point.

Ooooo....on Jay's birthday. Very cool. I hope the weather cooperates.:woohoo:
I wonder if we'll get HIM to show up on this thread. Probably about the time Frances and Kristin do. :rolleyes2

Endeavour to Launch Wednesday Morning
Tue, 16 Jun 2009 02:20:55 PM EDT

Space shuttle Endeavour is in launch position at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida following rollback of the Launch Pad 39A rotating service structure.

Endeavour is scheduled to lift off at 5:40 a.m. EDT Wednesday, beginning its STS-127 mission. At 1:15 p.m. today, clocks began counting back from T-11 hours toward launch.

The mission management team is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. to give the "go/no-go" to begin loading Endeavour's external fuel tank with liquid propellants. With managers' approval, fueling will begin at 8:15 p.m.

Launch weather looks good, with an 80 percent chance of favorable conditions forecast for the final hours of the countdown.

And in case you don't have enough - stay tuned for Thursday.....

As a result of the rescheduling of space shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 mission for June 17, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite are now set to lift off together aboard an Atlas V rocket on Thursday, June 18.

There will be three launch opportunities from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida at 5:12 p.m., 5:22 p.m. and 5:32 p.m. EDT.

Came in at 10:00pm for a late shift to watch the launch... but same problem with the tanking.... so another scrub :sad2:

And I'm all set to watch it. Guess I'll just have to go to work now.

Me too - I am up....Just checked Nasa - best to be safe...

Space shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 launch today was officially scrubbed at 1:55 a.m. EDT when the same type of gaseous hydrogen leak was detected at the Ground Umbilical Carrier Plate, or GUCP. This is the same location where a similar leak resulted in a launch scrub on June 13.

Sam just called to wake me up - he did not know it was scrubbed....he does now.

Unlike Jim, I think I will go back to bed for another 1/2 hour...

I was up overnight and saw Nick's post so I was able to tell Mark the launch was scrubbed and he turned off the extra early alarm.

Here's hoping they can find the problem. Nick did I read the next launch date would be sometime mid-July?

I am no rocket scientist, but I am familiar with these terms......:lmao:

I heard that the team that fixed the other leak had not been assigned to this Shuttle??? Hopefully, it will have a real good inspection before launch.

So Space Monkey.....after you and your beloved have been married for a while.....and the first baby comes, who's your pick for the Grandma who comes to help.....Frances or Nancy?? :rotfl:;):rotfl: I figure I'm safe in discussing them, since neither of them DIS.
I wish Frances or Vicki were here with us now. ::yes::

Apparently when troubleshooting this particular leak area, they can't connect it directly to the shuttle until they begin the whole 'tanking' procedure. So they have whats supposed to be a replica fixture in one of the buildings that they fit it to. After the first launch scrub, they had it working with the replica piece, so they thought they were ready.

The second launch attempt the leak was a lot slower but they had no phsyical indication that it was actually a leak... it could have just been faulty software or sensor detecting a leak. So now they have a lot more stuff to start troubleshooting.
