So Nick, do you have any desire at all to go up there too? In space, that is.

Yeah, definately! Now can I justify it? No... Pretty much your only way in is to be retired from the military (with a high rank, high honors, pilot skills, or some crazy background) or be rediculously smart and have about 4 PHD's... Soon there will be a third option of doing 'space tourism' where private companies will just sell tickets to fly you into space (no way I will ever be able to afford one of those).

Even once the astronauts are up there, they have a packed schedule. Their days are laid out to the minute, what they are doing, when they can eat, when they can sleep, etc... its not really as glorious as it seems from the outside. Would it be cool? OMG yes... can I see dedicating the next 20 years of my life to the military or lots and lots of schooling? no cause even after that theres no guarantee... I'm just not motivated enough, so being this close is good enough for me.

You must have missed my post while you were off romancing your wife.
I had bloodwork done and my LIVER is 100% perfect. So I put it in writing that if something happens to me, my liver is yours. So there....that's better than coffee.
Jim told me to take my crummy knees with me though.
