**JULY 11, 2010*** Double Dip Wonder!

Good Morning everyone. Quick question, for those who have sailed DCL in the past. On one of the threads they post about beer mug "etiquette". Some feel you can not bring your beer mug ticket on another cruise. Personally, I've asked a few CM and have received the same reply~ it's fine. So I plan on bringing my mug ticket. Don't want to start a whole big thing over this, but for the prices we pay, and the amount of times we cruised, I think it's a little perk. But that's just me. pirate: I have 4 or 5 DCL mugs at home already and didn't want to risk breaking another one. Now with the ticket/voucher it seems they are OK with this. Kinda don't ask don't tell. Any thoughts?

PS~ Happy Birthday Mary :)

Personally, I'm all about saving money where I can. Or at least getting the most out of the money I already have spent, as in your case. I'd say go ahead. If it works, then great. The bartenders may tell you if it's outdated or whatever, but it's worth a shot.
But then, I'm one of those who would take my hotel mug back to Disneyland to reuse, too. I suppose that's not proper etiquette, but if they don't want people to do that, then they should lower their outrageous prices.

Lots of people on the Main Disney Boards will tell you it's tacky to bring your own glass of wine to dinner....but I do it, and I know there are at least a few others here who do it also. And then there's the guy (not mentioning names;)) who even brings his own personal carafe. More power to 'em!!:thumbsup2

I knew we'd get with the kewl group :thumbsup2 BTW I love my Wilderness Lodge mug! Now it's a classic ;)
But why is is tacky to bring your own drink dinner? We're about saving money where we can in order to enjoy other things. Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy :lmao: well I guess that's relative eh?

A lot of people on the Main Boards will tell you that you're somehow "cheating" your server or the cruiseline out of the money they'd get for a corkage fee if you brought a bottle for them to open, or the cost of buying a bottle at dinner. I don't agree with them. And that's why all my DIS friends keep telling me to stay off the main boards...before I get myself in trouble!

Best of luck to you and your DH! I've been there twice (out of work) and it isn't fun.

I'm there now, and would definitely agree. I may have to act as a cabana boy and work for tips while I'm on the cruise. I'll bring a wine opener too, and hide everyone elses, then people have to pay me a corking fee. It's brilliant!

You're always getting in trouble anyway... you should be used to it by now.

Just when I was starting to feel for you, and have my $5 bills ready.....

You have to go and insult me! But you're right. :guilty::rolleyes1

WE bring wine - and we tip very well if we have good service. On the Panama Cruise, we had wine at every meal and at the last night we carted in a bottle of champagne - courtesy of a (don't say it Jim) friendly bartender. Our servers were the BEST as was our head waiter - no comments about the wine and I tipped very well, I must say. Had I been paying a $15. corkage fee we would not have been ordering the wine - so it is not a trade off for me.

Just my thoughts HERE and not on the MAIN boards.

First off... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!! :flower3:

Second.....I CAN'T wait to be in the next group picture!

Third.... some bittersweet news - my husband's contract in SC will end at the end of this month so he wil be coming home () but won't have a job to come home to (:sad1:). He isn't needed for this next phase of the project but may be needed in 6 months (or less). Thank God I have a majority of the cruise paid for already! Nothing is going to stop me from sailing with you guys in July! I will figure this outand make it happen:rolleyes:

Keep your fingers crossed that something pans out here for him in the meantime. And pray that we all make a smooth adjustment from a 7 month absence from the family. :grouphug:

Adding luck, wishes, pixie dust and prayers for your DH. These are tough times.

AND SPEAKING OF MEETING UP....WHERE\/WHEN IS OUR DISMEET.

HEY STACEY - CAN YOU ADD THE LIST TO THE FRONT PAGE...OR DID YOU DO IT AND I DID NOT LOOK???:rotfl:

I'll do it...hopefully will remember to do it tomorrow. We have a late afternoon wedding today, so I'm wrapped up helping a couple of the girls get ready here.
I don't have all the names of all of the cruisers, though. There are quite a few family members who aren't on here. I guess I'll just do the ones of us that are here.

Stacey - looks like you need to remove one of your tickers. There was a thread on the main page that one of the locations (I'm thinking the one you were using) is blocked because of a virus they found.

Edited to add - I see the DIS has tickers now. Gee that only took them 10 years that I know of.:lmao: :lmao:

Hedgie was told she used a censored word...it was magical (no space) kingdom ticker. I guess I need to search for the Disney ticker location:confused3 or the main thread :scared1:

Could not book the Frangepani....

Will have to wait a while to book mine....I totally forgot about DCL wanting us to be paid in full first. We're not quite there yet.

I may be sitting outside Palo, eating a hot dog and staring longingly at you all.
