July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

It was snowing here today too! At least it was just flurries, but enough is enough! For the dolphin encounter, if you can't get it through Disney, can you book it independently? I know some places will not let cruise passengers book directly through them, so I don't know if this is the case or not.

Blue Lagoon will not let cruise passengers book directly -- but if you want to circumvent that just don't say you are a cruise passenger unless they ask directly -- just follow the excursion passengers to the boat you take over (I never said this by the way). You shouldn't have too much trouble booking though.

Are you going down early??? We are doing seaworld on the 8th then heading to County Inn on the 9th.

We are arriving the night before and staying at Port Orleans-FQ. Emily is going to BBB DTD for a hairdo.

Hi everyone! Thought it was time I said hello to all instead of just following along. My family of 5 can't wait for the cruise in July! Since we are almost at double digits, I can finally start to get excited! It will be myself, DH45, DD21 (we will be celebrating her 21st birthday on our first CC day), DS19 and DS 18. This will be mine and DH's 7th Disney cruise and the kids 4th. Can't wait :woohoo:

Thank you!

By the way, do we get a list right before the cruise or is there a site we go to to view the list?

I'll try to post the list here on the thread every few weeks so we can all keep track of how many people we have signed up; in early June I'll send everyone a final list with all the details (names, cabin #s, etc). Someone on our April cruise created a cruise website where we are posting/reviewing all our cruise-related details but I haven't quite figured out how to do that myself.

Here's the FE list so far:

btmommy - Colleen, DH, DS3, DD1
camikey - Carol, DD5 Destiny
CrozB4 - Amy, w/DH, DD13, DS11
DisneyZell - Deanna, Drew, DS12 Nick, DS9 Connor
LV Disney Fan(atic) - Dany, Joe, DD16 Sami
marukochan - w/DH, DS9, DS4
policycobb - w/DD6 Emily

Welcome! We seem to be having lots of birthdays on this cruise - my DD will be celebrating her 16th birthday on our second CC day. :goodvibes

I just realized we can start booking excursions NEXT MONTH! :cool1:

I realized I should probably pay off the cruise before DH has his meeting with the accountant on Thursday and we find out just how much we owe in taxes. He always (understandably) gets a little freaky about $$$ about our annual meeting with the CPA.

Maybe that will increase my chances of pixie dust for my GTY!

I can't believe the 90 day mark is coming up so quickly! I have it on my calendar to pay on the 9th so I can start booking! Luckily we got a refund from the IRS, so that really helps!

Thanks LV Disney Fan for keeping us updated on the F/E signups. That helps a lot...did we decide May 31 was going to be the cut-off for sign ups?

Yes, I'd like to use May 31 as the cutoff if that's ok with everyone. I want to give us enough time to get things together, but not cut off so early that we leave people out who find us later.

DVCTigger - I saw that you asked about the La Quinta Cocoa Beach on the main board (no, I'm not a stalker - I just spend way too much time on the boards every day reading threads :)). I haven't stayed there yet but we have reservations for the night before our cruise, after we spend a couple of nights at Universal. It has a shuttle to the port, gets pretty good reviews on Trip Advisor, and sits right on the beach. We're looking forward to staying there!

FYI.... :littleangel:There is a candle light vigil going on around the globe in honor of the missing crew member on last weeks sailing of the Wonder. It will be Sunday April 3rd 8 PM to 9 PM. Anyone interested should put a candle in their window.:littleangel:

Dining times on the Dream have been changed to 5:45 pm and 8:15 pm. There are now 2 nightly shows, instead of 3. Guests with Main dining will attend the 8:30 show; guests with Second dining will attend the 6:15 show.

I just saw that. Funny though in previous threads they were saying how there were people standing to watch the shows. Now that there are only two, how will that work?

Also, does anyone one know how to go about getting a cake for my daughter on her bday?

That's why I asked, we will be staying there pre-cruise as well!! I was just wondering if anyone had stayed there to see what they thought. We got the reservation through Hotwire. Good to hear you have seen some good reviews. We are hoping to enjoy the beach a little after we get in. Well I guess we will either love it or hate it together!!

We celebrated my sister's birthday on DCL three years ago and when I made the reservations we noted it was her birthday. Just make sure it is noted on your reservations and talk to your server once on board.

It is on there. I've read that they no longer do cake unless you purchase it extra. She'll be happy to just have them sing to her.

We are still waiting for our cruise documents. hope they get here soon. DH and myself are so excited that this will be our first cruise with our son who will be 5 months old.

Its our first cruise too! We have had so much help with all the information we got from here. We have picked up some great tips
