Julie's Jolly Journey (posts welcome)- I'm back...

Hi Julie!
Congratulations on your continued weight loss! :Pinkbounc You are doing a great job!!

I know what you mean about needing some motivation to exercise. When I started FIRMing in January, this was my second time at it. I told myself that if I commited myself to 10 workouts and saw some results, I would keep doing the program. (There motto is "Results in 10 workouts or less" or something like that...;) ) I did see results. I felt stronger and leaner. Well, as the story goes, I am still FIRMing 5 months later and I am adding in new workouts to challenge my muscles.

If you are going to purchase the complete system, I would suggest Body Sculpting System 2. This is the one with the Sculpting Stick and the Fanny Lifter. In this set, there is a video called, Maximum Cardio Burn + Abs. In this video, you only need the fanny lifter and sculpting stick; no extra weights. It's a fun video, but it took me awhile to get some of the moves down. There is also a 30 minute video called Cardio Sculpt Blaster that you can get at Walmart for around $8. In this video, you need the fanny lifter and 3-5 pound weights. (Remember, beginners use no weight at all.) Some of the moves are challenging, but it is quick and efficient.

If you have a chance, you may want to check your local library and see if they have any FIRM videos that you can preview. When I was trying to make my decision last year as to whether to purchase the system or not, I tried going this route, but the waiting list was like a mile long.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. I'm not an expert, but I would be more than happy to try and answer them for you. ::yes::

Have a great day Julie! Remember, Onederland is just around the corner!!:Pinkbounc

Wow didn't realize how long since I had last posted- I'm home sick today so taking the chance to catch up on some journals.
Tracy thanks for the additional information on the Firm Videos. I went ahead and got 2 Calorie Killer and Maximum Abs something? Not sure, its downstairs. I'm gonna post some questions in your journal. :sunny:

I am happy to report I have a new shiny clippee and I am that much closer to "Onerland". I met my Independance Day Challenge early .DH treated me to a new hairdo this weekend as an early Birthday present- so I am feeling like a new woman. :teeth:

Have a great day-:Pinkbounc

Hi Julie!
I am sorry to hear that you are sick today, but it is nice to hear from you. Congratulations on the new clippie! :Pinkbounc Way to go on meeting your Independence Day challenge too!:bounce: Keep up the good work!

Feel free to post any questions that you may have about the FIRM. I will do my best to answer them for you. I bought Calorie Killer from Walmart and I love this video. As a matter of fact, it's on my schedule for tomorrow.:teeth:

Have a great week! Hope you start feeling better soon!::yes::

Tracy:wave2:

P.S. I posted an answer to your FIRM question in my journal. Hope it helps!:wave2:

I am happy to report another 2 lb loss, but still 2 lbs away from Onderland! Not sure if I will make it by Tues (my B day) but should by next Sunday's weigh in. Since 7/01 will actually be 4 months- I am pretty pleased with my progress.

I am hoping to keep the weight loss steady- thanks to Tracy's(toystoryduo) encouragement- I am adding Firm workouts to my exercise routine. Workout is the right word! Some of these are pretty tough. But I want to get muscles too, not just lose weight- and I know this is what it will take. So I am going to add goal of getting the exercise clippies also. 5 days a week of firm/treadmill is my exercise goal.

Last week was a great motivator- Lots of people are commenting on how much weight I have loss. It's nice to see my hard work is becoming obvious. :sunny: I know as more pounds come off my body is going to try to hold on- so I'm just gonna have to work that much harder.:teeth:

Hope everyone has a great week-

Hey Julie,
Thanks for the encouraging post in my journal. Your kind words made me feel good. Thank you!::yes::

I'll tell ya Julie... the first few times I do a FIRM video, it is challenging, but it makes the workout goes by so fast as I try to keep up. I didn't workout today and I feel horrible. I will tomorrow!:Pinkbounc

Congratulations on the 2 lb. loss!:jumping1: You never know... maybe the scale will put you in Onederland on your birthday. :bday: Even if it doesn't, you should feel very proud of yourself for all that you have accomplished. ::yes:

Take care and have a great week!

Tracy:wave2:

Hey Julie,

I just read over your last few posts and wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss so far. Isn't is cool when people besides the ones you're living with notice?

Sounds like you are very motivated having already reached your Independence Day goal...I hope I will finally be able to post a loss tomorrow morning when I weigh in. I haven't been able to lose anything for weeks, but I think I found an exercise program that is intense enough for now.

You will be in Onederland before you know it!:cheer2:

Best wishes,
Jean

WOW Julie.. I've been so out of the loop lately but OMG you are doing ONEderfully! You'll hit that Onederland in no time flat!

Tracy:wave2:

Thanks for the birthday wishes Tracy. And Thanks Doe, Jean, Desiree (good to see you posting again) for the extra encourgement.
Didn't make it to Onderland today, probably in part because we went out Monday night for B day dinner -I guessed I would be at work late tonight (and I was). I had my first real- Splurge - no point counting- since I started my diet in March.

We went to Red lobster- I had lobster, some crab legs, Maiu-Maiu. It was all good!:teeth: But I didn't feel stuffed and only ate some of my potato and bread. :hyper:
I did make sure when I got home I put in 35 min on the treadmill, to offset some of that.:p

I have seriously started to do the Firm tapes- so I will be keeping track of which ones I have done. I want to keep track of my progress, right now the plan is to get thru them without dying! Easier said than done.

Tonight I did Cardio Sculpt with Allie for the 1st time- no weights but I know I am gonna feel that ab work in the morning. This was a long tape! But I go thru it - I am having trouble with the feet hand coordination -hopefully that will come with practice. The plan is to Firm one day- treadmill the next -to give my muscles some rest time. If I can walk tomorrow - that is the plan.

:teeth:

Julie, a happy belated birthday!!

Your birthday dinner sounded heavenly!!

Your workout plan sounds like a good one! Don't forget to stretch before you work out if your muscles are tight. We don't want you injured!

Hope your day is filled with :sunny: and muscles that aren't too sore!

Checking in to keep track of my workouts.

Wed night -35 minutes on the treadmill

Thurs- Cardio Scupt with Allie- used 3 lb weights on some of the upper body segments- gotta get working on these flabby arms! I think I'm gonna be kinda sore tomorrow.

My Mom and Sister got here today (Thurs) for "Birthday Week" as we call it. My Bday is 6/29, Sis is 6/30 and DD is 7/1. Weird huh? So we went out tonight for DD's BD dinner- I was good and stuck to Chicken- but I have been slack on counting points- I need to get serious starting tomorrow or I'm never gonna hit Onderland at this rate!

Oops- forgot to post my exercise last night-
35 minutes on the treadmill. I think today will by my rest day- going to go shopping with Mom, Sis, DD today- should get in some walking. LOL
Then tonight our city is doing the Fireworks, so will probably be out late.

Have a great 4th weekend everyone!

Hi Julie!
Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July weekend! Enjoy your shopping trip today!:teeth:

Tracy:wave2:

Happy 4th Everyone!:sunny:

I just got back from church, what a great service. It was mostly music- and special honoring of all the different branches of the service- with a uniformed member for each branch. It was quite moving- and I spent a lot of the service with damp eyes. I want to send out a special prayer today for all on this board for those who are serving, have served and the families. May your 4th be a time of family fellowship and celebration.

Ok, I have a little announcement of my own!

I have made it to ONDERLAND!:jumping1:
I have now lost a total of 51 pounds:bounce:
This puts me over the 1/2 mark on my weight loss journey.
I am also claiming my first week exercise clippe- I made 6 out of 7 days. Yesterday was my rest day- although I got a lot of walking in on our shopping spree. Got some new clothes - Mom made me get a skirt above my knees- "to show off your legs." LOL Gotta love Mom!

I'll be back later to report my exercise.

Have a great day everyone!

Congratulations Julie on getting to Onederland!!! What a marvelous accomplishment. Your hard work is certainly paying off!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
