Julie's continual struggle (WW thread - comments VERY welcome!!)

Wow you sound like you've got a busy few days planned! Hope DS's wisdom teeth don't cause him too much pain.

Have a great time in DC!

First to catch up on Yesterday .....

Breakfast was a Starbucks decaf mocha from the grocery (4)
Lunch berries w/ ff cool whip (2), baked lays (2) lt bread & turkey (2) w/ caffeine free diet mt dew(my last one - time to go back to CO)
Mid afternoon I had ww ice cream (2) and dinner was another baked potato w/ mushrooms, onions, cheese & ff scream(8). Had a 1 pt bar before bed.

DS18 wisdom teeth surgery went fine. Drugs made him loopy, but not tired. He was hyper until about 2 when he crashed. Had to wake him for antibiotics at 6 - then he was just grouchy. After surgery he called a friend(girl) over to watch movies. She spent the afternoon here, then as leaving proceeded to tell me she has filed a restraining order against DS , but wants to w/draw it and the court won't let her, and that he is going to have a lot of legal fees. She says he missed 2 days work when he was in Phx with the car fiasco and is on probation at work, that his new, improved roomies aren't paying anything, that they drive DS car all over, that he's borrowed money from lots of people and not paying it back. Then she proceeded to tell me that 'invincibility' ends when you turn 18. She committed 3 felonies as a minor, but her mom got her off, now that she's 18 she can't do that. Who to believe. Went down to give DS his meds at midnight and she was back, asleep in the recliner. UGH!!!! DS thinks he should be home. Won't follow the Drs instructions on food, drink, etc. This kid is KILLING me!!! It's just a good thing my MIL is dead because he would break her heart. He will listen to nothing, thinks rules aren't for him, and has abandoned his faith. He's a real prodigal who I'm hoping & praying will get straightened out. I'm just tired, depressed and worried. Prayers needed, please.

Enough depressing stuff.......

Tuesday Next week: DD and I will have a light breakfast, shower and pack up. We should arrive in FL about 12:30, but given the trains I've been tracking I"m guessing we'll be an hour late. Hertz will be at the station w/ our car and we'll head to Universal to get our tickets from the Kiosk - I'd rather take the time & pay parking now, than have to do it on the morning of the 4th when we check in to HRH. Then off to not get lost finding my way to DSis in Lakeland. We'll stay Tues/Wed at her house. We'll take it easy tonight, maybe watch one of the movies we brought and maybe take DSis to see "The Perfect Man". DD wants to, but not sure if Dsis will be up to it or if we'll have time depending on when we arrive. DD will spend her time playing with DSis new puppy. I'll also attempt to catch up on WISH and post some from the trip thus far. These 2 days are the only time I'll have a computer until I'm back.

TTNW: This morning DNiece has her Dr. Appt and changed it so DD and I can go with her. DD thinks it's really neat she can go hear the baby. Then both DNieces, DD, DSis & I will go get lunch and hit the mall. DNiece who is getting married I told I"ll take her to Victorias Secret to buy her wedding presents, but she has to try on and pick out. ;) We'll probably make a stop at Tuesday Mornings where Dsis works to see if we NEED anything with her discount. The rest of the day will be doing last minute wedding errands and resting - maybe we'll go for a swim at DNieces and see her nursery. Bed early tonight as tomorrow DD and I get up REALLY early and go to Discovery Cove!! Then DS15 and DH will arrive late tomorrow night.

Today is my liquid day, if stress will let me stay on it. I'm not sure if I'll even make WI tomorrow, but I"m gonna try. More later.....

Thanks for all the encouragement guys!!

oh Julie...I feel your pain...not in the same way...but praying for you for your son...I was reading that thinking of all the stupid things my brother did when he was that age...most of them grow out of it...hopefully yours will too.. :)

I'm so excited for you and your trip to the world....i haven't been on a train since I was 15 and went from indiana to virgina to visit a friend on spring break...it was a fun trip, i loved it!!! :)

well need to go, work to do, but wanted to pop in and say if i miss you before you go HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE on your trip!!!! :goodvibes

hugs to you

JEN :)

Just remembered that I literally FORCED myself to do the WATP 4 mile yesterday. I was depressed and didn't want to, but I did. I'll do the Abs 3 mile today. (That's right just keep telling myself I WILL do it!!!!!!!)

Julie, your DS sounds exactly like my brother at that age too. He got in a mess of trouble, but grew out of it, and is now a father with a beautiful family of his own. He'll figure things out...he may just struggle at little bit more to find his way.

Meanwhile, you have the patience of a saint! Whatever your trick is, you should bottle it and sell it for a million bucks! ;)

Have a a great trip, and enjoy all of that reading on the train!

Just finished the 3 mile ABS WATP. Once DS18 and DD get up, life will get hectic so I decided I'd best do it NOW. DS15 is off to gym and work - I'm not sure how he keeps up that schedule, gone from 8:30 - 9:30 every day, and all on his feet (well, at the gym he on his hands, arms, feet, shoulders, etc). It exhausts me thinking about it. So far today I've had a cup of decaf and 1 Pria shake (3) I'll stick to Pria & Kashi until I take DD to DH to go to fencing, then I'll go get KEVA. By that time it will be near 100 out, and the cold will be wonderful!!

I need to start finalizing my packing plans today, get the last of the Ebay ready to mail tomorrow, and finish cleaning the upstairs.

Hopefully I can work in a hair cut for DD and I at some point, but I don't really want to leave DS18 alone in the house for too long ....Gee, I wonder why???

Hi Julie!

I give you so much credit for sticking to your diet and exercise amidst the chaos with your DS18 you have described. Sounds like he definitely needs a wake up moment of his own. My 20 year old Sis just had one of her own after a run in with the law that involved her not closing her big mouth. Definitely not the same as what you are dealing with, but like I said, I give you all the credit in the world.

Sounds like your vacation is timely and needed! I hope that is refreshing, relaxing and more fun than you can stand! :cool1:

Sounds like things have been very stressful, but you have done a wonderful job of sticking with your program. Such great progress! :cheer2:

As far as your DS18, I have two brothers that have had some problems as well over time. The older one (lots of similar problems you mentioned) has become more responsible, but is still learning. Mom cut him off a long time ago. The younger one is very irresponsible and may never learn, mainly because Mom enables him. As hard as it may be to do, you may seriously have to think about telling your DS that it is time to "sink or swim". Sure it will take him some time, but he needs a dose of reality and as long as you are footing the bills, it won't happen. The choices that he makes now, must have consequences. I know it sounds harsh, but you still have two other children that you need to raise and get through school. Will you worry about your DS18, sure, but you really need to reduce what stress you can. It's just not good for you. Good luck.

At any rate, it sounds like a trip across country is just what the dr. ordered. It really sounds like fun to take a train ride so far. Being with your sister and her family sounds like it will do you a world of good. Enjoy the trip.

:wizard: For a stress free day. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

That is a lot of stress with DS. I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. I'm glad you are not turning to food. I admire that. Look forward to your trip with DD. You deserve it.

WI this morning. My scale was exactly where it had been last week, but WW said down .2. I'll take anything I can get.

Today is a bit calmer day, thank GOD!!!!!!!

DD and I managed to go to see Herbie (we had free tickets) and it was really cute! Then got hair cut. I still have tons to do, but one step at a time.

DS18 just left. He was here using the internet to work on financial aid forms for student loans. A positive sign.....maybe.

Gotta run get more done.

Food so far: 2 pt bar on the way to the movie, pretzel/mustard/cheese lunch at the movie (8), handfull of popcorn(1) so I have 11 left. I have NO idea what dinner will be. Tomorrow we have to do pizza & DQ ice cream cake.

TTNW: DD and I will leave very early from Lakeland for Discovery Cove. We want to be there by about 7:30 as DD wants an early Dolphin swim time in case it storms (Orlando in June, hmmmmm, no chance of that :rotfl: ) We will spend most of our time in the reef as last summer when we did TFAD we didn't even see all of it. I could easily spend the day in the lazy river area. I will definitely get in a nap in a hammock. Lunch will probably be a salad. Their food is really good and included. After DC we will grab something quick to eat (I think there's a Wendys or McD across from Sea World) and head to our hotel. DD will probably want to swim more. DH and DS15 will arrive about 10:30 p.m. and bring the shuttle to the hotel. Hopefully by the time they arrive DD will have been long asleep as tomorrow the wedding stuff begins!

Thanks for all your prayers & support!

Congrats on your loss!!! :cool1: Even if it is modest, it's still an accomplishment and worth celebrating!

No words of wisdom to offer you. Your DS sounds a lot like my older brother at that age, and eventually he grew up and found his way. Sending prayers and :wizard: for strength to both of you.

Hang in there!!! :sunny:

I love you TTNW!

Today is almost over. YEAH!!!!

Did a couple of the 'tomorrow' tasks late this afternoon. Tomorrow morning DD and I go to the Spa early, then will have lunch at Sweet Tomatoes next door. Then off to WalMart & Best Buy to buy DS18 GC's for his bday. Pick up the cake at DQ and home to finish up. We are basically packed except for toiletries & stuff for the train. Need to double check that we have the proper accessories for the wedding stuff.

Saturday morning I'll make a quick grocery run and finish up some laundry then we are ON THE WAY!!!!!!!

DD will bathe Mia and pack her bag for the Kennel as DH wouldn't think of doing that.

Dinner was the last of the baked potatoes with veggie crumbles, ff sour cream, cheese & salsa (9)

We're going to watch Hitch tonight so I'll probably have a WW ice cream at some point.

Just wanted to wish you a great trip again Julie! I think I lose a pound every time I read your posts, as you do so much it leaves me winded just thinking about it! hehehehe :goodvibes

Hope that you & your DD enjoy your time together!

Mike :flower:

Julie - have a great time with DD on your trip. You are doing well with your determination to eat healthy and exercising.

Today is the official end of my June - down 7 on my scale from 170 - 163. I will start my July now at 163 as I won't have a scale when I'm gone. My official Summer Challenge 2 start on my scale on Wed. 6/22 was 164.5.

Managed to get my hair cut yesterday. You have to understand I'm a "ready in under 5 min. person" and I usually cut my hair once, MAYBE twice a year. The rest of the time it is in a scrunchie. So, go to a place in the mall that cuts DD's as she needed trimmed. I think it's uneven w/ the right side slightly longer than the left. DD says the difference is microscopic, but I think I'm obsessing. So, in addition to the Spa, lunch, Walmart, Best Buy & DQ, I may have to fit in a run back to the mall to get this evened out. It didn't help that DH never even said a word about it - I went from about 6 - 8" below shoulders straight to just above shoulders, slightly layered. HMMMMM......is it THAT bad?????? Oh well, my DSis will be brutally honest(and I may come home with about as much hair as she has growing)

DS19(happy birthday to Ben) will be over about 6 for pizza, cake & presents. I'm also going to pick up a lg chef salad from a different pizza place for me - and maybe he'll have something resembling a veggie for once.

I'm probably going to have a pria for breakfast (3) or maybe try to go with just coffee as the rest of the day will be full of food, lunch at sweet tomatoes. Dinner will be 1 slice of Papa Johns Cheese pizza thin crust (5), a sliver of DQ ice cream cake(5) and salad(2). I'd like to stay reasonable on points today as I know the next 2 weeks will be a challenge.

Yesterday was a no exercise day, AGAIN, except for errands. Today will likely be the same. Hopefully stress burns calories :rolleyes1 !!

DS15 got home from work about 9:20 last night complaining of a severe headache & promptly threw up. His allergies were also bad & his eyes were awful. Like it or not, I'm calling him sick for gym today. He is scheduled to work 2 - 9, so maybe he can go in, although I'd prefer he not. That one is his call & his responsibility.

TTNW: I will let the crew sleep in this morning at HI Express airport Orlando, as this will be the only morning of sleep this trip. Breakfast will be my usual HIExpress breakfast(no, NOT the cinnamon rolls - DS15 eats enough of those for about 6 people!) I will have 3 hard boiled eggs - whites only and either an English Muffin w/ a faint smidge of peanut butter, or a banana w/ pb. And of course decaf. I'll take my book down and wait in the breakfast area until someone calls or comes down to let me know they are awake. Once ready, it is off to Lakeland. We'll check in at Residence Inn and head to my DSis to see if there is anything we need to do. The rehearsal is at 5:45 at the hotel where the wedding will be and we'll also pick up snacks/drinks in the hospitality room there(my DBil runs Canteen in S FL, so there will be snacks & drinks) for our hotel. After rehearsal, dinner is being catered at the grooms parent's house (it's more of a mansion on a lake). Off to bed hopefully at a decent hour. DD's hair appointment is at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the hotel room where the girls are dressing for the wedding, so I can't imagine that I'll get much done after that. Pictures are at 2 p.m., wedding at 4 tomorrow.

Julie,

Have a WONDERFUL time on your trip...stay positive, enjoy yourself, don't deprive yourself...and you'll do fine!!! Enjoy the world! ;) ::MinnieMo and tell ::MickeyMo I said hi ;)

HUGGIES TO YOU!!! AND REMEMBER JUST KEEP SWIMMING :fish: ;)

WOW! 7lbs. lost on your June challenge. I think that is GREAT! And you said you were a slow loser. :confused3 You are doing fine and I think you will be fine on your trip as well.

Too bad I have so much going on with company and kids going to camp, etc. or I would run up to Chicago and help you kill a little time between trains. ;)

Well, if I don't talk to you before your trip, Have a wonderful time, relax, and try not to worry about much.

BTW, I had my hair cut similar to yours (very long to just below the shoulders and a few layers) and I love it. Now it has a few more layers, but I am thinking of letting them grow back out, too hard to make a ponytail. I know you will like your new do.

Have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hi,Julie! Just popping in real quick to wish you a fabulous trip! I hope everything goes very smoothly. Don't worry too much about food. You are doing so great! Congrats on losing 7 in less than a full month of June, which is short to begin with! You must be so excited to see that much progress.

Keep up the great work, sweetie. You are inspiring me!

The Spa was wonderful. DD was very moody and apprehensive when we first arrived, but after her facial decided she'd like to do this every week..... NOT!!!!!

Got the running done, and am almost done packing. DS19 came over for pizza, his right side is better, but the left is swollen and very sore. He really couldn't eat and asked that we do cake in the morning before I leave. He went home to take a pain pill(I won't give him the bottle as he would likely be dumb and drive with them) and sleep.

Time to do laundry and get some English essays proofed. UGH!! That's what I get for letting DS15 stay home for High School.

I'll try to check in in the morning before we leave.

16 hours 15 minutes left. :cool1: I think I'll hide DD's phone or she'll update me all night long!

In about 3 hours DD and I will head to the Train Station. :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I weighed in this morning on my scale - 162.5 - so that's the weight I want to meet or beat when I return. Hopefully!!!! :rolleyes1 I'm gonna try!

I'll catch you all when I reach FL, but then not again til I get home. I probably won't weigh as scales can differ so much.

Have a great 2 weeks!

We are going to Busch on 7/3 and at Universal staying at HRH from 7/4 - 7/7. I CAN'T wait!!

TTNW: Wedding Day! DD and I will have to be up early. The guys doing hair & make up will be at the Hotel where the wedding is at 10. She is scheduled for 10:30 - 12 and then I'll try to get her a bite to eat before she has to be dressed and ready for pics at 2. Wedding is at 4. DNiece has waited what she thinks is FOREVER for this (she'll be 32 next week). I'll cry - I always do. I cried when she tried on her wedding gown for me. This niece is my special one as since DH and I were dating in HS, she has always been close to both of us. Since she was 10 every summer until college she would spend her saved money to come spend a couple of weeks with us. All through Jr. Hi & HS she was very heavy. Beautiful inside & out, but big and with a sister who looks like Barbie, she never got the guys attention. 3 years ago she went on WW and went from a 24 - 8/10 in under a year. Amazingly, people started to notice the beauty under the skin. She started me on WW. She still hasn't made goal - has been w/in about 5 lbs for almost 18 mo. I almost think it's a fear thing - if she gets there, she'll gain it back.

Anyway......DH & DS will drive the bride & groom to the Airport Hyatt(or is it Hilton) after the reception/dinner. They are headed to Sandals for a week - hopefully w/o any tropical storms!(she has bad vacation luck - a crash landing, a cruise ship that lost it's engines, a train that hit a car.......)

DS will navigate as DH is sure to get lost on the way back. Then off to Busch tomorrow.

I won't be able to do any more TTNW as I'm OUTTA HERE!!!! I'll do a trip report - hopefully w/ pictures when I get back!

Take great care all! Keep on Losin'!! :wave2:
