Hello Fellow JA fans!
When I was in WDW in December I was told that JA would be in WDW for the 50th celebration on May 5th. Now, what I don't know is...1) Is this really the case, or did the CM falsely get my hopes up....2) What will be the schedule...3) Where can I find her when I am there.

I have actually scheduled my vacation around this alleged visit...any information would be much appreciated!!!

We were at WDW for the opening of Wishes. When we were at MGM, she was doing a book signing. That was the only appearance that I knew of, but she could have had others.

Sorry, I do not know.
On a side note we are convinced she lives at WDW as we see her at least every other trip.
The last time was Oct. 03 when she was at MGM for a book signing. It was a total fluke that she was there and so were we. We have seen her a few times but this was the first time we actually got to "meet" her. She was so friendly.
My DD's were too late to see her so I brought them up to the window to see her.The CM's saw these 2 little blonde haired girls staring at JA from the window and pointed them out to her and she waved and smiled so sweetly. Truly a classy lady.

we were there too! she was at that coffee shop near sci-fi dine-in restaurant, the line to see her was so long..but we were able to see her through the window......

We were eating at Sci-fi, and came out and saw the line. My DH, thought I should wait to see her. He was soo upset with me for not waiting. The Sound of Music is my all-time favorite Movie. He says I missed my chance.

My girls now love her too, since Princess Diary. My older likes the Sound of Music, but my youngest doesn't get it.

Maybe, we will get another chance, since she is there a lot.

I am very jealous of all of you. In all the times that I have been to WDW I have never seen her. I am a pretty hard core JA fan so I checked on the fan sites and nothing is listed for May...hopefully I'll just get lucky.
Does anyone know what the May 5th celebration will entail? Will it just be at MK or will the other parks have special events as well?

It is a very good possibility that Julie Andrews will be at WDW to kick off the 50th Aniversary Celebration. She is a frequent celebrity guest at WDW during important celebrations. I hope you get to meet her and get her autograph. I have been told she is a very beautiful and gracious lady.

Sorry, the true celebration is Disneyland. For if it weren't for that park there would not be a 50th celebration. Of course, you know where I'll be for 5/05/05.

The true celebration will be at all of the Disney owned parks.

One evening in December 2001, I was waiting for some friends to come up on the elevator, and when the door opened, it was JA and her husband Blake Edwards with an entourage of VIP host CM's. Very quickly, the other elevator door opened and there were my friends, astounded that they had just seen JA. As we walked to our room, Julie and Blake were in front of us, and opened the door to the Steeplechase Suite and went in. Our room was the next one down, right next door. During the next few days, we saw them often coming and going down the hall.

One evening, we went to the Concierge Lounge to watch a rocket launch. On the balcony, I stood right next to Blake and Julie. She was wearing a dressing robe, and her hair was wet and flat like she had just gotten out of the shower. Blake and I exchanged a few words, then finally when we saw nothing, he said "I feel like an idiot" and said good-bye. I don't remember what Julie said during the wait, she never spoke directly to me even though we were side by side... I was very impressed with Blake making the effort to strike up the brief conversation with me. I was also impressed that Julie came out on the balcony without perfect hair or a designer gown. Just nice people!

We saw them a couple more times that trip, then went down to say good-bye when they were leaving in the limo. From what I saw, the entourage of CM's were absolutely charmed by the couple.

I have never been star struck by celebs, and prefer to respect their privacy and leave them alone. But after that chance meeting on the balcony, I know what people mean when they say JA is a classy lady.
