Julie and Twilight :)

DD loved Twilight! I have heard that after the second book they might be too adult for her. She is 11 and a voracious reader. She love suspense and fantasy books (in fact, she loves almost every genre), but is still quite innocent. So, I have no issue with references to kissing but would not want her getting into anything heavier than that right now. I have not had time to read them myself. For the moment I have told her that she has to stop at book 2.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure, the relationship gets a bit intense, especially in the last book, although letting her get into a story and then denying her the rest of it is a bit harsh! I would sit down and read it yourself to be sure, i don't want to say what happens as not to spoil the plot for others, but if you want me to PM you with any of the particulars, just let me know!

I asked this same question, and I've decided to let my DD11 read them. The good thing about her is that she will tell me if they are inappropriate. She was reading another series of books and came to me and told me she wasn't sure if she shoudl be reading them because they swear in them. I asked her what they say, and she said - H*ll. So, she does a good job monitoring what she's reading.

Well, I started reading it last night and have found (GASP) spelling and grammatical errors! What's up with that? There is simply no excuse for a published book such as this to have such glaring errors. That aside, the story is carrying me and I'm enjoying it.

Oh, dear! I still haven't even read a single Harry Potter book. I am too busy either writing my own little stories or reading medical literature. :headache: Maybe one day I will get around to all that. It certainly sounds entertaining.

I really hate that they release these books without proper editing. No excuse for that in this day and age of spellcheckers.

I unfortunately didn't pace myself very well when reading them and had them finished too quickly. The upside to finishing them all quickly is that I'm now going to bed before 1am on weeknights so I'm not as tired and cranky at work as I was before. :) I'm now pacing myself through "Host" which is another book by S. Meyer.

I am a huge fan of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles so these were great to read and add to my collection.

I'm sure I'll see the movie eventually but I have yet to see a movie that really did a book enough justice (in my eyes).

I've not read the books but have heard about them. I will definitely try to pick one up!
