Juggling with FP and dining

Today was my day to do FP. I got some done while battling confusion and trying to get dining reservations to match up with FP times. We have hoppers and will be moving quite a bit just to use the FP that I was able to get. Only one day will work out as I had planned. This was the worst way to do planning that I have ever experienced. Has anyone else felt the same way I do after doing their FP's. My nerves are shot.

I'm nervous & stressed before doing fps. Mostly trying to figure out what times for the rides & worried about not getting the ones we want. After I get the fps, it's all pretty much gravy.

No. I plan out ahead of time the general time frame I need for the FPs and then start with the harder to get ones. I've not had any issues getting close to what I've planned.

I've not had an issue, but I go for 10 park days so the really hard to get FP (like FOP) I book first and near the end of my vacation. I was able to get every FP I wanted at the time I wanted, but I did have to play around with it a bit. Often times the time I want is not an immediate choice, but it shows up when I go to modify it. I have a plan going in so that I know what times I'm looking for and how much buffer I have on those times without impacting my ADRs and I that works for me.

Feel your pain!

I couldn't book a FastPass for Flight of Passage on my AK day-the day I have a ROL dining package. I was able, however, to get a morning FoP FP for the same day as my Festival of Fantasy Dining Package lunch waaaaay over at the MK. Trying to change those two ADRs would snowball into a big old complicated mess involving some difficult reservations like a Be Our Guest PPO and a Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package so I'm just going to leave it all as is. I'll be hitting AK early, riding FoP and then hot-footing it over to the MK, but that seems easier than starting over with my ADRs.

My tip to anyone still 180 days out is to make your AK dining reservations for a day as far out in your trip as possible if you plan on getting a FoP FastPass for that day.

I will have to re do a few dining res.to make things work. My AK day doesn't fit in with my dining reservation times.

I understand how you feel. Bottom line, our dining reservations are far more important than a FP as we are using the DXDP. The one FP I really wanted badly was FOP. I got it for the day we are at AK, but it's at an awkward time. If I hadn't been able to get it for the day we are in the park I would have said forget it. We have a lunch reservation at Tiffin's, so no way was I planning an extra day at AK just to get a FP. Too much trouble when we only have 5 days in the parks. I suggest you decide which is most important and go from there. It's possible other FP times will open up for you. It's great you have hoppers, which will allow you to plan something on the fly. This FP reservation business is a little cray-cray.

I also got FOP at a bad time of noon on our last day. This FP and dining planning was harder than I thought. I couldn't do it if we didn't have the RD plan.

I loved FP+, until so many new rides were opened that are so hard to get. With Mine Train, FOP, A&E all being so hard to get, it makes me start falling out of love with FP+. I am sure that once the new rides that are being planned start opening FP+ is going to be even less attractive.

I would have skipped Pandora altogether if DH had been along. I can't even imagine how he'd react if I told him that he had to:

1. Get up at 6:00 AM to make it to EMH to sit in a boat and float past scenes relating to a film he's never seen.

2. Present himself at exactly 9:45 AM to ride a simulator that may or may not make him ill.

3. Rush out of Animal Kingdom to get to the MK to make it to a heavy lunch in the September heat so that we can have a prime viewing spot for a parade he doesn't want to see. (I mean, who hates parades? Sometimes I'd swear the man has no soul ;))

I'll be solo, the only reason I'm even considering all this rushing around.
