Joy and sadness early morning hours

Do joy and sadness meet during early morning hours or not until the park opens?

I am wondering this too. From my research they don't officially start meeting until 9, even on early morning hour days. We are planning to attend Epcot EMH in a few weeks and definitely want to meet them. I am now wondering if the line builds during EMH, basically if we would spend the entire hour of the EMH waiting in line? If that's the case I might just try for RD on a non-EMH day, but we only have 3 park days planned this trip and our other 2 were going to be spent at MK. Really hoping we can get to meet them early during the EMH morning at Epcot.

They do not start meeting until 9 and a sizable line built up starting around 820. I think the better option is to head straight there at rope drop, or else you'll waste alot of the extra morning hour.

Ugh, that is exactly what I was afraid of. :-/ I am assuming you tried this yesterday during EMH? Did you at least get to meet them? Might not even be worth it for us to go to the EMH's if that is the case. Guess I will rearrange our trip to hit RD at Epcot on a non-EMH morning. Thank you so much for the feedback, it is a huge help for me to plan our days. And GO BUCKS! ;-)

glad you asked this I was wondering the same thing. Trying to plan our Sept visit - going to hit Joy and Sadness at RD!

Glad you asked. We are doing Epcot on an EMH day during our next trip and my plan was to go straight to Joy and Sadness. Boo- I am not going to spend the whole EMH hour waiting in a line that doesn't open until 9.

Yes that is when we went.

We ended up waiting in line because we'd already been on test track that morning and all the other rides would have been manageable later on.

I think we ended up meeting them around 9:40, but they were a little late coming out. Think they came out around 915, though they supposed to be out at 9. Sadness must have been moping about.
