I just wrote on the favorite ride post, and wanted to know if anyone had gone recently if they had gone on Journey Into Your Imagination?

I used to love it as a kid, but I think when I went in '01 (or maybe that was when I went before and in '01 it was being worked on? can't remember), it had been redone and was really stupid and only included figmet once and he was hidden. Michael Eisnier declaired him dead or whatever. Well my friend got me a shirt that says "Figment is Back. 2002" when she went to Disney at the end of 'o1.

So short story long.....is he back? Is the ride the same as it use to be?

He is back and no it's not the same ride as it used to be. They take you through different "labs" to test out your senses. It's not really much fun in my opinion.

Yes- Figmint is back

No- Unfortunatly, the ride is nowhere as good at it was when I was a kid in the mid 80's :furious:

Yup he's back and now he is even a meetable character! I got my picture with him two months ago! :)

It wasn't as good as I remember it, but my DD13 loves the ride.

When we went in April the week before Easter we just walked on and most of the cars were empty.

The ride is not the same, it is the same as it was changed in 2001. Although, because of a high demand for Figment by guests, it is safe to say that he has returned!

IMO, the new ride is pretty bad...I wanted to like it, because I love Monty Python's Flying Circus and Eric Idle rocks, but the ride is just boring.

You may want to hold your breath...and bring a change of clothes. I swear the shirt I was wearing that day still smells of skunk

Before we went on this ride last time I made such a fuss over it telling my kids how great it was and all the things you can play with after the ride and well it was such a big dissapointment I was actually embarressed.. I wish they would bring the old pavillion back..

Figment is back, but in this life he's quite annoying. I remember him from Epcot's early days as being fun and inspirational. There is a website around that has the original sound track... don't have the link on this PC or I'd post it.

Figment was one of the reasons why I fell in love with Disney World to start with. I do wish they'd restore him and the Dreamfinder.

I would have to agree with everyone. It is definitely not the same. I also loved the original and am quite disappointed in the new one.

Add me to this ever-growing group. I loved the original and miss it terribly. I don't know why they ever got rid of it to begin with. :furious:

I do have to say my kids love this ride, but they don't know what they're missing.

I'm not deliberately trying to be contrary, but I was underwhelmed by the original the one and only time I rode it, perhaps it takes time to grow on you. This version, while a Minor Attraction IMHO, is cute, interesting to my grand daughters and something we usually do once every trip.

That's exactly what happened to me, only I was there is 2001, and my DD was only 3 at the time and she didn't even like it. As a kid (in the 80's) it was my favorite ride but last time I went I was shocked at how bad it was! :sad2:

Well, I guess I am one of the only ones who likes the ride...I think it's kind of cute and the song is catchy....

I do like it. The song's cute, figment's cute, but it was a lot cuter before. I wonder if Disney has realized that the old ride is better? Would it be expensive for them to redo it like it was before?

We loved the original version best as well. But Still think the one they have now is cute. And if you are looking for a "quick" cool off it's a good ride as there is no wait time. But I have to say the one area you ride into where they give the "skunk" smell is a BIG turn off..just gagged the heck out of me..ewwww! I feel the same way about the Stitch ride in Magic Kingdom. Not sure if that's supposed to be a burp or a fart smell but good lord it's awful! Just my 2 cents. :rotfl2:

 I kind of like the current ride. I never saw version #1, but me, DW, and the kids always look forward to riding the current version. It's not like a must-do for us, but it is certainly worth a few minutes. There is never a line, and we always like playing a bit after the ride. I guess this ride is my "guily pleasure".

I guess I like some parts of the new attraction. The butterfly on the swing (I think it is a butterfly) really freaks me out  . It took my awhile to figure out how they did it. :butterfly

Since we all liked the old one...why did they change it in the first place? I still have my Figment doll....and I loved that ride....so sad the new one isn't as good. I couldn't wait to take dd4 on it...and she wasn't too impressed!
