Right at the very beginning of the ride, the Dreamcatcher story is told. Now when you watch the video, keep in mind that this long storytelling sequence is being played out while you're in a moving vehicle! If my memory serves, the entire ride was, and still is an omnimover so it never stops for loading or unloading (like several rides at Disney parks) They pull this amazing trick by having the first scene occur in a room that rotates with your group of vehicles. And a few seconds later, other vehicles have entered their own first scene room with the Dreamcatcher. There were 4 or 5 Dreamcatcher rooms rotating in a big circle. After the opening story was told, you then followed Figment through the rest of the ride.
The rest of the ride was pure magic as well. Now THAT was imagination in ride design! THAT was EPCOT!
