Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Thanks, Bek! We dated 5 years before we married, so it's been a LONG time! 30 years last Feb!

Julie -- Congrats on the 25 year anniversary!!!! DH and I will hit 25 years since we met in October and it will be our 23rd anniversary in December. I hope you and DH get to go out and have a quiet, really good dinner together.

Sorry you have the TOM cravings, etc. I went through a phase where every time we went on vacation over almost 2 1/2 years, it was my TOM. NOT fun!!! :rotfl: UGH!

Congrats on maintaining your sanity, much less remembering to eat, when you have so much going on. I can't even imagine. . . Don't worry -- when you get back from FL we will both encourage each other to stay on track to get ready for ToT -- 158 days from today, I believe!!!

Take good care of yourself, Julie, as it is obvious no one else is doing the job. Know that your WISH friends are here (even when we aren't ;) ) and we are wishing you all good things!

Believe me, Cam, eating is one thing I don't forget! :rotfl:

But I sure would like to sometimes!

Right now I'm STARVING, but I want to save as many pts as possible for if we go out tonight!

I'm with you, chickie -- but I am not eating or drinking another thing until after WI tonight at about 6:45. Then, everyone better stay out of my way as I make my way to the nearest trough. Why in the world do we have to be so hungry on WI day?

BTW, Julie, I listened to Bob Marley and other reggae music last night during my workout to motivate me to get in shape for our cruise! :cloud9:

I LOVE Bob Marley, and of course, Jimmy Buffett, and my car, being a convertible bug, doesn't run without Beach Boys!

I hope WI goes wonderful! I'm not sure I'm going to make it Thursday to mine - and not sure I want to. But, at the gym I weighed on their 'bar' scale & was 2+ lb less than I've been there. Unfortunately, my home scale doesn't show that - more like a gain.

However, I tried on a few clothes today & an Adidas shorts/top I bought last summer in FL at the outlet fits quite a bit better than it did, and a couple of outfits I bought in San Diego (3 years ago) do, too! I bought them, promptly gained a bunch & never wore them - it was right before my mom fell, then died & right after my MIL died. So that is good!

woohoo on new clothes! :woohoo: It is so much fun to go shopping in our very own closets, isn't it?

That was quite a story about the brown bear. Can't say that has ever happened in my hospital.
Congrats on the clothes fitting better!!!!!
Stay well for that trip! I ended up with a cold two days before my trip but luckily it was gone the day I flew out. Sadly I passed it on to my DD.
Also Congrats on the 25 Anniversary. My 30th is coming next year. And yes sometimes I've wanted to throw my DH out with the wash. But you know I do love him, quirks and all. And I'de hate to break in another one.:rotfl:

Carole - training a new DH would NOT be a fun endeavor!
Cam - new clothes from any source are always fun - especially if smaller!!

Dinner was really good. I don't think DH liked it. I had something called Miami Shrimp. It was cold black beans w/ salsa that had about 1/4 - 1/2 avocado slice on it and then chopped up shrimp in an ancho chili sauce on that. And a few thin slices of squash, carrots & cucumber. Came with blue corn chips, but I only ate 4. Had a small roll, too. Dessert I had a piece of Rio Grande Mud Pie - basically a chocolate crust filled with fudge topped with whipcream and a think layer of caramel. I cut it in half & boxed 1/2 for DD - then I forgot to bring it home.

DH had a 'budda Bowl'. Brown rice, lima beans, fried shrimp, other veggies & some kind of sauce. Then he had an ice cream/fruit parfait - mango sorbet, french vanilla ice cream, glazed berries & bananas w/ whip cream.

Now I'm helping DS17 with Merchant of Venice. (Have I mentioned I HATE Shakespeare????)

Happy Anniversary Julie and DH! 25 years married and 30 years together is a lot to celebrate! Congratulations!!!!!:woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:

I'm glad you had a good time at dinner last night.:goodvibes The food sounds delicious!

I bet you are getting so excited about your cruise.:yay: I am praying that it is a time of rest and relaxation and pampering for you.

Wow! One week and we'll be at the airport waiting to leave. Seems impossible!!

NM weather is SO WEIRD right now. This morning I'm FREEZING(50 out, windy)!! There is to be SNOW in the mountains tonight/tomorrow. By Monday it's to be in the 90s again! ICK!!!

Today is DDs last day of finals. Sometime we have to go get a birthday present for one of her friends who is having a party at the ice rink tonight. Still tons of English to get done with DS17 - me prodding, him writing! The LR/DR - well, it's not looking too great right now! Mostly kid stuff that needs moved then I can finish, but they're never here to get it done. If I could walk in any of their rooms I'd move it! I likely won't make the gym today, but am going to try. If not I WILL do my WATP 5 mile or go out for a LONG walk. One way or another!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!

One more week!:cheer2:

DD's last day of finals!:cheer2: :wizard:

Today's weather.

Monday's weather.:beach:

Have a wonderful water filled Wednesday!:drinking1

Julie -- Just hang in there, sweetie! Lots to look forward to just ahead for you! Your meals sound wonderful and different. I have a hard time finding interesting things on menus around here. May have to search out new restaurants/cafes. :)

I hope you found time to do something you enjoy today.

Hi Julie, Happy Anniversary! That meal sounded very tasty, esp. the pie! TOM is always on board with my trips to Florida too! Whats up with that? I really teared up reading your thoughts on your marriage and dh's changes. Life isn't ever easy to live or figure out is it? But love is what matters, good for you for hanging in there.

And we have the same weird weather here in Colorado, 40 freezing, wet degrees right now and it will be sweltering by Monday.

Florida/Cruise HERE YOU COME!!!

Today I'm in a bit of a nervous panic. We get back less than 48 hours before the DROP DEAD deadline for UNM & NM universities. IF they decide they need more info or don't want DS17, there won't be time to get info to them as they won't accept faxes. Called yesterday & they are taking 4 - 6 weeks for decisions. I can't imagine he won't get in w/ his ACT score & acing the GED, but, this is NM. They could decide the only need more minority students (YES, it really happens here) or no more GED students, no more males, etc. I know it's not 'legal' but it's widespread and open knowledge in this state (kind of like our police chiefs son who was DWI over 2.5 x the limit & they called daddy to come get him w/ no ticket. Or our constant govt. kickbacks & embezzlement - & our gov. wants to be Pres!!)

Not sure what to do other than pray!

Todays list is long -

DONE

tan
return DD's books to school
mail packages
pick up DS17 pants at JCP catalog
return the same, more expensive pair to Kohls
Pick up DD contact RX & extra lenses
Take DD to work & pick her up
Get carryons for DD & DS17 at Walgreens
Phone rebates
Contact Rebate
Dryer repaired
Walked 75 min/Waist/abs15 min

NOT DONE

MAYBE go to WW if I can squeeze it in. If not I'm gonna have to try
for Tues before we leave on Wed
Find a hard case to fit my rx sunglasses
Find the rechargeable batteries DS17 needs

I'm sure other stuff will get added. For instance, the LR/DR still isn't done, I need to take more to Goodwill, pay more bills that have arrived, go to the Credit Union, etc.

Unfortunately, it isn't going to end until I'm outta here!

Have a good Thursday! Almost the weekend!

Doesn't it always seem like EVERYTHING comes up right before you take a vacation! Maybe it's to remind you why vacations are so important :lmao:

You seem on top of everything, and in no time at all, you'll be kicking back with a good book and a fun drink without a care int he world!

Ok, so after stressing about DS17 & UNM admissions, yesterday morning I called the admissions office again. This time I got a younger person named Allie. I explained & she said she would call me back. About 2 hours later as I was stepping out of the shower at the gym the phone rang. She proceeded to explain that she had decided to WALK DS17 admissions packet over to the head of Freshman admissions and told him that it needed done NOW & she would WAIT! And they did it! So, he's in, he's signed up for orientation (mandatory, but you also pay $125 for it!?!?! - weird!) I'm SO relieved!!! Needless to say she's going to get a note from me and I'm sending one to the head of her dept, too. Definitely above & beyond. I just wanted someone to tell us if we needed anything further or give us a 'best guess' if it was ok.

May 25 - Day 82/108 - 5 days til I leave for FL/Cruise
ww yogurt/fiber one(1)
chips(5)
pretzel(5)
sm baked potato w/ vegs(5)
couple bites of popcorn(3)

Food is going to become very repetitive or very boring soon as I am trying to clean out before we leave. DS20 will be here but basically only eats frozen foods that he can cook in under 2 min & eat with his hands. Wonderful diet, huh???

Today's list:

Glasses adjusted
find a case that my sunglasses will fit in
find batteries for DS17
Probably take DS17 to/from work as it looks like rain
Maybe use my Best Buy reward bucks for another port. DVD player
Pay bills(that just don't ever stop coming)
Clean more
Keep prodding DD to get her room DONE
Work on upstairs more - almost there
Stuff to Goodwill

And I"m sure to add more.... I've pretty much given up hope of losing any more before we leave. I'm just too busy to focus on it. Frustrating, but reality. I just need to concentrate on not gaining too much while I'm gone. My DSis & family think I'm insane, but I fully intend to weigh out at DSis before I leave on the cruise, weigh in in the gym on the ship, weigh daily, wiegh out when I get off, & weigh back in at DSis. Obsessive??? Yes! But I just want myself to remember on a daily basis that I don't want to end up way back up where I started and that food isn't the focus of life. I'm hoping the scale will be a reminder of the need for good choices. Am I going to eat....You bet!!! I just want to focus on not overdoing. I know I will gain....Duh!!! But I want to keep it in the 5 lb range, not the 15 lb range!!

Nice feeling to know. I'm poor at waiting so I would have been doing the same thing.
I felt the same way going on this trip to Disney about not gaining weight. The DDP gives so much food! So I made of point of leaving half of my plate full. It was still way more food than I would eat normally and I was full so it wasn't a hardship. And I never left feeling like I'de just had turkey dinner. And my weight stayed the same.

Yeah Julie!:cheer2:

I'm so glad to hear that your DS's admission is taken care of!:thumbsup2 I know that is a huge weight off your shoulders. Congratulations to you both!:woohoo:

Have a wonderful weekend!
