Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

I'm BACK!!!!!!

What an exhausting weekend! Friday - Sunday I was on my feet over 23 hours working as a runner at the fencing tourney. DD fenced Fri & Sunday - didn't make the top 80% either day, but we weren't expecting it as she's moved up a division. She was disappointed, of course, but.....

Food was good, just not enough water. Friday I had a latte, some fruit and 1/2 a bagel until on the way home when I picked up Chick Fil A & had a plain grilled sandwich. Saturday I had coffee, 2 very small croissants, then picked up taco bell on the way home & had nachos. Sunday I had just coffee until on the way home had McD chicken sandwich grilled, plain, then 2 small pieces of pizza for dinner. Somewhere in there I had a fun size m&m bag, but don't remember which day.

The big news here is that DS20 has a job.....or at least is supposed to.....working at the new arena that just opened. They called today, we scrambled to find all his important papers like Drivers license, etc, opened a bank account (w/ my money of course) as they won't hire you unless you can do direct deposit. Had to be there before 5. Arrived at 4:30 and he was told the person he had been told to get the hiring paperwork from was off today. And he is supposed to show up to work at 10 tonight. So DH will take him anyway. Don't want his new boss to think he blew off his first day. He's going to be on the overnight crew setting up /changing events. Tonight they begin unloading and setting Disney on Ice. It's only part time, when they have events, but it is at least something and I think it's always easier to get a job when you have a job. Plus, he could work a real full-time job and still do this occasionally.

As if I don't have enough to do, I'm now volunteering every morning from 7 - 9 in DD's choir. They've driven off every sub since the teacher died a month ago. Friday they district called 23 Subs and all refused. They found a former choir teacher, but they class is totally out of control, so I'm going in to 'ride herd' on them since I was a HS teacher and can be quite convincing when dealing with the little TWITS!!

I'm trying to catch up on Ebay now. Tomorrow is almost my last to list before Spring. I've got a lot to do to help DS17 catch up with school, but other than that I'm planning to concentrate on cleaning my icky house so we can hopefully put up Christmas after Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm going to try to catch up on some journals over the week & weekend!

You're superwoman!! I can't get over how much you fit in each day and still find time to eat well, run the November exercise challenge, etc... Amazing! Hope you had fun! Congrats to your son on his job! I hope things are getting on track for him. Remember to take care of yourself. Have a fantastic week ahead! :sunny:

HI Julie
Wow life has been hectic for you!!
Glad your nephew is ok & that the cyst is nothing nasty!
Glad your DS has got a job, hope his first night went well :)
How was Phantom & Blue Man????
Thats good of you to help out your DD's choir, i'm sure you will 'sort' them out :)
Have a great week
Tracey

Whew - one busy gal! (need a running smilie, but this will have to do :cool1: ) and now choir "warden". I hope that your being there will allow the kids to settle down and get back to their music. DD12's science teacher had her appendix out last month so they had a sub for awhile. DD12 came home completely appalled at some of the other kids behavior with the sub. Sounds like you got in plenty of exercise over the weekend too.

Congrats on DS20 getting a job. That is really wonderful news. Hopefully, he will use this as an opportunity to get things turned around for himself.

:wizard: for your DNephew.

Hi Julie,

Sending you lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for the next few weeks ahead. It sounds like you are going to be super busy! That is really nice of you to take over choir duties.... How's that going?

Glad to hear DS20 has a new job! Hope everything goes well with it! :goodvibes

Have a great Thursday! :sunny:

Hi Julie, that is very good and hopeful news about DS20's new job. I hope and pray it works out. A new opportunity and fresh start may be just what he needs! You sound busy, not a surprise there! Your food looks good given what you have going on. Good luck with the volunteering for dd's choir. Those poor kids have been through the ringer, I hope it works out for all involved. Have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving, Julie! :goodvibes

Thank you for your friendship and support throughout the years.... I am blessed to know you! :goodvibes

Wow! Where is time going????? It's been over 2 weeks since I've had a chance to post....Thanks to all my faithful WISH buddies for stopping by!

I'm still the Choir Warden although I've only made it in once this week due to snow/ice issues and having to take DS17 to work. These teens are merciless!!

DH is going nuts at work with many problems on projects being way overbudget and time and he's brought on to 'fix' them. Stress galore and he's working 12 - 14 hour days every day.

Which of course, leaves me to deal with everything else.....

DS20 does have a job, but it's only part time - when events are scheduled at the new arena and they call him in. Last week he worked 4 days - about 22 hours. This week it's only tonight and don't know for how long. Then, being new, there's not a scheduled event until January. That kid REALLY needs to get a real job!!!! It's a good 2nd part time job for extra cash, but not a good first job to try to live on.

DD hurt her hand/wrist fencing (that combined with slamming our van trunk hard and punching a wall out of frustration fencing). Nothing broken, but hurts to do anything much with it or hold anything - like her epee. Truthfully, I'm not sorry she's not fencing for a while. While she loves it, she's not aggressive enough and she has a mental block of nerves when she gets to a tournament which is what frustrates her.

I've been very piecemeal about exercising, but I'm a bit better on eating. Haven't made WW since 11/2, but went today just to weigh & was down 1 lb. - so a whopping 2 lbs in the last month. At least it wasn't a gain!!

I'm just about done w/ Ebay until Spring, so I will have more time for things like cleaning house, exercise, etc. I need a break. I'm actually toying with the idea of trying to get a job at Starbucks. I'd like it, get me out of the house, some cash, but...... with all the kid running I have to do, I'm not sure it would work out. Subject of much consideration & prayer!

My DSis went to her oncologist today & is all clear. She goes back early April for her 2 year check then if all clear, only 1x year mammos. She also started WW on 10/26 and has lost 10 lbs this month. She's very methodical & precise which is great! Wish I was :rotfl2: !

Much more I'll think of later, I'm sure, but time to go get some more done.

Thanks for stopping by, all!

Have an AWESOME weekend !! (and stay WARM!! - it was 12 here this morning)

Hi Julie,

Sounds like you are still super busy! Congratulations on your weight loss for the month. :cool1: That is great! :thumbsup2

Sending prayers and good thoughts for your family. :grouphug:

Have a great weekend! :sunny: I'll "see" you when I get back from WDW!

Good to see you again. Congrats on the loss  :cheer2:  . A loss is a loss, no matter what. And during the holiday season, it is doubly great.

12 degrees??? :cold: :faint: The lead story on the news last night "the extreme cold we are having" in SoCal. Into the 40's at night and only low 60's during the day. :cold: I had to laugh. That's SoCal for ya though. :rotfl2:

Sounds like you are even more super busy than your usual super busy. The Starbucks thing sounds good, but like you said, might be tough with all the kid running around stuff. Hang in there and take a moment or two for yourself when you can. :sunny:

Glad to see your back :)
Congratulations on the weight loss, its hard to even maintain at this time of year so well done :)

Wowee you are busy!! AND you're considering working at Starbucks? How do you do it woman!!! Glad to hear your sis got the all-clear. Congrats too on the weightloss. At this time of year, a loss is pretty darn amazing with all the treats lying around. Hope you had a good weekend yourself and a great week ahead! :goodvibes

Hi Julie,

I wanted to stop by and see how you are doing. :goodvibes I'm sure with the holidays coming up that you are quite busy. Please be sure and take some time for you, okay?

Have a great day today! :sunny:

Things have been fine, just busy. Until last night....

I finally talked DH into going to the ER - he has had a heart attack. They're doing angioplasty (or something similar) later this morning. Believe it's mild. I'll know more later. Please pray if you're so inclined, that this is a good wake up call for him. Also that I can keep going as I will now be the lone chauffer for a while and on little sleep.

I'll post more later.

Thanks, all! you're the best!!!

Hi Julie
You & your DH are in my thoughts :grouphug:
Hope everything turns out well & look after yourself, you dont want to be following him!!!

Merry Christmas Julie!

May you have a peaceful and calm day and find some time to relax.

Quick update before I head to the hospital. About 1p.m. yesterday they did a heart cath & found the circumflex artery (part of the left coronary that runs around the back of the heart) 99+% blocked. Dr. said he couldn't say 100% because occasionally a bit would seep through the blockage. They put in a stent and it opened it up. There is some left ventricle heart damage - it isn't pumping strong due to "prolonged lack of blood" but most function should return. There are some deposits/blockage - up to 10-15% in some other arteries, but they said DIET, EXERCISE and meds will clear that still.

I think he will get out today. I'm running to the hospital in hopes to be there when the Dr's do rounds. DD & I came home around dinner time & I fell asleep around 8:30 - was up 4 times when the boys came in, but got a good 8 - 10 solid hours of sleep, so I'm a bit better. I'm letting DS17 drive the van to work as there is still snow - we had 6" that STUCK - unusual for here. I have to return at noon to get DS20 ready for work & take him at 1:30, then I can go get DH if they're ready to dismiss. I NEED to make the gym tonight, even if it's late - probably to swim & try to relax, but I'm doing pretty well.

Ran into WW yesterday - down .6. I stayed in points yesterday even though I had taco bell nachos for dinner.

Off to the hospital.

Thanks for the P & PD!

Julie, I'm glad DH is doing better and you got some rest. Great job losing weight in the middle of all this. :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Take care! You and your family are in my thoughts. :wizard:
