Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Hi Julie, hope you have a wonderful trip! I think dniece is probably doing "her thing" as I write this! Prayers for a safe and quick delivery! We will "see" you when you get home. And yes mid life (am right there with you) is pretty crummy sometimes. With each TOM trauma I just keep thinking I am too old for this you know what! Sorry there has been no change for ds20. I am keeping him and you in my prayers.

Fl went well, arrived home exhausted - I'll give details later, but Ashley wasn't born until Sunday Morning.

DD off to school this morning, tired, and I got a call about 30 min ago from her crying hysterically. He choir teacher was found dead late yesterday. She was 32, married, no kids. There was a teacher inservice yesterday and she didn't show up, but no one questioned it. This morning, 1st block started, no teacher. The band teacher came in & told the kids to go to the drama room. A boy in band told the band teacher that he lives in her neighborhood and he saw a stretcher leave her house late yesterday with a covered body. The school then discovered that her husband was gone (military) on duty over the weekend and when he arrived home late yesterday he found her dead. She was apparently epileptic, but noone knows any details.

There are over 100 kids in her 8/9 choir, and all absolutely adored her. She had monthly parties for them at her house, took them all over to sing, was raising funds for them to sing at DLand in the spring - they were accepted. She truly cared about them as individuals. They are telling the kids block by block and sending them home. 1st block was the biggest class and when I walked into the core building to sign DD out there wasn't a dry eye among teachers, kids, parents, security or anyone. Even the Police officers were crying. Everyone knew & loved her & this is gonna be really tough on the kids. 1st concert was to be this friday.

Thanks for praying for them. I can't imagine what her husband is going through! I doubt the funeral will be here as she was from San Antonio and all of both their families live there. Hopefully we'll know soon....

Welcome back, but how awful for your DD and her class and the teacher's family. Maybe the school will have grief counselors to help the kids handle this.

Hi Julie,

First welcome back.

Second, I am so sorry for your DD, that has to be terrible. And for the teacher's family.....definitley will say a prayer and keep everyone in my thoughts.

Hope you are having a good day despite the recent events.

:grouphug: Julie... I'm glad you're back.

I'm sorry to hear such awful news. :( Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.... :grouphug:

Oh Julie that is such sad news, I hope your DD is ok too, it must have been such a shock! My thought are with you all.
On a lighter note - Hope you had a good trip, did you do HHN if you did would love to hear about it.
Take care
Tracey

So sorry to hear about dd's teacher. :guilty: What a tragic loss.

I'm glad to hear you had fun on your trip. Will you write a report? Have a great weekend!!

Wow! It's been over a week since I've really posted and that long since I've stayed OP. UGH!!! Up, down, Up, down, Up, down is all my scale has done for a LONG time!

I have gotten in virtually no exercise (for me anyway) - only 210 minutes since Tuesday when I returned. I really need to step it up - literally!

Last Friday I was up early, listed Ebay, finished packing, ran to Build a Bear to get a 'baby girl bear' and a 'birthday bear'. I picked DD up at school at 11:30, brought her home to change, ate leftover chinese for lunch while waiting and waiting and waiting for DH to get home to take us to the airport. Made good time despite it being balloon fiesta week. Dropped bags at curb & went to the gate. DD needed ice cream - I resisted Baskin Robbins!! I spent an hour walking the airport before grabbing Quiznos salads to take on the plane. I ordered a chicken 'something' salad, no cheese, but ended up with an angus beef with cheese. UGH!! ate anyway, but didn't use any of the dressing. Plane was EMPTY!! MAYBE 30 people, so I ate then moved and stretched out for about an hour & a half nap. DD did the same (so did nearly everyone on the flight) DBIL picked us up curbside in Tampa (glad I brought the bunge cords to hook the bears on the big suitcases to pull them) Got to DSis house about 9 & she was still at the hospital. DBil left to meet a friend so DD & I unpacked until DSis came home, then we talked til about midnight.

Saturday up at 6 for Garage Sales (my Dsis does this every saturday), stopped at Panera to buy bagels & get coffee. I had 1.5 bagels w/ a smidge of rf cream cheese. Showered, picked up, etc. DSis & I left for Hospital & DD went w/ KT (DSis younger dd) & KY(her DD). At hospital, nothing was happening yet, talked to the Dr. in the hall - they put DNiece2 in Friday night, started Cervidil, did nothing, started Pitocin at 7 a.m. Saturday, still nothing. So DSis & I went to the mall for lunch - Chick Fil a grilled w/ cf diet coke. I bought the Dad to Be a gallon of sweet tea & 10 small cookies in a bucket for them, then bought 4 bigger ones for DD & KT. Back to Hospital - still nothing even though they broke water around 1 p.m. Around 7 Dad to be and I ran to get food - I split a philly cheesesteak w/ Dsis (but they were HUGE!!) and had 2 fried mushrooms. We stayed until almost 11 p.m. I finally convinced DSis that she needed to get a bit of sleep as did Dad to be - DNiece2 was sleeping soundly through most of labor due to pain killers & then epidural.

So, we got to bed around midnight. I got up at 2 a.m. to call Dadtobe and was to wake DSis if anything was happening. Nothing still. DSis woke at 3 wondering why I didn't get her up and we then had to head back to the Hospital - she just couldn't stand it! At this point DNiece was really in labor, but due to drugs, was sleeping through it. at 6 I went to the cafeteria & got breakfast for Dadtobe, Dsis, DD and myself. I had a croissant w/ ham, egg, cheese, but 2 hashbrowns. UGH!! Tired does that to me. Due to drugs, DNiece didn't know when she needed to push (she was sleeping), so the nurses left her. Finally around 7:15 shift change was over & they woke her to push. She had no feeling below waist, so had to hold her legs bent while she pushed. Ashley was born Sunday morning at about 8:50 with a VERY VERY pointed little Cone Head! 6 lbs 9 oz, 21.25 inches.

We finally went back to DSis around 11, napped for 2 hours, then had to get ready for KY's first birthday party. By the time we got home from there, we were EXHAUSTED!!!!

Monday DD worked on her homework while DSis & I ran errands. Bagel for Breakfast no lunch. Then we all went up to the Hospital. Monday night we went to Ale House for Dinner. I ate WAY TOO MANY chicken nachos!!

Tuesday morning we packed, finally went to see DNiece at home after they released them and then DBil took us to airport in Tampa (4 HOURS before flight time). We ate at TGI Fridays - fried green beans, fried Mac & cheese & Potato Skins (now theres a good helping of healthy, diet food!!). That was our only food for the day & we left about half of each. Spent almost 2 hours walking Laps in the airport. Then played phase 10 & had Starbucks. The flight to KC was almost full but we had an empty seat so we could stretch out a little - DD wanted to play more cards. Had only an hour in KC where we sat on the floor & played, then the flight from KC to ABQ was PACKED! I ate a few of the 'plane crackers' SW now has. They are AWFUL! Somewhere between a ritz and a saltine with no flavor at all!

Finally home and didn't even unpack, just got out necessities and off to bed.

So, Wednesday Morning DD begged to go in late so she could sleep. NOT!! I was sitting at the computer sifting through over 350 emails when the phone rang at about 8:30. DD was hysterical over the death of her choir director (see post on Wed). Brought her home where she cried for hours. She finally was hungry and wanted.... TGI Fridays fried green beans & fried Mac & Cheese. So, off we went to pick it up. I ate some of each, too many, but oh well..... She tried to nap & couldn't, but I slept for about an hour. I spent the rest of the day working on catching up with Ebay, mail & unpacking/laundry. I don't remember what Dinner was.... I was too exhausted!

Thursday she didn't want to go to Choir (1st block), so I kept her home. Took her to McD's to get burritos. I ordered a meal, but never ate it. Instead I had a lt EM w/ eggbeaters. I don't remember what I ate the rest of the day, except that there was chocolate involved late in the evening when DD came home upset from school again.

Friday I ran errands all day. I made stirfry for dinner & had Chick Fil A sandwich for lunch. No breakfast. I managed to get in an hour walk morning and then late evening.

Yesterday DD had a fencing tournament that DH took her to - HS in town. I ran errands, got groceries, bought DH a birthday cake. DS17 had 7 friends over last night. I cooked a roast, onions & carrots, but we didn't eat it. Instead we ate 7 layer dip & a slice of pizza with the guys. While they were gone I went for a LONG walk for 90 min.

Today is DH 48th Birthday. Not sure what, if anything we will be doing. I got him a carrot cake as I don't like those and he does. Maybe it will help me to not eat it!

Hopefully I can start to get some consistency back. This up & down is KILLING me!!

Friday I got a call from my DBro who had the quintuple bypass a while back. He is doing very well, but he was letting me know that my oldest DSis (also in OKC) is having bypass surgery on Wednesday. At age 40 she had no pulse below the waist & the put in a new y shaped artery from the aorta to the knees. Well, 1 side is completely blocked so this time they are putting one in from the groin down on the right side, then across the abdomen to the left groin to help that side out. They said it will only last 5 - 6 years, then they will have to do the whole bigger procedure again. Just another reason I need to get my Act together! My family health history SUCKS!!!

I really need to get back to journaling faithfully and making my exercise a priority. I did sign up to do the Duke City half a week from today. I feel I can do it, but it won't be very fast!

Breakfast:
light EM, egg beaters, ff cheese(3)
decaf green tea

Julie, I am so sorry about your daughter's teacher, what a tragedy. Those poor kids and her poor family. Life can be so unfair and hard to figure out sometimes. I think you are doing very well with your food and exercise given all that you have had going on! And congratulations on little Ashley! You will get your act together, you really already have in many ways. I too have a suckey family history and it really makes me realize the time is now! I hope your sister does well with her surgery. And happy birthday to your husband. My sister was in NM for the balloon festival this weekend, I guess it rained some? Welcome Home and again, I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter's beloved teacher. :grouphug:

 Julie,

I am so sorry to hear about DD's teacher. :( How is everyone doing?

You sound quite busy WISH sis! Don't forget that some well deserved Julie-time can help recharge your batteries! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday to your DH! :sunny:

I hope you have a great week ahead! Take good care of you!

Hi Julie,
I'm worn out just reading how hectic life has been for you!!!
Hope you can get back on track soon, but dont worry, you need time for life to calm down a bit!
Take care
Tracey

:grouphug: You have so much going on! I hope your family realizes how fortunate they are to have you in their lives. You're so giving!! I hope you can take care of yourself during this busy time. Best wishes for a great week. :sunny:

Whew...you were a busy girl even on vacation!! Glad to hear that Ashley is healthy and so is mom and dad.

Hope you are doing well.

Have a great day :)

Goodness, you do know how to be busy! With all you have going on healthy eating, exercise, etc are hard to work in, but keep at it. You can do it. If you slip, then get right back at it the next time. Hang in there. :grouphug:

Busy doesn't even begin to describe yesterday.

Monday night DS17 put his new headlight bulbs in his cycle. Then the cycle didn't start, still won't and changing the bulbs back didn't help. I left yesterday at 7, took DH to work, dropped my Bug at VW (window problems, still and I"ve waited almost a month for an appt.), waited 1.5 hours for a shuttle, then rode it for an hour before getting home w/ enough time to run in to the bathroom and take DS17 to work, then back to DH work to go to Credit Union, pick him up, drive home so he could have the van to go to a Chiro appt on far side of town, then pick DS17 up after work so I didn't have to leave DD home alone for hours after school - which she hates!

We still have 1 running vehicle, DH took DD to bus, went to work , he has a Dr. appt today at "9 - or 10 or something in the morning" he didn't know, DS17 has to be at work by 10:30 5 miles away ( I suggested he walk, but that didn't go over well) and DH is 20 - 30 min away. Then DH has to come home to have the cycle towed, then go down to the cycle shop to fill out the paperwork so they will fix it. And DD has fencing tonight, Hopefully I will be able to pick up the bug, and I'm currently pulling Ebay to package and am supposed to mail today.

Is it any wonder my eating SUCKS and my exercise is sporadic?????

Food was OK yesterday, water wasn't and I'm feeling it today.

Sometime before Friday the van needs an oil change as DD & DH are leaving at 5 a.m. Saturday for Colorado Springs for fencing - hopefully not to get into SNOW going thru the pass. Last year we got snowed in in Pueblo.

I haven't been to WW in 2 weeks and I won't make this week either as I'm to be at the school to help with Choir tomorrow - car permitting. The teacher is being buried in San Antonio on Friday and the choir is having their rescheduled concert/memorial service on Friday and their dresses/tuxes aren't hemmed - they just came in late yesterday. What a week!

I am still planning to do the 1/2 on Sunday. I did 6 miles Monday fine and have managed a 30 - 40 min walk each night, so I'm still on track. It will be COLD!! Supposed to be in the 30's at 7:45 a.m.

Thanks for stopping by, y'all. I know I'm possibly the WORST Weight Watcher and WORST journal visitor in the world, but I'm hoping to get better at both soon!

Happy Hump Day!!

Well, DS17 managed to find a ride to work - had to get there over an hour early, but he took his art history and the laptop. Hopefully he won't just sit & surf the net! Right..... :rotfl:

Called to tell DH & remind him to get a flu shot when he's at the Dr and he about bit my head off. GROUCHY!!!!! He has to come home after the Dr. to take the cycle...oh well, adjust.... it's not like his job doesn't allow it.

WW here has no listed phone, so I walked up to leave a note under the door for the WI person & leader I'm to do the 1/2 with on Sunday. I hope they call as I need to know where to meet/when. I really don't want to do it alone....

I'm very frustrated with my weight and eating. Journaling is non-existent and consequently, I've lost the same pound all year. I rejoined WW in January and still haven't made 10%. I get w/in a pound or 2 and stress kicks in. This HAS TO STOP!!!! I know I can do it if I stick with it, it's the sticking with it and journaling it that I can't do. UGH!!!

Food 10/18:

Decaf NF latte (6)
2 lt bread (2)
turkey(1)
grn olives(2)
pickle(0)
ham(.5)
1 bite twix bar(1)
1 spoon cookie dough(3)
lt bread (1)
ham(1.5)
lt cheese(3)

34 oz decaf tea, 40 oz decaf green tea

80 min walk w/ stroller

The chocolate OOPS occurred when DH decided to have his cycle towed in, too, to do the brake pads. He called, had it towed to the honda dealer near who then said they 'goofed' and couldn't work on it, sorry. So, they continued on, towed the Ninja in, asked if that place could work on the Goldwing, and then , $215 later we were done with towing. DH doesn't see a problem with the first dealer costing us an additional $60+ in towing charges due to them changing their mind - he told them exactly what make, model, year bike he had & what needed done. I have a problem with that!!

Bug is done, they couldn't do anything b/c the window wouldn't act up when in the shop. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! I'm going to start taking pictures!!

Sorry to hear of your frustrations. :grouphug: I can understand how challenging it would be to focus on your healthy choices with so much going on in your life. Just know that we're here for you, whether it's to cheer you on or offer you support. Maybe journalling will help you not only with your weightloss goals, but also help you deal with the everyday issues. Best wishes!!!
