Frankly, I admire them for showing the bad with the good. How hypocritical to only show the perfect. Life isn't like that.
The media attention is like a drug to them, without more babies they will be ignored and they don't like that. She has had a close call do you think she will take note of this or keep having babies until it either kills the next baby or herself?
Me too! I really like the Duggars, but Jim Bob gives me the creeps for some reason that I cannot explain.![]()
So....if this were Kate.....and this was filmed---people would be all over how horrible she is for exposing such private situations to the public eye.
This is ok because it is Michelle Duggar, but Kate letting her 8 kids ride their bikes in the driveway in front of their house is to be filmed is selfish, bad parenting because it doesn't allow the kids to live private lives?
She will probably come home around her due date or when she is over 5 lbs and eating/gaining weight and doesn't have any breathing issues/episodes while she's eating.
I've had 2 kids preemies (one at 30 weeks) and that was kind of the rule of thumb...thriving, 5 lbs, and good breathing.
Now that's not to say that if she won't have long term issues she may stay longer.
More than likely it will be close to whenever her due date was.
What does one have to do with another? Who mentioned Kate?
My sister had a baby at 24 weeks. She is doing great. I hope the same for miss Josie.
My niece was born very premature and she had to stay in the hospital for a long time till she was at least 5lbs and doing good on her own..she also had a number of monitors as well ..she is doing great now ..I hope the same thing will happen with Josie..![]()
Our young lady was in the hostital until her due date. She came home on oxygen and a monitor for the winter, as we waited out our concerns about respiratory problems. I am glad your is doing great, too.
So to everyone saying that this shouldn't be shown, do you all watch shows about katrina, or Haiti, the medical shows on tv, the shows about other tragedies? Do you consider those appropriate, and entertainment?

Generally, no. But those are one time shows, not a long-term series based on 'reality' of a specific family. I am not a fan of kids on reality shows. I like that the Duggars are (or were) not dependent on the show for income and they have previously seemed to be unchanged by being on TV. I think what bothers me is that while going into premature labor they made sure that TLC was there so they could capture it on film. It really strikes me as not right, priority wise. I mean, if in fact they filmed Michelle giving birth to a 25 week preemie. I think it's a little bit sick. There was no way of knowing the outcome at that time, and we can all hope she is doing well now, but what about next time?
