I wanted to get some information on a day trip to Joshua Tree drom Disneyland. What items should we bring etc... How far of a drive is it as well.

I'd say the drive would be between 2 - 3 hours. What were you looking to do out there? The park is absolutely beautiful, but rustic. They do not sell water or food in the park, so make sure to bring your own in. There are several short hikes that you could do within the day, depending on your hiking level. My husband and I rock climb out there and take out all our rock climbing gear, so if you have that, bring it! It is a rock climbing mecca. Crossroads Cafe is a great place to grab a meal.

Depending on what time of the year you are going, it may be extremely warm. We don't usually go camping there after May, because it is over 100 during the day.

we visited Joshua tree last year, and not really anything to do unless like the PP said, no shops or places to buy anything, soi you woiuld need to buy items before entering the park.
My Cousin usually goes camping there a few times a year with their young daughter who loves camping and hiking there, it is a lovely place, around the whole area of yucca Valley.

We are just looking for a relaxing day. We are from the flatlands of Indiana so I think the kids might enjoy going. That is a pretty long drive though for one day there and back.
