Colts fans I have to laugh. Two words...Jim Irsay!!! Who in the world would ever want to work for that fool?
Who's the more foolish....the one worth over a billion dollars, or the one calling that guy a fool?
Irsay is a strange dude, no doubt, but he's also got a big heart and does a lot for people in the community. He's paying the funeral cost of the Colts player and Uber driver that were killed by the drunk driver on Sunday (as one recent example).
He's had his battles with addiction, but that doesn't make him a fool....or unique.
Yes it is bad. How young are you? There is a huge difference between a cashier, an auto mechanic, an engineer, or even an executive position declining after accepting a job. There are 100 other candidates lined up behind that person wanting the job. The company can just go to the next on the list.
NFL coaches, not so much. Everyone has known throughout the playoffs that Sweatshirt Boy accepted the head coaching position. This is a common thing in the NFL, to secure coaches before they can officially sign their contracts. 99.9999% of candidates honor their commitments, it is what is done.
To leave the Colts high and dry without many coaching prospects because all the good ones are in their spots for next season is a crap move beyond compare. If he had even a shred of integrity, he would have fulfilled his commitment for a year to give the Colts a season to recruit a new coach. Then he could go back to the Pats.
McDaniels is a good Offensive Coordinator. He probably got cold feet when it finally sunk in that the world was going to see, yet again, what a horrific head coach he would be. So, because he has no morals, scruples or anything resembling integrity, he waited until the last minute to screw the Colts. If he was so worried about his children moving, he wouldn't have been in active talks the whole time with the Colts about hiring assistant coaches.
Cut the crap about the "horrific head coach" he would be. Belicheck failed in his first head coaching stint with the Browns and now is considered the best coach in the NFL. Plenty of coaches in all sports have failed at their first head job and then have found success the 2nd time around. How about Pete Carroll? Lost with the Jets, didn't do well in New England then goes to USC and wins National Championships and comes back to the NFL and wins a Super Bowl with the Seahawks.
Irsay inherited his money from his daddy!!! I've probably earned more money in my lifetime than Jim Irsay has ever earned himself. So I guess I was foolish not being born to a billionaire.
Jim Irsay is not well thought of around the country.

In a world where NFL franchises are ruthless in firing their head coaches, sometimes in the middle of the season, coaches owe these teams nothing.
McD owed the Colts nothing. He had a change of heart, wanted to stay home, he has every right to do it.
There are still several good coaches available that the Colts can interview. .

I don't think Pete is too welcome at USC. He did leave right before the NCAA cracked down. So both coaches you listed have less than stellar backgrounds when it comes to respecting rules and regulations.
And McDaniels and Bilachick are?
Who dispite his issues has the integrity to assist two people who were killed by a drunk person who was not to be in the US? McDaniels backs out of a deal and leaves 3 men he hired in limbo and Bilachick and Kraft- had a part in offering the jerk money.
Settle down cowboy. I think you have a little too much emotion invested in the Pats. Unless you are Sweatshirt Boy himself, nobody needs to "cut the crap."
He was a horrific head coach. He will most likely be a horrific head coach again if his current actions are any indication. But it is a moot point now. Unless the Pats offer him a head coaching job, he will never coach another team in the NFL. Even his agent believes he is completely unmarketable based on the fact that he dropped Sweatshirt Boy.
Do you know the real reason his agent dropped him? Figure it out it's not too hard and please it has nothing to do with McDaniels "marketability."
You're kidding right? Every big time college football program cheats during recruiting. You do understand that don't you?

It doesn't make him any less un-hireable, though. I doubt that another team will consider him for their head coaching position after how this went down.
I hope everything you are going on about makes you feel better because I don't think you are convincing anyone but yourself.
"But mom, everyone else was doing it too" has never been and will never be an excuse for doing something wrong or against the rules. I don't accept that excuse from my kid, why are adults so willing to accept it from other adults?
