jon03015 (Austin) MAW/GTKTW, Waiting for a date

I just found your PTR! I'm a fellow kidney mommy too. My little one received his second chance at life when he was 18 months old. It's amazing what a working kidney can do for our little miracles isn't it!?! :dance3:
Hope all is going well and y'all are counting down with lots of excitement! Yay for it coming up soon!:cool1:

These are the shirts I just recently ordered. Each one has a special message beneath the picture shown. Austin's reads: The Bravest Boy in the World. I have three kidney's how about you? Emma's: The Bravest, Most Caring, and Patient Sister in the World! Austin is my Hero. Ben and I: Proud Parent of a Wish Kid, and the Bravest Boy in the World!

Here are some of his presents from his party last night. He loves to cook so my Mom made him an apron. And he loves Starwars, bring on the light sabers!

Austin's trip is on the 19th. We are so excited. Health wise he is doing well (knock on wood) and has only had one minor procedure recently. We are going every two months to the Dr to check on his kidney which is wonderful and I never thought that we would get to that point.
Austin and his sister Emma know we are going to Disney World but not when so we are throwing a surprise party for them the night before. Does anyone have any fun ideas for a party? It does have to be low key since we are leaving in the morning but I was thinking pizza and cupcakes??? I don't know.

My daughter is a wish child too, She has Evans Syndrome, right now she is off meds & stable. You will love GKTW, it is the most awesome place. We spent more time there than at the parks, our wish trip was in May 2011.
It looks like you have a great trip planned!! The Monday before our trip, the MAW Volunteer came to the house with a cake, balloons, & a suitcase, & we invited the grandparents & aunt & uncles to help celebrate.

We are planning on returning to DW in Feb of 2013, & we can not wait to visit GKTW again.

God Bless!! Save Travels!!

You have a beautiful family. :) So sorry Austin, and your family, has been through so much. So glad that he received his transplant, is doing so well, and is getting his wish. Love the pictures you posted yesterday, especially in his apron. :)

Karen! It is so nice to meet another kidney Mom. I rarely meet other moms with kids close to Austin's age. I hope you all are doing well. I read on your PTR about the parvo. WOW. Scary. It seems like life is normal (healthy) one day then poof! Something happens. But I wouldn't give up the happy healthy times for anything.

Thank you so much! Happy Birthday to Angel! It is crazy to have Christmas then a birthday all rolled up into one, huh? I push really hard to get all the Christmas decor down before his big day. LOL.

Thank you! :) We keep our Christmas decor up, but try to add birthday decorations the day after Christmas. We've also celebrated on June 30 a couple of times, so she could take friends to the pool.

Here is a video that we will show at Austin's send off party. I am getting nervous to have so many people come to our house. I hope I have enough food planned and seats! I do have the general layout of the party planned. It is a surprise so when they open the door we and turn on the lights we are going to yell "surprise!" and break into a rendition of "He's a Jolly Good Fellow" but the words are as follows:
For they are going to Florida!
For they are going to Universal!
For they are going to Disney World!
To have a very good time!
Then we will have a cake lit with some candles for Austin and his sister to blow out. Then the video, light refreshments, some poster boards with the itinerary and pictures of where we are going. I just realized I left GKTW out of the video! AHHHH! Well I will just have to put it on the poster board. We also have a sign in table with scrapbook paper for people to write messages.
I decided to not do freezer paper shirts since the designs the kids wanted were so crazy complicated. We did iron on transfers instead.

I had something cool happen. I went to Toys R Us and couldn't find a blue ligthsaber. Austin wants to fight Darth Vader with a blue ligthsaber when we go to jedi training. I think they give them lightsabers, but he really wants one. I am trying to get some souvenirs before we go. Okay getting back to Toys R Us. The gal was asking about why I was so set on a blue one and I explained. She was all ears and said "Well then we have to find you that blue ligthsaber!" She called another store that is an hour away and spoke to her manager and figured out a way to have another employee that was going to be driving through, pick it up, and bring it to our store! I was taken a back how they wen out of their way to help us out. Anyway, it might not be that big of a deal, but it was to me.

Really enjoyed the video ! He's sure been through a lot and I am so excited for you guys knowing whats in store for you !!

Glad that I was able to meet you and your family! The kids are so cute!! Hope that you have a great rest of the trip and can't wait to hear about it when you get home! :)
