Jon & Kate: Sad it's ending?

Yes! That was it! I'm afraid we've only seen snippets of Jon's true self. This was pathetic. I feel very sad for Kate for what she has endured with this person.

I see it the other way. I can't believe how she spoke to him!! It's no wonder the kids have "attitude" issues with her as a role model.

Yeah, I couldn't believe some of the things that came out of his mouth last night One thing that really stuck out to me was when he was saying how he's got the "best of both worlds," when he was talking about how he gets to live in NY, and away from the house (and basically responsabilities) and then when he gets sick of the media and stuff, he can come back to the house and "chill." I just kept thinking WTH is going through his mind. All he's talking about is himself and he's talking like he's some single (non-dad, no responsabilities) guy who's living the life right now...ugh.

This really struck me when I was watching too!

So he gets the great place in the city and the country hoiuse "to chill"...I get the impression he doesn't really want to spend all that much time with the kids anymore.

I thought he seemed so weird last night, just talking about himself and talking really fast...DH never watches the show, but he walked by and asked "is he on drugs or something?" It seemed strange.

I'm not sad the show is ending because Jon really does annoy me - I think he comes across as pretty pathetic...but I will miss the kids, they're really cute and it's been fun to watch them grow up.

Don't worry guys, I'm sure TLC will find another just as horrible family to exploit for your entertainment!! And if not, I'm sure they will find a way to get John to allow the taping to start up again. Dolla dolla bill ya'll!!!!

Guys neither one of them are innocent.

Jon has lost his mind and is living his party years.

As far as Kate.

Her family won't talk to her because of the way they were treated.
His family would not talk to him while they were together.
Her friends and the helpers she had with the kids will not talk to her.
Her ex fiance broke it off with her because of the way she treated him.
Her husband left and for the last 4 years we've seen how she talked to him in front of the kids and in front of the cameras.



I'm so tired of Saint Kate. I put the breakup of her marriage on her just as much as Jon if not more. When there are that many relationships that bust and she's the common denominator. Get a clue.

Jon is not as much of a pushover as he would LIKE you to believe. Didn't anyone see how nasty he was to Maddy and Cara when they were making the lemonade signs???? He was talking to them horribly and then punished them for NOTHING! Didn't anyone catch it when Maddy say that she liked it when Mommy was here???? That made him furious. I have never seen such an immature selfish excuse for a man.

I agree that their parents' divorce will be a lot more harmful than having cameras so often follow their every movement, but there's an emotional toll to be paid when your whole life becomes everyone else's business.

The comparisons have been made lots of times here on the CB J&K threads. There's one key difference between these three shows... only one of them has made the show their "lives".

Was the jon interview part done recently? I didn't see all of it, but did see the part about him saying he has the best of both worlds.

I just can't keep thinking that he was stifled for so long by her, that now he's not sure how to act. But at the same time, he has 8 children watching how he acts.

The books those children will write!!!! Barbara Walter special all over it.

I hope that little episode is shown as Exhibit A in the custody hearing. He came across as such a jerk and that is when he was trying to make a good impression. He was wearing that t-shirt that said LIAR LIAR LIAR LIAR. At the end of the lemonade sale he just handed the fire fighters the jar and said "we raised this for you." Anyone who had actually wanted to do a fundraiser would have been anxious to count the money to see how much they'd raised.

Jon's shirt was obviously a message for Kate, TLC and anyone else that was criticizing him at the time that was filmed. Let's not forget that Jon and Kate both wore shirts after the whole Kevin and Jodi thing came out to sort of prove their point.

Kate is a narcissist. Even early on she would say, "They were so happy to have us there" or "They wanted to do this for us" whenever they got a free trip or someone did something for them. TLC is making her out to be the poor single mother victim and she's playing it up for all it's worth. Of course she is upset that she won't be on TV anymore. She thrives for that attention. She can complain about the "P people" all she wants but there will be more tears for her when they all go away too and she realizes that she's not the "star" anymore.

As far as Kate getting her own show, I wouldn't watch. I watched JK+8 because of the kids. I think her 15 minutes of fame is nearing the end.

Your right, Kate does need to get knocked down a few pegs. Her biggest disappointment is no more freebies and trips. What family that has neither parent working a real job traveling around to ski resorts, $10,000 a week beach houses and Hawaii telling us how hard they have it with 8 kids. Welcome back to the real world Jon & Kate!

his marriage ended and he felt "freedom". He stated he met Kate at 20, married at 22, had twins, then the 6 and it was kids and diapers (poop) the whole time he was in his twenties. Well, guess what! That's the way it is when you decide to have kids. It is no longer about you and what you want. The party is over as far as doing as you want like a single person. This is the sacrifice you make as a parent. Hopefully, even if he & Kate don't get back together, he will realize what he is doing and come to know his children should come first.

I agree Kate rode him hard and belittled him. Not to defend her, but it is very common for mothers of even one child to become resentful when she feels like she is expected to do it all and the husband isn't helping out. I guess there were times when she felt overwhelmed and lashed out like she did. I often wondered if it was shown just to add to the drama of the show, as I couldn't imagine him wanting the world to see her treat him like that, but evidently it actually was for real.

I'll miss the old episodes, I stated watching when they first started out on TLC and those episodes were great. Hopefully, TLC will still air those especially since my DVR accidently bumped out the Jon and Kate plus 8 Hit the Road episode, it's one of my favorites.

According to my Dish receiver TLC will re-air that episode on 12-2-09 8 AM MST.

Another person glad the show is over. Jon & Kate have both changed for the worse if you ask me. They are both out for their own interests. Despite all their talk of it's all for the kids. I think they both have become addicted to the attention & Kate especially seems to think she is a big celebrity.

This is pretty much how I feel too.
