I'm snarky and condescending, and while I'm not a praiser of Kate, I certainly don't think that she deserves the criticism she receives.

And no, I'm not Kate or Jon.

There are those of us out there who just watch the show for what it's worth. Makes Monday nights alot more pleasant. You should try it sometime.

Well, that is because you have never met her, I have- a few times actually. And she is not friendly, at all. I am not watching her show because I am not going to contirbute to her ego any further. It's already big enough.

Like taking all 8 kids to a FURNITURE store, not having many extended family relationships, not having her 6 4 yr olds in 1/2 day preschool, being on tv very regularly...

I don't think she's evil or bad either.

I was just thinking that if I wanted to drag my kids around to Disney, skiing, and other special things (which I do!!!!!!! LOL) then I would not be able to handle OR afford 8. I have to say I think Kate is pretty damn smart to get to do all those things even with 8 kids. She has found a way to afford it and make it happen. Now I think they're all suffering a little (or maybe a lot) from go-go-go disease. We have that here too with 3 jobs and NOT 8 kids, but with 8 I would surely have a nervous breakdown!

ETA: Forgot to add my grandmother's favorite saying: Something's got to give!!!

You guess? There's no guessing - people are entitled to their opinions about the show - both positive and negative.

I didn't point it out to her...I just laughed about it behind her back and only on this board. I was raised right! (or at least right for the south).

ITA pp Kate should have pre-shopped the beds. I do that all the time with my kids and my husband. I don't think my poor husband has ever seen a full selection of furniture for a room. It is more like--"I like this, this or this...you can pick between those three."

I guess I just didn't pay attention because that really didn't bother me and I didn't see it as a commercial.

Earlier this year the Duggar Family began filming for an ongoing weekly series titled 17 Kids and Counting, scheduled to debut on October 1, 2008. This series is being produced for Discovery Health by Figure 8 Films, the same company producing the Jon & Kate Plus Eight series.

A ratings war ... Gosselin vs. Duggar. I wonder who will win?
