PrincessPiglet -- I can't find your post about Cocoa Castle, but I recall you saying that other familes weren't allowed to use the park while they were taping, and that you could see people in the background huddled together glaring (or words to that effect, my apologies if I misinterpreted them.) I rewatched the episode last night, and as far as I could tell, there were lots of other families around. You could tell who wasn't the Gosselins by the fact that they weren't wearing red or striped shirts (and that's not to say that all the kids in red shirts were the Gosselins.) There were even other kids on the swings when Jon was pushing the two kids. What did I miss?
Now, this is fascinating ... all of the archived pages of Jon & Kate's website:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://sixgosselins.com
a couple of side notes: the first TV appearance was the Martha Stewart Show in October 2005, then Dr. Phil in April 2007. The show on TLC also began in April 2007.
I have a question ... it came to me as I was looking at some of these archived pages. And it isn't a JK8 specific issue, I just happened to think of it as I was reading the constant prayer requests on their website for financial assistance.
Why is it that some people who have multiples or large families think that it's ok to create websites suggesting (subtly or blatantly, as the case may be) ways for people to help them? There are many families - some on TV, some not - that do this. I don't understand it. It's a financial hardship to have a family of any size. It's a sacrifice. Families are created every day, yet most don't have websites with a heading "how you can help" and ways to donate goods, services, or money. Maybe I'm missing the boat here, maybe I should have a website for my family of 3 - I've got a child in college, maybe people would like to donate to his tuition fund, or the fund of my other two children? I mean, I wasn't expecting to become pregnant with baby #3.... I'd only planned on having two children... it would be nice for someone else to pick up the tab for the unexpected expenses we've incurred with baby #3 ...![]()
FergieTCat, I can't find your post so I am replying this way, sorry!
What I said was- the cameraman asked us to move out of the shot and to move to the other side of the playground to give the kids more room to play. We said no. As did all of the other parents that were asked to move. A few of us, I would say 6-7 moms gathered together near the swings and were talking about it. That is when we got the eye glares and eye rolling from Kate in our direction. You can find my post again, it is on page 165, if you are still curious. And no, I never said we weren't allowed to use the park or that even anyone left the playground.

I think I figured it out...Are you Jon? Are you rebelling from Kate because you have to do all the work and it's making you mad? It's okay to be mad.
I found this link from another board.... scroll up to the picture:

I love the show! And I use to love reading these posts. But today is the last day for me. This thread is filled with so much hate and jealousy. Sure Kate and Jon do some things that make me roll my eyes. But there are far worse things going on in the world that demand our indignation than two parents trying to do what they feel is best for their family. There are posters on this thread that I would never welcome into my home for fear of being unjustly judged and condemned. So goodbye. I am done.

I think I drew the line when J&K canceled church appearances because those churches couldn't afford their $25k (plus travel expenses) speaking fees.
Why do j&k lovers always accuse their critics of jealousy? Most of us who are critical used to be huge fans. The love stopped when the true colors of these people were revealed.
I am not jealous of people that have more than me. I am all about capitalism, getting paid for the hard work you do, getting to keep that money, and do whatever the heck you want with it. However, diva behavior, exploiting babies, and cashing in on your personal family drama just isn't cool in my book. Neither is cutting loving family members out of children's lives over greed.
Plus, it's fun to gossip about TV shows and celebrities!
