I don't like seeing the kids go to the bathroom either. I still can't believe she makes them sit there for 30 minutes if they don't go. That seems excessive.

She doesn't. Those clips are from a few years ago when she was trying to toilet-train the boys. And, quite honestly, I think that's the way alot of people do it - have them sit there as long as they can until they go.

Yes, you're remembering the episode correctly - Jon had the kids and thought it would be easier to put the potty seats out in the driveway (the boys were the only ones not potty-trained yet) I believe it was Colin who lingered out there for awhile; I don't recall any of them complaining about being filmed either. A pp is claiming though, that during the photo shoot episode, Kate made one of the kids sit outside, against their will, in a potty seat - I don't recall that happening.

That actually took place the day that Kate and Beth went to Ikea and got furnitue. Jon and Bob had the kids and for some reason, put them in the driveway. :)

 I'm sure some equally crazy things happen when we leave our kiddos with the guys!! Hehe!!

I think the episode with Joel being sick and on the laundryroom floor is the show about the twins going to cooking class (it's pathetic I know that!;) ) It was just on the other day.

Joel is placed on 2 lightweight sheets, with a pillow ... in the laundry room. Kate makes the comment that if they are bad about hitting the bucket, they are put in the laundry room. It's a central location.

He was in the laundry room when Jon came home, lights off, door closed. The washers & dryers are all running. Kate had apparently checked on him earlier, as he was burning up and Jon asked if she'd given him anything.

Later in the epiode, Jon moves Joel to their room to watch TV. Sometime during dinner, Joel throws up. Jon cleans it up.

That's what happens in the episode. I just watched the whole thing.

Whoever said, upthread, that Joel wasn't in the laundry room with the door closed in the dark was incorrect. It most certainly did happen.

With that said, I did not get the sense that he was "banished" to the laundry room. It was simply stated that that's where the sick kids end up.

It's not a style of parenting that I agree with ... specifically, keeping the door closed in another part of the house. Jon clearly states in a voiceover that "sometime" during dinner Joel threw up. He didn't know when. I found that sad, not because Jon is a bad parent, but because it isn't the way I parent. I would have the same opinion of anyone in that situation. I'm a cuddler when my kids are sick. I like to be where I can check on them, sit with them, etc. I don't like for them to be alone. That's jut how I am.

We were recently in Germany where it often costs 50 cents to use a public rest room. My husband kept trying to talk DS17 into going behind a tree rather than to spend the 50 cents. (DS17 refused every time.) I won't judge Jon on his potty issues with his sons if he won't just DH on his potty issues with his son.;)

I'm with you too - I'm a cuddler with my girls when they are sick; but, then again, I only have two!

I also got the impression that, even though the door may have been closed, Kate had been checking on him because when Jon said he was burning up, she mentions she had just given him something.

I think you're right ... this is what I observed (and noted ;) ) as I was watching:

Are there new episodes on tonight?

Ok I'm admitting that this show and the drama surrounding it recently has become a small obsession of mine. I've been browsing the many blogs and discussion boards talking about this show and the Gosselins. And wow - this is by far the nicest and tamest one I've read. Anyway, one of the boards I read (and I know I should give the name of it to show it's "credibility", but I've been skimming through so many that I can't remember - maybe "fans of reality tv"?). Anyway a woman posted saying that she was at Sesame Place with her family the same day that J&K were there, filming this episode. She recognized the kids of course, J&K, the crew and a "mystery woman" pushing one of the strollers (other posters suspected it was Kate's new nanny, the one replacing jodi). She commented that the kids all looked miserable and were confined to their strollers the entire time, despite the minimal crowds at the park and the large group they were traveling with. It sounded semi-juicy and made me look forward to tonight's episode to see what they show and how it all plays out.

Also, I believe an episode coming up is titled "Looking for Property". Could this be the episode where J&K purchase some property and build the "McMansion" in NC to be "closer" to the production crew?

According to GwoP, they will be or already have gone to Hawaii, where Jon and Kate renewed their vows. Can't wait for that episode!

Oh yeah - I read that also on a couple forums too.

The "looking for property" episode is supposed to air 2 weeks from tonight - 8/11 I think?

I was under the impression that the kids go as well - they "supposedly" will be there August 12th (or I should say some of jon's family who live in hawaii are going to their hotel on this day - maybe this is the day of the voew renewal). So this episode hasn't actually been filmed yet - will be in the next couple weeks.

I bet this is yet another free trip for Jon and Kate!!!!!!!

I first want to say that I know we don't see everything that was taped. However, from what they did show in this episode, it looks like everyone had a great time! No drama and no major outbursts. I mean it was a long hot day - someone is bound to have a meltdown, right? More proof IMO that people like to stir the pot when it comes to telling stories about J&K.
