Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

Sony, as it turns out Her Canon S1 (maybe S2) was replaced by a much smaller Sony at some point. Maybe it was a gift. LOL.

I thought that the camera she was complaining about was a Kodak. It looks exactly like the old Kokak I had.

Yeah...it drove me crazy during the Disney show....I just kept saying, "omg, get a new camera!!"

I've been reading the past few days...haven't had the energy to actually respond. Like jumping in the lion's den

I did want to say that I very strongly remember Kate saying that Job gave her a new camera for Christmas in one of the episodes. She even remarked how she likes it because it is pink. I suppose she could have been lying but that seems a pretty stupid thing to lie about for episode's sake.

did you have the same troubles with your camera that Kate did with hers?

I was thinking along the same lines during the Disney show - it was well documented that she didn't love the camera before they took the trip... if it was me, I would have gotten a new camera beforehand. I take my picture-taking pretty seriously, though. LOL

who said Kate was lying?

A PP mentioned Kate went on about how much she hated her camera, implying she was hinting heavily to get a new one ... and maybe Kodak or Canon was listen. I pointed out it was Sony, because that's the brand of camera Kate is using now. I went on to say that maybe it was a gift.

Now, how do I know it's a Sony? Because in a very recent episode, the production camera zoomed in really close and showed it was a Sony. That would suggest (to me, anyway) a pretty blatant product placement ..maybe not? Maybe Sony called Jon and invited him to pick out a camera for Kate. Either way, she seems happy with the new one.

"The clinic offered the plugs to Jon for free. I'm pretty sure most people would take them up on the offer. The kids also got to spend the three days with other family members, which is fun for them, I'd guess."


Nothing is really free. He paid alot for that hair; just not money. The kids may have had more fun if they hadn't been throwing up. I'm sure, Jodi(?) had fun with twelve kids for a few days. Wonder how much help Figure 8 provided her while they were filming Jon and his surgery? I don't know... it's all so silly. I truly hope the kids are okay with all of this. I agree with pp, they'll probably be humiliated by the show some day, if not already.

The total cost for those hairplugs was $20,000.00

Well...I didn't love the camera, and I was pretty happy when I dropped it last summer at Epcot and I had to get a new one!!

I wanted the Canon S3 but I had just bought the Kodak not long before and I couldn't justify buying a new one, then I dropped the Kodak so it was off to Walmart to get the one I wanted!!

If the children were so sick, why didn't he reschedule the surgery? It wasn't a life-saving procedure ... that's what I've always wondered.

Why didn't he go with Kevin instead, and leave Kate at home?

that's a valid point ... I'm not sure I'd want to go across the country for a painful procedure with my SIL, though. I think I'd rather my husband come along for something like that. I would definitely reschedule for sick kids, though.

Kate Gosselin isn't my favorite TV personality, but I'd hardly call her the spawn of the devil. LOL.
