Okay just saw on radaronline that Jon has been living with his brother but moved out and has rented an apartment in Reading, PA with several bedrooms. Could he actually by using common sense??

I hope so!

Dare we hope? I suppose stranger things have happened, right? I sincerely hope it's true.

And TMZ is saying Jon and Kate need to take a parenting class.
Jon and Kate Gosselin better stock up on their #2 pencils -- TMZ has learned the reality parents have each been required to go to a court-mandated parenting class.

The judge in their bitter custody dispute has ordered both Jon and Kate to complete a 3-hour parenting class titled "Children in the Middle" -- a requirement for all parents involved in a custody war in Berks County, PA.

We're told Jon and Kate will NOT be required to take the class together -- in fact, parents are often encouraged to take separate classes ... for obvious reasons. They have until June 8 to complete the class.

As for the course material -- the parents will learn about the dangers of exposing their children to loyalty conflicts ... like when one parent talks smack about the other parent's financial situation.

Just trying to lighten it up LOL.

I have to figure out the boys from the girls before I name them..not always easy when this young and this furry LOL. But yes, those are the kinds of matched names I love. I think you are looking for Eddie. Lumpy? Hmm..not so sure about that one LOL.

Names from Little House on the Prairie - Mary, Laura, Caroline, Grace, Charles, Albert, James, & Edward

Mary Poppins (the books, not necessarily the Disney movie) - Mary, Jane, Winnifred, Ellen, Bert, Michael, George, Andrew

The Brady Bunch - Marcia, Jan, Cindy, Carol, Alice, Greg, Peter, Bobby, Mike

Good luck! (And do start them their own thread with pictures.)

Just when you thought Jon was actually using some of his brain cells and working out child custody with Kate he hired another lawyer.
Jon Gosselin has hired experienced family law expert Mary Vidas to represent him in his custody battle with his wife Kate Gosselin, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star recently fired his last attorney, Anthony List, after he blasted Kate as the pair try and settle their differences.

Shortly after an online story quoted Anthony List blasting Kate Gosselin for being a "shameless promoter," Jon Gosselin took to his Twitter to announce that he had fired List a week ago!

EXCLUSIVE: Jon Gosselin Finds A New Place To Live

"Mr. Anthony List Sr., Esq. is not my representing attorney; I terminated him on April 15, 2010," Jon wrote last week.

List later told RadarOnline.com that he was only trying to protect his client and that he had not had official notice that he was off the case.

But RadarOnline.com has learned today that Kate’s lawyer Mark Momjian has been notified that Vidas is now handling the case.

Vidas, 50, is a highly respected Philadelphia lawyer who is described as having a ‘forceful personality’ - she made her name at the 400 strong attorney firm Blank Rome where she is now a partner

She grew up in New Jersey and has represented clients from Cape May, New Jersey, to Lancaster to Scranton, Pa, and specializes in custody cases.

She lists her mentors as her father – a co-owner of the Acme Piano Co., a longtime fixture of Philadelphia commerce.

She and her husband, a legislative affairs executive for a major oil company, live in Haddonfield, N.J.; they have two daughters, one attending the University of Miami Law School and the other, still in high school, is an enthusiastic rower.

Vidas spends her free time organizing parents to support the Haddonfield Crew Club. She enjoys theater, is a voracious reader and will engage in an occasional round of golf.

“A lot of lawyers also don’t like courtrooms. I’m not one of them – courtrooms have not bothered me,” she once revealed.

Sources have told RadarOnline.com that both Jon and Kate are working behind the scenes to try and resolve their differences.

Vidas will represent Jon Gosselin at his next custody hearing at Berks County Court in Reading, Pennsylvania next month.

In NJ the parenting class is required now for all divorcing parties that have children. My Dsis is one of the teachers for it. She said its not hard but focuses on reminding the parents that there are innocent lives stuck in the middle. So they teach them things like "Don't say anything bad about the other parent." "Don't bash your soon to be ex ILs." "That miserable ex-MIL is actually your child's grandmother."
It really isn't that big of a deal. I'm really surprised they didn't take them. And in NJ, doesn't matter if you're a celebrity or not, you take the class with all the other parents. And yes, parents take them separately so if they wish to raise questions they can.

Hmm, I'm glad Jon and Kate will have to take the classes, but they will probably let all the advice go over their heads.

I can't picture Kate actually sitting down and allowing someone to try to teach her anything, especially about her kids. I feel sorry for the teacher.

One would hope--but only time will tell.

Anything so far that he has done that seems to be "the right move" or "using common sense"---have all come out to be much ado about nothing as he retreats back to caring about himself.

****

On the parenting class--very interesting. Though I'm not sure I agree with courts mandating parenting. But in this case--since the couple is "warring" over custody, it would make sense. But for a couple that is "on-board" for an amicable divorce...not feeling the need to require a class. It's not required in my state.

Looks like Kate's book is failing to make big money (forgive me if this has been posted already:goodvibes)

Kate Gosselin's New Book BombsUs Magazine - April 29, 2010 8:17 PM PDT

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagicUs Magazine Kate Gosselin's latest book isn't exactly flying off the shelves.

Since its April 13 release, "I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith, and Family" has sold just 10,084 copies, according to national book sales tracker Bookscan. The non-fiction title debuted at #11 on the New York Times' non fiction bestseller list, and at #103 on USA Today's bestsellers chart. By Thursday afternoon, its Amazon.com rank was #862.

This is in spite of Gosselin's relentless promotion of the tome on TV and radio -- plus her ubiquitous presence on Dancing with the Stars prior to her ouster last week.

Jim Milliot, business and news director of book-industry magazine Publishers Weekly, tells UsMagazine.com that the numbers "nowhere near a blockbuster" and "not that impressive."

By contrast, the 35-year-old mom's first two books, "Multiple Blessings" and "Eight Little Faces", both climbed to number five on the New York Times' list; "Multiple Blessings" sold 523,000 copies in 2009.

Could "I Just Want You to Know" end up selling 500,000 copies in the long run? Not likely, Milliot tells Us, explaining that the lion's share of book sales typically occur "in the first month or two of publication." He adds that Gosselin will have "a very tough time getting to 50,000, let alone 100,000...I think it will be a disappointment in the end."

The book "continues [Kate's] story of faith and family," an Amazon description reads. "Using excerpts and written prayers from her journal, Kate offers an intimate look at the heart of a mother during the three years her family transitioned from obscurity into television fame."

Did anyone expect the book to sell especially well?

Here's a blog at CBN. It is a religious site but the blog is about Kate, not religion.

However, I think Pamela Anderson is a fine parent and I don't judge her for being a Playboy bunny. Go figure! I do cast judgement on those who seemingly sell their kids for fame and fortune and parade them around the driveway for photo ops. But that's just me. ;)

The one thing she said that I am glad that Kate didn't take her advice, was that she could have made the contract state that her kids would go with her. Can you imagine the flack she would have gotten if she pulled her kids out of school, away from their home, to sit in a hotel room while Kate practiced and did the show? And they would have been away from their dad.

I assume Pam is a good mom, but since I didn't even know she had kids, I couldn't say. I thought she was single and having fun fun fun before DWTS

I am not suprised that Jon has "allowed" his children to be taped for Kate plus 8. It is reported that he also will get a paycheck by TLC so he is happy. I think the ego issue for him has lessened because his name was not on the New program the first time around, he got jealous and stopped the taping but now he has ran out of money, he is "using" his children for his paycheck which ironically is the reason he said he stopped the taping of Kate plus 8.

I wondered how he was going to pay for his new partment and now I have my answer. TLC is paying him also for Kate plus 8.:sad2:

Just goes to show you that even the good people over at CBN aren't being fooled by Kate. I agree with that article 100% and I have always said that Kate is addicted to the fame and fortune, and there is no way that she would rather be home with her kids and she should just admit it.

Funny, a few years ago, CBN actually had Kate on there and interviewed her, they were so pleased with her. Guess the tides have changed.

I have to say, that I am THRILLED that her book isn't doing very well, I can't imagine putting out letters to my kids for all to read.

I am hoping her 30 minutes are gone, she is way over the allowable 15 minutes of fame.

I thought he stopped the taping the first time, because he told TLC that if they didn't release him from his contract or at least let him pursue other avenues, he would stop the taping. They wouldn't and so he stopped it. Then they took him to court, sued him, and apparently made a deal, and now he gave permission to start taping them again. At least that's how I thought it went.

That's not how I took it though. Not that it makes me right but it's not how I interpreted it. When he went on Larry King Live he sat there and vehemently said that his kids *needed* to be off the show. That he has to do what is best for them and that meant not filming them anymore. He even went so far as to say that one of them (or several, I can't recall exactly) wanted to stop. The whole tone of that interview was that he was the caring, compassionate Dad who had his kids' best interest at heart. Of course now we know what it all boiled down to...him getting his fair share of the profits. He's allowed the kids to be filmed again so I can't really believe his motives on Larry King Live were genuinely about the kids welfare.

Oh, I know what he said at the time LOL. But then I also know what was said in the days and lawsuit that followed, and that he was willing to let them tape, if he could be free. He used them, as I remember it, for blackmail. I believe he tried to bargain, and TLC wouldn't, even taking a chance that the show would end because of it. At that point it became that it was best for the kids. Now his old contract will be up soon and it's bargaining time once again.

I think Jon says what he says to win brownie points. I don't think he believes a word of what he says--rather...if it benefits him, then he'll say the kids are aren't fine...and if that is no longer benefitting him, he will flip flop.

He has changed his tune so many times--that I think what he is doing is really fighting with Kate more than anything when he makes those types of statements.

I'm not in favor of banning the kids from all filming forever--I believe their parents should decide for their family what is best for their situation. So I do come from that perspective.

It seems that what is best for their situation, ebbs and flows based on Jon or Kate's mood at the time. Whether or not it is truly for the best, no one can know for sure as we are all outsiders with varying opinions. But one thing is for certain--both parents have lacked consistency in their statements.

I think Doris has it right--the kids are used as a pawn in blackmail so that Jon can get his way. (While Kate clearly uses them to garner sympathy from the public.)

Isn't it wonderful that they are middle school aged, have two celebrity parents and you didn't know about them? I think that says a lot about she and Tommy's choices.

Eh, I dunno about what kind of parents they are, but one thing is for sure, they are not trying to make a living off their kids or their ability to have kids - so that pretty much makes a big difference between her and Kate right there.
