I'm sure that Kate was compensated for her days on The View, the skit on Jay Leno, Ellen as well as all of the speaking engagements and book signings that she does.

The only ones that she probably was not paid for would be LKL and the Today show.

Ellen is a paid gig?

How are shows like Ellen booked? Is that something that Ellen's people contacted Kate's people to see if she'd be interested in being a guest? Or is it the other way around, where Kate's people contact the Ellen show to let them know Kate will be in LA, available to appear? Or could it be an either/or situation?

I would guess, and this is just a guess - I'm sure someone here will have the real answer - that it could go either way. I'm sure there are people/celebs or their agents calling any and all talk shows to get themselves or their client on (maybe a "less known" star/person). Then there are the guests that the show is hunting down (like the pilot who landed in the Hudson River - just an example!) trying to get on to boost ratings. I'm not sure where Kate would fall right now. There's not a lot of drama and such (no missing money, no divorce announcement, ect) to bring huge ratings or "break" some big news on their show.

Is Ellen in LA or NYC? I read in one of the articles today that it was taped which made me wonder how long ago the show was taped. Knowing where they tape Ellen would probably help. Kate hasn't been to LA for awhile right? And not NYC recently that we know of??

Ellen is taped in LA. I don't think I've ever seen her show shown live.

it comes on here at 4:00pm. Not sure if I'm going to watch.

Kate was in LA on Monday which could be when it was taped.

Duh! For the conference! Thank you! :goodvibes

Maybe that's why she couldn't be at the conference until later in the evening? I'm surprised nothing leaked out about the interview before today...

Despite rumors floating around on various tabloid sites, Jon Gosselin is NOT going to hook up with Octomom Nadya Suleman for a new dating reality show. Although we did laughingly suggest it might be a good career move for Jon Gosselin, we didn’t honestly think anyone would really claim such a thing was actually going to happen.

Apparently though, In Touch Weekly thought spreading the rumor Octomom and Jon Gosselin really were going to get it on for a new reality show would be a hot ratings grab. The tabloid reportedly went crazy with an obviously ridiculous (and alleged) quote from former Cheaters producer Bobby Goldstein, who said Octomom Nadya Suleman and Jon Gosselin had agreed to sign on for a reality dating show.

“I heard that Nadya has an insatiable desire to spend time with Jon and to put their families together,” Goldstein allegedly told the tabloid. “And I had the idea that this could be a very entertaining fiasco.”

Just for the record, although Suleman has admitted to a crush on Jon Gosselin, reps for both the Octomom and Gosselin have denied any involvement in a dual reality show featuring the two hooking up. “This is the first I’ve even heard of it,” Gosselin’s manager said. “This isn’t happening.”

To which we have to say, thank god!

OUR long national nightmare could be over, now that we've probably seen the last original episode of "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

Monday night's "Jon & Kate," which featured an hourlong question-and-answer session with mom Kate Gosselin, is the last fresh episode of the series before it goes into reruns next month.

TLC basically ran out of original footage after Jon Gosselin barred the network from filming his eight kids for the reality show, now in its fifth season and on life support in the wake of Jon and Kate's ugly, bitter divorce.

On Monday's episode, Kate gave some read-between-the-lines comments in closing the show when asked by a viewer if she wanted to "set the record straight" about the reality show.

"So whether the wind blows and certain opinions change, I'm just sad to see it go, to be honest," she said, "because I feel like the kids are going to miss out on things in the future."

Ironically, Monday's episode pulled in 3 million viewers, the show's best numbers in nine weeks dating back to early August.

But, at this point, no one knows if the show--which had supposedly been renamed "Kate Plus 8" to reflect its future episodes --will ever resurface in any form after the repeats air next month.

"This is the last episode for which we have completed filming," a TLC spokeswoman said yesterday. "We remain suspended."

It's believed that, behind the scenes, neither the network nor Kate are pushing Jon to rescind his ban on filming the kids.

And, until that is resolved -- one way or another -- the show remains in flux as the bickering couple grapple with other legal issues related to their impending divorce.

For now, TLC will air "J&K" repeats for the next three weeks: "Top Moments" (Nov. 9); "Gymnastics and Baseball"/"Never Before Seen" (Nov. 16); and "It's a Crazy Life, But It's Our Life" (Nov. 23).

The Nov. 2 episode airing on TLC won't be called "Jon & Kate" or even "Kate Plus 8."

In a head-scratching move, NBC's Natalie Morales will interview Kate Gosselin for a one-hour TLC special, "Kate: Her Story."

After that, it's not known what will air in the "J&K" timeslot.

Kate, however, is keeping busy. She said on Monday's show that she wants to act, and she's made no secret of her desire to continue a TV career. She's also shot a talk-show pilot helmed by Food Network's Paula Deen.

She has another project in the hopper at TLC that's scheduled to bow sometime next year.

Kate Gosselin reportedly fears her estranged husband Jon Gosselin stole her diary and will release it to the media. Sources say Gosselin’s diary consisted of her most intimate thoughts on her troubled marriage to Jon, their sex life and her feels about having 8 children.

“She left the diary on her nightstand by accident and was praying it’d still be there when she got back, but it wasn’t,” says a source. “The kids told Kate they didn’t steal it, so she thinks Jon might have. She’s flipping out!”

Kate is “distraught,” the insider says, and fears Jon will “sell it so he could make some money and embarrass her at the same time.”

“Some of her deepest thoughts were in there,” adds the source.

Meanwhile, the former Jon and Kate Plus 8 stars seemed to have worked out their financial problems with the help of court orders and a divorce arbitrator. Jon recently complied with a court order to return $180,000 to their joint bank account while Kate accounted for $55,000 she spent on household expenses.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 can't get out of the starting gate this season, hampered by Jon Gosselin's court order that bans cameras from the family home.

The state of Jon & Kate has television execs scrambling to fill time.

Kate Gosselin will appear on Monday, Nov. 2, in an hour-long interview with NBC's Natalie Morales.

"Kate Gosselin is ready to tell all," TLC says on its Jon & Kate web site.

"In this raw and illuminating interview Kate will let her guard down and speak candidly.

"This is Kate Gosselin as we've never seen her before. Viewers will learn just what life is like for the now single mother of eight."

The network plans a best moments show for Nov. 9 and a new footage show on Nov. 16.

Meanwhile, we'll be hearing a lot more from Kate if the breathless divorcee has her way.

On a end of season wrap on Monday, TLC featured a Q+A with Kate, where she talked about her hair, and a desire to be a voice on an animated film.

And, she addressed the real question on the minds many North American males: Will she marry again?

"I struggle because I really don't want to be married," Kate says. "Can you blame me? Nobody's going to buy into my mess. I'll probably be alone, but that's okay."

I guess I didn't realize that Jon had a court order so no filming could occur.

Since we've been talking about Table for 12 here...

No more "Jon & Kate Plus 8"?

No problem--meet the 12-member Hayes brood from New Jersey.

TLC has announced the return of "Table For 12," which premiered last March and returns Nov. 12 (technically the second half of Season One).

The announcement arrives, coincidentally or not, just as "Jon & Kate" seems to have finally ended in the wake of Jon and Kate Gosselin's bitter divorce.

TLC doesn't know if, or when, that show will ever return with new episodes after going into repeats next month.

"Table For 12" follows Eric and Betty Hayes, the parents of three sets of multiples (including five-year-old sextuplets).

ITA...but I can't tell you how skeptical I am about Jon's motives...I would embrace the Rabbi's recent assessment of Jon's efforts to clean up his act if he (Jon) didn't have his girlfriend spilling her guts on TV with Starr and Kathy in the meantime...right now, I think that Jon's actions just speak a lot louder than his words...maybe in time, he can "grow into" his words...but for right now he is a pitiful example of a loving, caring father....

I don't think the Rabbi is finished with him yet. It's hard to know if anything will come of this, but IMO it couldn't hurt.

I never saw his show--but yes, he had one. I believe he went into homes that were troubled and riddled with issues that made for a very unhappy home life (marriage and/or kids)--and essentially counseled them through it.

So he isn't doing anything out of character.

I do find it odd though that he is doing anything at all and I wonder who reached out to whom and what the motivation is behind this match up.

Like I wonder--are there cameras involved and we'll get a "Jon's Side with Reverend Schmuli" show?

Rabbi Shmuley is a friend of Mike Heller, Jon's manager and the son of Mark Heller.

The event is part of a series of debates and discussions presented by the Jewish Values Network. Here's the posting:
http://www.jewishvaluesnetwork.org/events.php#nov1

Tickets are cheap! It seems that many of the previous ones have videos posted on Youtube, but they're really the home movie quality type of video.

But we never trust Kate's words when her actions don't match. I am unclear as to why Jon's words are given so much credibility over his actions when they don't match.

I disagree with this. It seems like the pro-Kate posters believe everything she says, but even those who consider themselves on the opposite side of the debate don't give either of them much credibility. It's more of a "well, I would agree with that statement" type of reaction eg. when he stopped filming at the house, many of us agreed that it was the right thing to do, but we didn't say we believed him when he said why he did it -- there had to be more evidence to validate his statements.

He SHOULD have noticed. You always look at at cake (as he did) before taking it to make sure it meets your satisfaction.

ITA! I was always the one sent to the store to pick up my brother's birthday cakes, and there were several times they spelled his name (Alan) wrong. It was never a big deal to have it fixed, even at a grocery store bakery or on an ice cream cake. Having said that, I would never trust my DH to check my daughter's birthday cake to make sure her name was spelled right or was decorated the way she wanted it, let alone know what to do if something was done wrong. :lmao:

Wow -- I just changed my mind about this while I was writing my post. It's possible that Jon did notice, but he was clueless.

Yes, that's the way it's done -- the agent or the manager (if the person doesn't also have an agent) gets a cut of the pay or gets a fee (if it's a non-paying job)

I thought she had locks on the bedroom door. :confused3

Must have been cranky after having nobody show up at her booth the other day. Accusing a person of doing something that hasn't even been done yet? This is ridiculous -- there are so many people in that house, including the 8 kids, that there is no way of knowing who took it even if she had accidentally left the door unlocked.

And what could be in her diary that we haven't already heard about from one side or the other.:rolleyes1

If true and he did steal it (not saying he did just commenting on the possibility)--

that would make him a disgusting pig not worthy of sympathy ever again.

How can one be a good father and due something so cruel to his children's mother????

I just can't imagine.

I hope it isn't true--but then....where's the diary if Kate cannot find it?

It doesnt' matter what is in the diary--but noone should ever steal someone's private thoughts.

I live my life a pretty open book, but the things I have written down are for therapy and not meant to be published. It would be humiliating.

I'm not saying he did steal it--

But I am puzzled as to how you can justify it and essentially cast it off as no big deal.

Actually--I would be apalled at anyone who feels this is "okay" in any way IF TRUE.

New article on Jon on People.com with quotes from Hailey. Per Hailey, Jon is emotionally abusive! :scared1: But she's not going to leave him.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20315943,00.html

Anger, "mantrums" and lies--not exactly a good thing to publish and certainly something Kate could use against him.

Perhaps Jon should rethink his circle of "friends".

Wow--I don't think it was appropriate at all for Hailey to mention that to the press.

Certainly can tell she's still naive in many ways.

And if even half of what she says is true, why is she staying with him??? :confused3

And oh yeah, he definitely needs a clean sweep in the "friend" department. Of course, I'm not sure he knows how to pick them.
