Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread--Part 7

Lurker, but jumping in to say that I give Jon the benefit of the doubt that he's sincere in asking for help in getting his life straight and doing the best for his kids. I think both Jon and Kate have let things get to their heads, and I have no favoritism one over the other. I'm thinking Jon is really concerned about the way the kids live. At first he thought it was great to be the famous Gosslin family, but now he's seen the light as far as his kids are concerned. Just my opinion.

I think Jon's publicist (not unlike Kate's), is finally jumping aboard the bandwagon. If he was sincere, he would drop the kid he's dating, drop the cigarette's (I seldom see a picture of him without one), change his clothes, for God's sake, and start doing more mature things.

Madge would prob know just when it was..she seems to keep track. I only have my mind and that's fried for these guys..but I believe she took it out right after they announced the divorce, but put it back. I don't know if she was told to hide it, though. That advice does seem to happen a lot. I see people on the dis giving that advice to people who post their marriage is going down the tubes. Some have said their lawyer suggested it when they thought their hubby was cheating.

Was this advice given before the arbitrator was assigned? Wouldn't Kate's lawyer be in some kind of trouble for counseling her to take $100,000 and hide it yet he slammed Jon's lawyer for supposedly counseling Jon to take out that money? Remember that petition where Kate's lawyer spent a great deal of time defaming Mark Heller? He insinuated that he (Mark Heller) told Jon to withdraw it. Sheesh, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I've got no idea. I haven't really kept up with the divorce aspect of the story.

Kate is that you ;)

TLC_PR just released another YouTube on Twitter.

That's 5 since last night.

Something's up. I can't put my finger on it, but something is up.

Perhaps they are 'arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic' or 'mowing the lawn while the house burns down'.

Gotta love those old timey sayings!

Very appropriate under the circumstances.

I think Kate might have done more damage to the future of Kate+8 in one Vanity Fair article than Jon did in a whole week of being on The Insider and ET. All over the place, I'm seeing people post "Nobu"

And she ought not to have gone on about The View so much. As one blogger commented "Barbara Walters probably didn't like hearing that her job was "soooo easy" especially coming from somebody who didn't do it so well" She may have burnt some bridges there.

Kate is that you ;)

I don't understand what you mean :confused3
These aren't things most here think? Do you think only Kate thinks these things? Am I the only one who thinks his PR guy is trying to clean up his act?

Now I'm not sure what you mean...:confused3

And I really don't have a problem with his clothes -- he dresses a lot like my brother (the lawyer, who is also a snowboarder) but IMO the clothes look better on my brother (he's a very active guy, and it shows)

i am still so very confused:dance3::dance3::dance3:

initialy jon and kate say that one of the motivating factors of the show was to faciliate their desire to have the real "home" type video documentation of the six little ones they desired but could'nt personaly do because of the demands of raising them, coupled with educating the public on the demands of "real people" struggling to balance the demands of home, work and raising kids-now jon sez the show was scripted and not real, tlc is sueing jon for trying to pursue work (work other than being on the show), and kate says the show has to go on for their support:dance3::dance3:

first kate sez the kids are heartbroken that filming is stopped because it means they can't go as planned to new york (so does that mean filming to the kids equates to trips?):dance3::dance3:, then i read that kate sez the kids are acting up and upset that filming is stopped because of the bonds/close relationships to the production staff (so does that mean filming to the kids equates to conditional relationships?):dance3::dance3:,

now i hear that tlc is posting on youtube videos they've filmed of the kids when they've publicly said they will no longer film the family in order to provide a hiatus for their well being (so does the hiatus only extend to the t.v. show or will the gosselin kids continue to have previously unrealeased film from tlc/private videos from kate/non tlc production staff posted on the internet to facilitate maintaining some kind of product branding?):dance3::dance3:

I thought I explained myself pretty good LOL. I think his PR people are making sure we know he spoke with the rabbi (or even suggested it), to make him look better. Sort of like when I thought Kate's PR person tried to present a softer view of her.

I think Jon looks like a slob. Maybe your brother changes his clothes more often. Either than, or when Jon buys his clothes, he buys them all the same, in bulk. I think they look big and sloppy on Jon. I see teens and young 20 something wearing them in our area, but not usually people Jon's age.

Oh yeah, it's Kate.

Wow wow wow! I just read the Vanity Fair article and Wow! When did that come out? How did I miss it? Finally a reporter that actually sees through everything and approaches it in a professional manner, not just weighing in on the rumors, but actually reporting on what she witnessed. TOTALLY damaging to team Kate. Funny thing is, as I read it, I could complete see Kates facial expressions and everything as she was saying "Nobu! Nobu! I want Nobu!" and "shut up!, now that's where I draw the line" and everything else. It is so funny because we have seen her treat people like that a hundred times over at least. and popping gum while on the cell phone! and Mr. Gray SPEAKS! He has a voice.

How funny it was the PR told her to buy gifts for the kids, she wanted to eat out at a hot spot after playing the poor jilted wife all day on national TV.

My favorite part is when Kate doesn't get to go to Nobu because PR says it's a bad idea and she looks at the journalist and says "Its like you're a prisoner!" Ha Ha! :rotfl: The poor thing! what a riot. You know what is really like being a prisoner Kate? Having 8 small kids and being home being a mother to them while holding down a job. Or even being a real SAHM without the nannies, cooks, gardeners, and house cleaners. When your doing that you can't get to Nobu either. Shame isn't it?

I also love how the author describes her silly behavior in the car with the paps and her "whooping laughter"! She is crass like that isn't she?

This author has her nailed! stepping on the boys foot and showing no concern. "moving right along" :lmao:

You can't make this stuff up! It is so funny.

Oh oh oh! this is my othe fav part!!!

"The ones claiming we are exploiting our children,' Kate says'here referring to the tabloids and other media that have criticized her for putting her kids on television'are the ones exploiting our children!'"

Wow. She is really in her own made up fantasy world isn't she?

I am reminded of when the whole Aunt Jodie thing broke and Gosselins with Out Pity started, and Kate put a statement on her "official website" that said "Only what you read on our site is true" Like we were her children and she was scolding us for reading anything but the "official" site. And we should listen to anyone but her. It was also hilarious.

What I would have paid to have been a fly on the wall when Kate read this story the first time. Sad thing is , she is so egotistical she probably enjoyed all her quotes, even the bad ones. Like, "at the moment?" and everthing else.

Kate has TLC on her side, molding her and coaching her how to respond to questions and supposedly making her "see the light" when it comes to how she treats fans. And yet... She still dresses in ridiculous clothes, says asinine things and expects to be treated like a major celebrity.

Who is actually helping Jon? His lawyer? Rabbi Shmuley? I'm guessing they're not giving him too much fashion advice. If wearing his teeny-bopper clothes gets him a free trip to France, why wouldn't he? If young girls are stroking his ego, why wouldn't he be with them? I have no clue about NY or PA, but in IL you can't smoke anywhere inside other than a private residence. If the paps are always outside, they're going to photograph him smoking. And of course they're going to publish the photos with the cigarettes. I can't believe I'm sticking up in any way for this idiot, but quitting smoking is hard. Quitting smoking when you're under as much scrutiny and stress as I'm assuming Jon's under at the moment might be impossible.

Hopefully, the kids will somehow stay out of the limelight, but Jon and Kate aren't going anywhere. The public will lose interest and they will fade, but we'll still see Kate on Season 7 of Flavor of Love, screeching and fighting with other women to win the heart of a washed-up 80s rap star. I'd kind of like to see her on Celebrity Survivor :)

there's been speculation in this thread about how much money must be being spent on lawyers-i thought it was interesting when i saw an interview with raoul felder tonight. he's one of the best divorce/family law attorneys in the country but he's also worked in criminal law. he was talking about divorce in general and was asked which would likely cost a person more in legal fees-to be defended for a murder charge or to deal with a contentious "nasty" divorce (ala celebrity style). he said definatly divorce-and the nastier it is between the spouses the more the lawyers make. he was also asked his opinion (as were some other legal types) about how the divorce battles that garner public attention affect the kids-he said hands down it makes it a million times worse on them because "normaly" at least school aged kids have that as a kind of haven from the stress/tension of the situation-it's a place where nobody probably knows what's going on and they can escape, but when your classmates are seeing your home life splashed across the tabloids and on every talk show it's going to become playground discussion:guilty:

i had to laugh at another part of the show. they had a few women on who were in high profile or at least public divorces, one of whom is dean macdermott's ex wife (she's got a new book out). it sounded so much like she got the same speil from him when he dumped her for tori spelling that jon's spewing about haylee. apparantly when he told her he was leaving her he had only met/known tori spelling for a few weeks but insisted "she's my soul mate and loves me unconditionally"-i love what she claims was her response to him "you've only known her for days what conditions could you two conceivably have encountered in that amount of time?":rotfl2::rotfl2:

Maybe, maybe not. Rabbi Shmuley is the the one who has been most forthcoming about having spoken with Jon in the past -- I did get the impression from watching the video that perhaps the Rabbi had asked Jon to ask a question. I don't know, but I would say the one thing that impressed me (and for many this would be a very small thing) is that Jon did seem appropriately humbled.

As for the clothes, why assume he buys them in bulk because it looks like he's wearing the same ones all the time? Maybe he is wearing the same ones all the time. But if he wasn't, I guess people would have to criticize him for buying too many clothes. I remember the posts I read about him buying that black suit, and the shoes, and the sunglasses -- yet at least it seems like he's gotten some use out of them.

And I did say that style looked better on my brother. He would also never be wrinkled -- he is also ex-army, and wrinkles are forbidden. :scared1:

Ok, I forgot about that. In today's context, I just have to :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh yeah, it's Kate.
Again, why make it personal?

It doesn't make me "Kate" just because I happen to think Jon looks like a slob. It makes me a person with eyes. Are you saying that you think he looks neat & grown up when he dresses? Do I say..are you Jon, when you make all the nasty remarks you do about Kate (and of course her clothing)? Of course not. I keep forgetting that Jon can do no wrong. That some here see nothing wrong with his behavior. That having a 22 year old girlfriend with a sketchy past is real mature and good for the kids. Well, if my opinion about Jon, that I stated above, makes me Kate (and that's the best you have, for name calling :rotfl2:)..then so be it.

Again, Jon can do no wrong. Excuses for everything he does. Do you think Jon does not have a PR person? You see nothing different in Jon's behavior and Kate's? But you admit he's wearing teeny bopper clothes and it's alright, as long as it gets him a trip to France. Having young girls stoking his ego is OK, as long as he treats his fans good, unlike Kate, who brushes them off (of course even when articles mention she stopped with fans, took pictures, etc that is always glossed over, so all of her bad points can be mentioned here..or if it was mentioned, somehow that would be a bad thing LOL).Wow, talk about a double standard LOL! I'd love to know what you would all say about Kate if she ever dared to date someone in their twenty's with the same past. You would prob all shout to have her children taken away from her. But with Jon, hey, it's OK for some of you.
Sorry, it doesn't change my mind. I think we are hearing what he is saying to the rabbi because it makes good press. I would (and have) think the same about Kate.

Kate has TLC on her side, molding her and coaching her how to respond to questions and supposedly making her "see the light" when it comes to how she treats fans. And yet... She still dresses in ridiculous clothes, says asinine things and expects to be treated like a major celebrity.

In Tallulabelle's defense, she wasn't the first one to post that. But ITA, this doesn't have to be personal.

Having said that, just because Jon hasn't done anything completely stupid in a few days, we don't have to start picking on his clothes. We wouldn't do that about other people in the media, so I'm not sure why we're doing it here. And as I posted before, some of us don't see anything wrong with the style of clothes he wears -- some of us don't really care what he wears. And no, I don't pick on Kate for her clothing and accessories either.

Going back to ignoring the comments about Jon's clothing...Aiyaiyaiy :headache:
