In regards to Kate renewing her RN license, if you remember on the organization show recently, and the women was showing her the gift wrap center she created thinking Kate would like it and Kate responded "I don't have time to Oh and Ah" how could she possibly have time to renew her license??

Maybe McDonald's isn't so far out there. ;)

I just can't picture her as a L/D nurse. She just doesn't seem to be very compassionate.

I didn't see it with my own eyes. That's true.

But, I know 2 people who did see it happen. So, take it for what it's worth. LOL.

Did you pay them for that information??? :rotfl:

Just playing with you..;)

If it costs so much to educate your kids, why don't they just make a classroom in their huge house and hire a teacher to teach the little ones. Teachers don't get paid that much at all. Plus, Kate could interview them all herself. And we all know how much she likes to do that ...

Let's see. That's 6 kids, $18k per kid. Total, that's $108k. Pay a teacher $70k and you will save $38k, get specialized attention to your children, and get the best teacher in that area (you better if you are paying that much for a teacher).

You guys have been busy! I was on a field trip today and you gave me LOTS to catch up on! :goodvibes

Vote for your favorite J&K+8 moments

Also, is J&K+8 sydincated?? I read yesterday my other guilty pleasure "Real Housewives" is now syndicated and will be on "regular" tv. I wonder if TLC has done this. I would think it would increase viewers and interest right - not only a cable station but a "regular" station as well.

Of course she couldn't possible have been doing what many of us do..looking at the cost and trying to make a fair decision. I have no idea if they got a scholarship or assistance, but you better beleive I always filled out everything I could so my kids tuition (college and private school) could be lowered. If someone qualifies (for whatever reason), they should.
I have always seen where K & J get things paid for when they were taping, isn't that to be expected? Just like all the other reality families out there doing placements and gathering money while their families work? I can't beleive none of you think Kate worked hard to get what she did for her kids financially. It's terrible that it turned out this way, but I think it would have even if they went on welfare..only sooner. It almost sounds like..well like some people are jealous (general people, not refering to who I quoted). Almost sounds like if you (general you) couldn't get it free, she shouldn't either LOL. I'm jealous of those who pay way less than I do on groceries, by shopping around, and using coupons. I'm too busy (and lazy LOL) to do the same, but I don't begrudge you. You work for the discount, you get it. Good for you!

Yes I agree with you. I just have never felt that Kate was ever grateful for what she has or had given to her.

$18,000 a year for 3 day pre-kindergarten?! I highly doubt that and if that is true, that's completely crazy. Even $18,000 for elementary school is ALOT. My cousin went to a ritzy private high school and it was $15,000 a year for grades 9th-12th, less for 1st thru 8th, which I think was $10,500. Still not cheap by any means, but I can't imagine it's $18,000 per Gosselin.

Actually, I assumed it was $18,000 per year for the older girls. And that number sounds about right to me -- when I was looking for the tuition cost, their school did not have it listed. But many others in the area did, and the Gosselin's school is not the most expensive one.

I had sextuplets and was on bedrest forever--you don't need an epidural. You'll live.

(sorry-:rotfl:)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: OMG -- that was too funny!

The bus the kids rode at the old house did not have the school name on it. It was a small bus that picked them up at their driveway and on the side was the name of a transportation company. It wasn't blurred out because I looked it up a long time ago. It was a bus service that provides a bus fleet and drivers for private (and I guess public too?) schools. I didn't think the kids were at a private day school before. I thought it was a church school. The county that they live in now is Berks right? That means they pay above and beyond the other fees for transportation (per the school web site). Wow.

We have seen them in three houses and three towns, I think. Elizabethtown, Wyommising, and now Wernersville? Is that right? The name of the school in the new pic is confusing to me, but I'm not very familiar with that area. Aren't they now nearly an hour away from school? At least if they are at the same school as last school year. So confusing! Have the twins uniforms changed? Did they go from khaki and white to navy and white or vice versa? I dont' know.

Ok, I did the poll. Is this how they're going to figure out which footage to re-use to make the rest of the shows? IMO, they're not going to be very pleasant shows if that's the case : the worst meltdown, the worst fight between Jon and Kate, the worst "ouchie" :confused3

Regarding the busses---

I thought I had read a posting on some "hate" website where it was clarified that in PA--private school students are entitled to free transportation paid for by the state.

So it is possible, they do not have to cover that expense.

ITA! If I was the sponsor of these shows who did the organization, green episode, kitchen remodeling, crooked houses, etc....I would go take my products back. Grateful, not a chance. Every appearance she has made comments follow how hard she is to work with, demanding, could it be all these people are liars??

I haven't heard all the people she worked with all say that. I have heard a few..but there has to be pressure when it's your job and you have a timeline, and you know things aren't going well for your family. I have heard many anonymous people say it though.

She loved the crooked houses, the kitchen, and many other things. She didn't go all gushy. That is not Kate. These were things that TLC put on the table for her. These are things that made a show. These people are called placements. They did the work and instead of getting paid, got the free advertisements. These things were all part of a show.

She wasn't followed around by the paps until Jon's first college girl pictures. Until then, it was a pretty peaceful show. Some of us liked it, some did not, but back then, it was mostly because of the way she treated Jon or that some people thought they were making money of their kids (you know, like all the kid reality shows).

You know Madge, without being right there, I don't know what happened with the person in the driveway of the church. I'm sure Kate has pulled out of a lot of driveways without telling someone to get out of the way. But which one gets reported on? She is in the public, so she should know she has to be careful (I'm glad there is no camera on me..and then it be reported to this thread everything I do (although I try to be good). I'm glad for those that are divorced, and argued with their husbands, or divided up the worldly assets, or spanked their children in anger, that there was no camera to show just how YOU behaved. I do wonder if Kate saw where she was now, how she would chnge things. Hindsight and an armchair is so easy to say how behavior should be.

As I said earlier, I'm glad I'm not her. Her bad side is always shown, her good side..well, even if she shows that, some try to make it her bad side. As I've said way back a few threads. I can't hate (or intensely dislike) someone I don't know. I can't continuously put them down and assume everything they do is evil or for money and nothing for the love of the kids. I really can't judge (without being judged by Someone higher) someone who's life I haven't lived in. I'll see where it goes once the divorce and division is over. I'll wait and see which parent really does the best for the kids, who provides the financial and emotional support. For now, I'll give them both a break and some time to heal, as well as the kids.

Who in their right mind would be jealous of what those poor little kids have had to endure at such a young age just so their parents could have what they want out of life??

I agree. Who in their right mind would. Be jealous of what this family has been able to provide to their children. We don't agree that this was just so the parents could get what they wanted. I think the parents love them and started out trying to give them what they could.

It explains on their school website that this is law for residents within 10 miles of the private school (or something like that). It says Berks Co. residents (among others) pay a fee for buses. The school is (obviously) not in Berks Co. Not that a bus fee would really matter on top of that six figure tuition!

I wonder if that is the high school tuition or the entire school. I have to admit, I'd rather see their money going for tuition for the kids, than trips to France or fancy cars.

The snarkiness had been gone for awhile, but it seems to be back in full this week. We were doing so well, for so long.

Marge, I have no doubt you know two people who said they heard Kate in the church parking lot. I think you posted this on an earlier thread. I have no doubt it's true. No one said that it was editing, no one doubted it. No remarks were made that it may not have happened. I just wanted you to know that if you said it, I believe it. But I also believe there has to be something nice about Kate and Jon. Something that grabbed us to watch this show. Something that even those who hate her or him, can find nice about them. There has to be times when you have watched either of them with their kids, where you (general) could say..aww, that was a sweet moment. I don't have 8 kids..6 of them the same age. I have no idea if I would go out of my mind (but I'm thinking I would). It would be a lot to think about, organize for, worry about, save for. Surely, for those who intensely dislike them, there must be something you can judge them on, that was good.
Surely no one is all bad.
This thread is once again becoming a thread that makes me very sad. So much negativity. It can't be good for us. I'm thinking I need a time out.

It is going to be a lot of mony no matter how you look at it but, at my DD's old private school it was X amount for child one, little discount for child 2, another discount for kids 3 and 4 and over 4 were free.

I never understood that, actually. It costs something to educate a child--at least charge that cost. We were not affiliated with a church so there was no help from that.

Hi Buckalew, hope you had a great vacation! :)

I'll see where it goes once the divorce and division is over. I'll wait and see which parent really does the best for the kids, who provides the financial and emotional support. For now, I'll give them both a break and some time to heal, as well as the kids.

Yes.

I am praying they both come through this better people and able to rise above everything, find happiness and do what is best for the kids. They both have made good and bad decisions through this but it is evident to me that they love the kids very much.

Some of the things listed there were downright pathetic..:sad2:

But knowing TLC, whatever gets the most votes is what they'll use.. Anything for ratings - and the heck with how awful it makes anyone look..:headache:

I will be sooooooooo glad when these shows bite the dust - and hopefully Kate Plus 8 will bite the dust before it ever even airs..:sad2:

as far as I know, the only person reporting on what happened at the church was me. I don't think it ever surfaced in a tabloid or anything. :rotfl:

she didn't tell the man to get out of the way -- he couldn't get her out of the parking lot fast enough to do that, LOL.

If you hadn't been chasing her trying to get her autograph, she wouldn't have been is such a hurry. How much did you get for that on eBay, by the way?
