So sad. Looks like in November, Kate and the crew have "No More Life"! You know show's over, life's over...
Yay (if it's true).
Yay (if it's true).
hey all! I know I'm venturing into OT territory, but yesterday, we were talking a good bit about the Duggars and the differences between the families and I was just watching a rerun of the Duggars while I was cleaning up the kitchen and it was one I had not seen before when Jim Bob takes the older kids to ElSalvador to spend time with kids in orphanages there. Uh, there is your difference. They are afforded opportunities to travel with the show and they go to El Salvador to show their children how the truly poor live. Jon and Kate - Disney, Hawaii, OuterBanks, Hilton Head...etc.
The Duggars are the real deal.
I think when all is said and done, Jon is really going to hate his discision to leave the show and not allow his children to be filmed. When he no longer is getting a $20,000 or however much it was paycheck and people really don't care who he is, he is going to kick himself. Who can make that kind of money for doing nothing. He is an stupid.
So the Gosselin's had a garage sale and sold everything that was donated to them in the first place and donated some "donated toys" to St. Jude's hospital, nice gesture, however, nothing special for all that they have been given. That was one thing brought up about Kate over and over--just how ungrateful she really is!!!
I also saw the old episode and thought the same thing. I don't care if TLC or some other agency paid for them to go to ElSalvador. That was a mission of compassion and a way to show children how lucky they are to live in America. This would never happen with the Gosselin's. Camping in the backyard with the brand new tents and sleeping bags was as close to this kind of thing for them. J & K are all about themselves and what they can get for free. My daughters friend just went on a medical mission to Guatemala and it cost her $2,000 for expenses--and this was staying at an orphanage. She raised some of the money with fundraising, but this was a big thing for a college student.

Why should the kids have to work so their parents get paid? No kids=no money is not really my problem. I am thrilled if the filming of the kids ends, and yes I pray Kate will not allow them to be used in any venture by Jon as well.
He could remember what she was wearing in court right down to the shoes. My overall impression was that he was very subdued, close to tears most of the time. I think he still loves KateHe could remember what she was wearing in court right down to the shoes.

Are you talking about the one the governor set up? And didn't put any money in..all he did was set it up and invite people to put money in. When I tried to put $1 in it, my note said I needed to get the number from the gosselins. Way back when both Kate and Jon said that was not an account they set up. They have said they have set up accounts for the kids, but just like everything, until I see it, I don't know if it really happened, or if the money is protected.

) to have not realized it. Maybe his supposed epiphany was real and he does feel he owes it to his children to keep them off the show. 40 something episodes in one year is a LOT of filming, wouldn't you agree? So the 2and 6 year old should have asked to do a mission project in El Salvador in order for us to like their parents? I thought for their age, they were taught sharing their wealth pretty good. They didn't have to give away the money for their toys, clothes, etc. no matter how they got them. They said on that show they do that yearly. They didn't have to sit there and sell lemonade. How the heck can you compare the kids on the Duggars with the Gosselins for a mission trip. I wonder, would they have gone on that mission trip with so many of them if they were paying for it? What more did you think the little kids should have done? Maybe gone out and dug ditches? They are little kids. Hopefully, by the time they are teens this will all be a memory and they won't be on TV with the world watching them during their most sensative time.
Maybe the Duggars can donate all of their pay from TLC, to the poor in El Salvador since they aren't doing the show for gain.
Apples and oranges.

He remembered what she wore yesterday?....wow.
Did he mention the death of a friend at all? Because he posted something about that on his Twitter page and that had to contribute to his subdued demeanor.

I agree it was a good show..I just don't agree that because they went, and J & K and their kids didn't, that it shows the difference in the two shows.I remember them mentioning in the show that the parents and older Duggars had gone to ES before for mission work. I don't have a problem if TLC paid for them to go. Hopefully many people saw that show and decided to help these people who are so much less fortunate than we are.

I didn't say that nobody has contributed..I said the governor opened it, but if the governor did contribute, he didn't say that. He said he opened it for them and that it was opened so other's could if they wanted to. Please don't make me go looking for that site..it was a long time ago. I believe both Jon and Kate said it was not the kids college account..so if people were able to put money in..that's good. At one time I had the site that said it, but that was a long time ago. I tried to contribute as I said, and was told it was private and I would have to get the account number from the Gosselins.Doris, do you really think that nobody has contributed to that college account? The Gosselin 6 are PA's pride and joy. I'd be VERY surprised if that account didn't have $ in it. I'd be even more surprised if the governor didn't put a little in himself after making that big press conference about their birth.
Maybe his supposed epiphany was real and he does feel he owes it to his children to keep them off the show. 40 something episodes in one year is a LOT of filming, wouldn't you agree?
Right now, I'm trying to figure out if my DH could remember what I was wearing this morning![]()

It doesn't matter how they got there. You can't compare it to what J & K might have done..their children are young.Do you think the Duggar's children asked to go to El Salvador? I doubt it. Their parents saw it as an opportunity to show their children how to help those less fortunate, much less fortunate.
I remember that episode with the garage sale for Pediatric Cancer. Kate looked extremely bored and put out. She toyed with her cell phone while people were buying things and made a huge stink over the sign being spelled incorrectly. That's a giving attitude isn't it.
And the St. Jude episode where they had the kids pick out toys to give to the poor cancer children, who do you think paid for those? I highly doubt J&K did since the whole thing was televised. And what did Kate give to those sick little children? Copies of her book Multiple Blessings. That was insane IMO, a lot of those kids were young, too young to be able to read that but apparently that's how Kate gives back.
I'm sorry but comparing people like the Duggars to the Gosselins isn't the same. The Duggars seem to actually care about others outside of their family. Did you see the episodes where they helped to build a large (huge) addition onto a poorer families home? That's generosity and compassion. Not picking out toys that TLC most likely paid for and giving away copies of your own book to sick children.
I am going to agree with you redrose, I believe Jon still loves Kate! I mean after all they went through as a young couple, then to first have the twins, then the 'tups...come on...I just really wish (and I know it does not seem possible) that all this would just END...K&J come together for the kiddos and themselves and move on with their lives as one big happy family.
As far as Jon's statements of not being afraid to work...he has NOT worked in a while, 8-6pm, he has been all over the country and France, enjoying life to the fullest...how can he say he is not afraid to work and then try to fit time in with the kiddos when he is living in NYC...? What company will hire him anyway with all the "baggage" Jon will bring with him...? Will he wear his $950.00 shoes to his IT job? I think he is soooooo regretting what he did with pulling the plug on the show...the gravy train has dried up...![]()
