In an exclusive interview Kate Gosselin's lawyer
, Mark Momjian tells RadarOnline.com that they believe Jon Gosselin is earning money from sources other than his hit TLC program, Jon & Kate Plus 8.
And Kate intends to go after a share of it, after Jon allegedly raided the couple's joint bank account
of $230,000, and left Kate with no money to support her children and pay the bills.


Kate's lawyer filed a request for spousal support Monday, on the same day the injunctive relief petition was filed. The figure Kate is seeking is to be determined.
As Momjian explains, "In the state of Pennsylvania, you don't make a request like that [for a specific amount of money]. It's a pro forma application
, basically providing standard intake data, there's no accompanying financial information when it's filed.
"In other words, you don't make a demand for an amount, you just fill out astandardized form that's filled out by all support litigants."


When asked if they believe Jon has income coming in from other places than his TLC show, Momijan replied, "We suspect that he is. But that information will have to be obtained in the regular course of the litigation.
"We can't specifically verify whether he is getting paid but we think he is. The only person that can answer that is Jon Gosselin. We suspect he is though.


"He was on TV [Inside Edition] saying he's always making money and that he has money. For that, we take him at his word!"

While you were on vacation Z on TV had a good article saying J & K plus 8 is dead and Kate plus 8 is on life support (sorry I don't have the link).

I did catch up on Z on TV .. that was really the only reading I did on what's happened since I was on vacation. I like his blog. I think he many be one of the only writers out there that watches the show and makes an attempt to check facts.

I can't wait until we get through Tuesday so Kate's lawyer can stop talking about this for a while. In fact, I think I dislike him more than Jon or Kate on a bad day -- he just comes across as sooo arrogant. Too bad one of her other lawyers wasn't doing the PR and interviews.

that might be what they're referring to, but that article sure doesn't say that. it just says he has money coming in, other than JK8. So does Kate. I don't see what the big deal is or why she's entitled to what he's made when she's making money of her own, as well. The show hasn't been their only source of income in a while.

I agree. Jon decided to pull the plug on their main source of income without any warning to Kate so it is fair that he pays temporary spousal support. Don't forget that if the shows ends, not only does the income end but all the expenses TLC paid for are Jon and Kate's responsibility now. That's a double whammy.

But we are all smart girls & know what it takes to run a home. We know it is not just watching children. We know the nanny is not running the home.

Yes we are smart girls, that is why we know that Kate isn't running the home. she has help every way she turns. Sure she pays the bills and she shops some and she cook(is that is what you want to call it) some. But please don't believe that she is doing it all herself. And i believe that TLc called her "supermom" at some point in an article. To me that is a slap in the face to all parents who do it by themselves. Especially single parents or military wives, who don't have any help and move around so much that they don't have time to develop a good social support system. I am sorry but I know several people with 8 kids and while they may not be all the exact same age, they are stair steps. And they didn't have nannies and their children don't behave the way these horrible kids do. Oh and by the way, I do remember I do have an old friend who had quintuplits and other than her parents while they were babies, she had no help. And she is totally together and never once have I seen her yell at the kids. I am sorry but Kate is no good, she isn't a good mother and neither is Jon, neither one of these loosers deserve these kids. And you can tell they aren't doing a good job in raising them, They are starting to act just like Mady. all spoiled brats. As are the parents.

I'm feeling a bit snarky at the moment so...does anyone think that Kate is only asking for custody and spousal support because she's angry with Jon for stopping the show? If she has custody then he has to pay child support too, correct? Makes me wonder if yet again, the kids are just a bargaining chip. A way to hurt the other parent. I think they're both guilty of doing this. Why can't they step back and see what they're doing to their children and each other? With their divorce being so incredibly nasty, it makes me wonder how awful their marriage must have been. Ok, snark over.

Good point. Why do J&K need a chef, landscaper, stylist, dry cleaning/laundry service, etc. All of those things IMO can go. Kate can cook again (which would make sense since she wanted to do a cookbook for crying out loud), Jon can cut the grass, they do their own laundry and their own hair. I think J&K are confused and have deluded themselves into thinking that they need all those things in order to survive.

And let's not forget all the $ they'll still get from J&K re-runs, book sales and all the other speaking engagements they have done. I highly doubt the well has been tapped dry.

of course she's asking for support because he's stopped the show. why else would she?

and of course the children are a bargaining chip. they always have been... they're the reason Jon and Kate do everything!

they can't see what they're doing to their children because:
1) they each think they're right
2) they each want to "win"
3) if they step back, then people might forget about them and then there's no chance for more media exposure. All exposure is good exposure to the Gosselins!

Hey, remember that article about Jon where he talked about all the things TLC paid for and the fact that they have 14 bank accounts? The reason he gave for having so many was that the FDIC only insures up to $250,000 so they split it all up. Suppose they have $250,000 in 14 accounts, that's 3.5 million. I'm totally speculating here but doesn't it seem possible? Jon did say they have 14 accounts. Who knows.

It only matter if you are being portrayed as someone who does it all, when in fact I believe she does very little. I have been watching alot of old shows and all I see is Kate sitting in her plastic chair and ordering everyone around. I believe she does nothing. except film, I would love to "run thing around here with help. But I run things and "do things. I am sorry but she is not worth a flip as a mother and certainly not "supermom" as TL called her. To me it is very easy to sit and dicatate what needs to be done. That isn't being a mother, that is being a manager. And if you going to be that, then don't act like you do it all. If I hear Kate say one more time "from sratch" I am going to scream. Guess what Kate I cook from scratch, so what, it isn't that hard.

Sorry I know that I am on a rant about her, and while I still may like her a little more than Jon, I just can't stand to see people defend her. IMHO she is a sad sorry excuse for a mother. And she should quit acting like she is the best.

I wouldn't trust Jon with any numbers. He was way off on how many episodes they tape, seems to alays change how much he makes. The amount of accounts they have always change as well. Soon he may say he has 7 kids.

even still .. we don't know who runs things at the Gosselin house .. whether it's Kate, Jon, the nannies, or someone else. Neither Jon nor Kate live there full time, and they also have schedules that send them out of town for days at a time.
