Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread--Part 7

You know what I find funny is that in OK they have a picture of Jon's shoes and cost, but not of all Kate's new shoes and cost. I guess men can't buy expensive shoes but women can?

This is beyond disgusting.....

"It could be WWIII when I get home," Jon told ET on Wednesday as he went shopping for their birthday presents. "She's trying to change custody but I won't allow that. She's basically saying itt would be too stressful to the kids to have both of us here, like we originally planned."

Keep checking ET for the live stream of Jon's arrival home! :sad2:

You know, why can't one of them be an adult and say they will take the girls for a few hours and then the other can have them for a few hours? If it's Jon's custody day, then he should decide the times and if it's Kate's custody day she should decide the times. They annoy me so much!

I agree. And for the love of Pete, why is Jon allowing ET to put live streaming video of his going home today on ET's website? Can they not have a normal birthday?

Is Jon planning on making a scene with Kate or being dramatic for the sake of the camera's? I just don't understand it.

I thought so too, it was refreshing to laugh at something from the Gosselins for a change. The guys acting as the paps did a really good job too.

I thought the Kate skit on Jay Leno was hilarious!!! :rotfl2: At least she can poke fun of herself.

:thumbsup2

I thought that it was horrible but to each their own.

Why? :confused3

To me it was a nice funny change to go from a ranting Jon on almost every channel on tv to seeing this hilarious skit with Kate!!! :rotfl2:

I have no idea what the custody agreement is or whose day it is supposed to be today and I don't care, it's the girls birthday and I'm sorry, Jon is the one creating all this attention about the birthday. I'm sure there would have been attention about it anyway, but by his reading Kate's email to the papparazi, whether Kate is right or wrong, whether or not she is/was trying to steal his custody time or whatever, he should not have read that email to the anyone and everyone and created a situation where ET is now going to be streaming his "homecoming." It is totally disgusting and considering Jon's recent relationship with ET I have to blame him for this. Kate has done many, many, MANY things wrong, but in this instance it's all Jon. I thought he didn't want him kids being filmed anymore??????

The only thing I can think of is that he is getting paid, which makes it worse IMO.

Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree!

It's not the worst idea Jon Gosselin's had. In fact, ending his family's TV show just may be the best idea the reality dad's had since, um, well, let's just say in quite some time.

But what if, gasp, Kate Gosselin was the one who was right on this?

What if, double gasp, continuing the show would be the best thing for the Gosselin children?

Absurd? Nope.

We asked child-development experts to give us a couple of reasons why it'd be good for the kids to keep shooting Jon & Kate Plus 8—Minus Jon, Pending Court Rulings.

And you know what? We didn't stump them.

Patricia A. Farrell, a clinical psychologist, said, for better or worse, the Gosselin kids' TV show is their normal.

"It's part of their routine," Farrell said in an email. "They probably don't even give much notice to the cameras at this point because it's become so normal for them."

Sure enough, twins Cara and Mady, who'll turn 9 on Thursday, have been prime-time stars for half their lives. The sextuplets, now 5, have been on TLC since infancy.

When Kate Gosselin talks about the children "wailing and sobbing" after her estranged husband shut down production last week, Farrell hears the cries loud and clear.

"What would you do if you were a kid and some member of your family were banned from the home?" Farrell asked. "You'd cry, wonder why it happened and then think it was something you didn't do or did do."

Joseph Cilona, also a clinical psychologist, agreed that a sudden cancellation could be detrimental to the children. (Sorry, we didn't ask about the possible harm to TLC executives.) The Manhattan-based professional suggested the best way to end the show would be "with as much advance notice as possible."

"Six months or more would be best," Cilona told us, likewise via email. "The children should be given age-appropriate explanations as to why this will occur and they should be given specific and detailed explanations of how their day-to-day lives will be impacted and exactly what changes will occur."

Now, mind you, saying there are reasons the show shouldn't be turned off like a light isn't the same as saying the show should be lauded. Or even have existed in the first place. As Farrell put it succinctly, "No, kids shouldn't be on reality shows."

But the Gosselin children are.

That's their reality. As surreal as it is.

So she basically told him that he could see the girls for 2 hours on their birthday which is Jon's custody day, then take away his custody for the weekend except for 2 hours? I would be upset too.

I thought Kate had the kids Monday-1/2 Thursday and Jon had 1/2 Thursday through Sunday. I think that was the original agreement. Who knows what it is now. Why they can't work it around their work schedules like any other divorced couple would do?

No, I think it was more like 24 hours -- was that a typo?

This is beyond disgusting.....

Not that it matters at all anymore, but I think birthdays and holidays are supposed to be both their days, not being either Jon's day or Kate's day. When the custody agreement was written I think they decided to both be there for birthdays and holidays...this was all before the explosion of drama.

I know some disagree, but I agree with Kate about it being too stressful for the kids. I don't know what her motive in saying it was, but things have gotten SO bad that I think it really would be too stressful and better for the kids for them not to be together at the birthday. Yes, it's very sad they can't put their differences aside for the birthday, but that ship has sailed, it ain't gonna happen.

I must be confused (imagine that!). I thought the e-mail said he could see them for 2 hours today and 2 hours this weekend.

Yeah, I know that holidays/birthdays are shared days, but obviously that isn't going to work.

I agree. It is going to be too stressful for the kids because their parents are acting like kids. So sad.

A little off topic, but you know how magazines, famous hair stylists, etc have said that her haircut is hideous? She continues to wear it. I like the front, I just wish she would let the back grow some.

Ok, carry on...

The last week or so, every time I see Jon interviewed he always manages to get in that he knows everything that is going on in the PA home, as Mady calls him and tells him everything...tells him that they do NOT want to do the show anymore and that Mommy is saying bad things about you.........:confused3

Do you all think Mady really is calling as much as Jon says filling him in on every little thing going on in the house? :confused3

So if Jon is getting paid for this, is all the money going to him? Or is he going to give some of it to the kids accounts? Hopefully it is to pay back whatever he was not supposed to take from the money market account and not to buy some new ring for Hailey.

It's just disgusting. Demands filming to stop from TLC that gives a paycheck to the family, but gets money to stream this. :headache:

My personal observation--but when I witness someone sharing "a lot" on something like this--it tells me they are embellishing a little bit.

For example--I have a facebook friend who CONSTANTLY is singing her new husband's praises. After witnessing a horrific argument that they had one time, while I no doubt that she loves him--I think she is over the top and embellishes a little bit to make herself (and her husband) feel more confidant.

That's kind of how I'm viewing the statements by Jon and other people who "out of character" seem to constantly remind the world anything having to do with love and emotion. Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I don't believe Mady is calling him 24.7 and ratting him out.

I remember being her age and going to my dad's house. I didn't want to be there. I made sure to provide my mother as much info as possible "in my defense". But there was no way for me to call her 24/7. I believe I did call collect once that summer and remember speaking over the operator to my evil step sister to accept the charges.:lmao:

My visits were finally shortened after that summer.

I don't think any of the children would hate Kate that much--so no, I'm not buying that Mady is his little spy that gives him the full report of all that goes on in the G-compound when he is not around and it is his way of validating his involvement and love for his children with the public.
