Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

The twins birthday is this week. At least it won't be filmed and I hope they go in the back yard.

Didn't Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards have a custody dispute involving the filming of their two daughters for Denise's reality show? If I recall correctly, Charlie didn't want them on the show. How did that work out??? Their divorce seemed pretty nasty.

Jon is just as guilty of bashing, whining and leaving his children on his custody days.

:thumbsup2 I watched ET! and Jon said that when its his custody days, he's at home. That comment was after saying he called home today and asked Mady if he could speak to Kate. Mady said she was in New York. Just like Kate, Jon talked specifically about the kids reactions. He said after they told the kids they were divorcing, the little kids asked what's for lunch, Cara broke down, and Mady said she knew this was going to happen. Why does Kate get the riot act and not Jon?

A part of me wonders whether this had something to do with Jon's announcement last week. I'll bet that TLC was planning for this show to run during sweeps week.

:rotfl2: That was brought up about 30 pages ago. I think somebody posted that Charlie Sheen lost, but that the taping was limited to her custody days.

:sad2:

This is the first time he's really done that. I don't like it from him either.

Denise won and was allowed to put her kids on her show.

Yeah, I can see now why a previous poster said he seemed angry during this interview.

Does anybody think that Kate and TLC thought that Jon's interviews for ET and The Insider that were taped last week (about why he wanted the kids off the show) would have just been trashed and not redone? That they would have instead gone with Kate's version of the money story?

I'm sure Kate and her team of lawyers thought that would be the case. I really wonder if TLC is paying some of Kate's lawyer fees. How else could she be affording so many? Good grief, she really has a team of lawyers at her disposal doesn't she.

Yes, Jon looked pretty pissed in that interview. I didn't know he paid that much $ per month. Kate's lawyers made it seem that only she pays the bills or attends to the kids needs.

I'm still curious as to why Kate waited till now to make a big stink about Jon's withdrawals. It happened over a period of more than a month, correct? So she must have been privy to it, especially with online banking for crying out loud. This divorce is so ugly and filled with spite. How nice that all 8 of the Gosselin kids will have so many lovely news articles and tabloid covers to read when they're older. :scared1:

Yup -- me too. :confused3 She said on the Today Show that the withdrawals were between August 10th and September 29th. She also said that she found out about it when she went to pay her monthly bills on Friday. So, even if she hadn't been checking her account online, she'd have received a bank statement showing the withdrawals during August.

When Jon gave the interview to Prime Time Live, he did mention that he had to work to pay for some of those things, including his half of the payments on 2 mortgages. He didn't say how much, but $7500.00 sounds about right given the mortgage details somebody posted earlier for the new house (they amortized it over 10 years :rolleyes1 )

And yes, Kate apparently has 3 law firms working on her case now, plus she's still paying all that other staff -- the PR firm must have had to bring in temps to deal with all of this.

Yes, but that is completely different than this mess! Her show is not focused on the kids and I'm pretty sure she has money without doing the show. Charlie never played the part of the father in the show. ;) And her kids have not been filmed nearly full time since they were 3. Their show is not their life.

Jon should not be talking about the kids, but Kate already said all those things right after they happened in June. It's old news now!

Here's the actual ET! video link with Mary Hart's interview with Jon:

He seemed very defensive & trying to do damage control. I did not see the part about the 2.5 million just the teaser. What is that about? Is that what the total of all the money they would have made been. I thought he was the one who invested all the money for the family.

Did someone figure out they must have put 500,000 down on the house?

Oops! Sorry about bringing up an old topic. You caught me. I've only read from page 205 on up ... :rolleyes1

I missed The Insider tonight but saw a small clip on YouTube. I normally don't like Nancy Grace but :thumbsup2, she seemed to ask some tough questions. It cracked me up when she asked Jon why is it always about him and he didn't know what to say. It would be interesting if she ever got to interview Kate.

IMO, that will never happen -- Kate's people know she'd be in over her head.

Jon does not belong on TV -- maybe he could narrate, but he'll never be a talk show host.

Okay. Now we know for sure that Kate has the better team of "handlers". No way in heck would I allow anyone I was representing to be interviewed by Nancy Grace!!!

I love Nancy, but she is tough - she can mop up the floor with seasoned professionals - no way that Jon or Kate could really hold their own with Nancy.

So...does this mean Jon's still with Hailey, the supposed love of his life? How is he supposed to "fix the relationship" with Kate if he's with another woman? He's apologizing for his mistakes - is Hailey one of them? Sorry, longtime lurker turned confused poster here.

And just when I thought Jon and Kate couldn't be more destructive and dysfunctional...

go Nancy!

Yep, Nancy can be way annoying, but she was not letting up on Jon. I loved it.

So Jon is going to be on The Insider again tomorrow night, he was on Friday too and lunching at The Ivy on Saturday, so that means at least 5 days in California, when is his custody time? Yes, I know Kate was in New York, but still, isn't their custoday, she is with them 4 days and he's there the other 3?

Oops, forgot, Jon was on Larry King Thursday night, so that is at least 6 days in California.

I liked tonight's episode. I always found episodes where they showed Kate shopping for the family, packing, etc. interesting. Maybe TLC can do episodes like that so the kids wouldn't have to film that much or at all.

Is it just me or did Kate's best friend look like the lady who babysat the kids on Sunday?

I LOVED how Nancy Grace Interviewed him. Asked him all the right questions that other interviewers are afraid to ask because they are scared he will not come on their show. I am sure Jon wished she was not on the panel.:lmao:
