How do they get these documents! that is one weird letter. I don't have a lot a lawyer experience, but wouldn't they just stick to facts and not point out stuff Jon said on LKL about wanting to apologize to Kate?

Something doesn't add up.

And yes, if Jon has done something illegal, there is no defense. but if he stops the filming of his kids, he is a better parent in that regard.

I agree, that letter is very professionally worded to me. If this atttorney is so top notch then I would think that he would write a more professional letter. I for one don't believe that it is real.

Jinx! You owe me a coke!:lmao:

 You're right! I'll buy you one when we're at Disney!:goodvibes

I hear you!! :thumbsup2

I am a stay at home mom too and I am more tired at the end of the day than when I worked 8-5 Monday thru Friday! Very hard work to stay at home with Kids but to me it is 100% worth it.

:thumbsup2 No kidding. I used to work too before I had my kids and let me tell ya, I'm exhausted by night-time. I completely and whole-heartedly agree though, it is worth it. I love being home with them!:goodvibes

One of the CC people is Julie May, her PR person. Why would she need to be on a CC for this type of letter?

As long as it's not a Beverly, I agree! ;)

:rotfl: Would you believe my oldest daughter liked it?? It's SO bitter and nasty. Reminds me of what my grandfather used to drink, Moxie.

Back on topic, how mad do you think Doris and Madge will be when they see how many pages we up to!

Unlike Jon Kate has worked. She has written books, made appearances for fees etc. He hasn't had a job in a year or two maybe he should get a job to pay his own legal bills! God knows he is going to need one!:lmao: I hope they put him jail for contempt of court. I don't care why he took the money he broke the law; if neither them is allowed to take it without the others permission THEN YOU DON'T TAKE it. I don't see it as a difficult decision. IMHO he make mine and most husbands look like saints!;)

Wow, although I do think what Jon did was wrong (if he did in fact do it). What you just said is a complete slap in the face for those of us who stay home with our kids. And last time I checked, it was Kate's idea for Jon to stay home with them so she could travel. And I do believe that Beth wrote most of the book. I don't think she could write if her life depended on it, She doesn't even use correct words. So I guess in your little world the money my hubby makes isn't mine either. Well I got news for you , it is. And he will admit that most stay at home mom's or dad's work harder than anybody. RANT OVER.

I hope we are not being played for ratings! :scared1: I would hope that a network would not stoop that low.

I wouldn't put it past TLC to be releasing info to Radar and TMZ to get interest back in the show since the ratings are not outrageous unless there is fighting going on :sad2:. Those poor children, they need to use some of their money for some intensive therapy.

Just want to add that I find a lot of other things about this story highly suspect. I can't imagine a lawyer writing a letter saying that Jon stole "hundreds of thousands of dollars" -- nope they would have it down to the penny.

I find it odd too that there isn't a dollar amount.

Drea, she needs to be informed so she can prep Kate for all the interviews ;).

ETA: I bet we are on thread # 7 by the middle of next week.

OH yuck! We are going to give it to my DD this trip, she is like Mikey, she'll eat anything so it wouldn't surprise me if she liked it too.

They are going to need an entire day to catch up!

How silly of me, I should have known she needs it to prep Kate.

I found this on line for money market accounts

Thanks for the clarification on that. I still don't think this is an account from which you'd pay your grocery bills, etc. as the tabloids are trying to say.

Here's another article on the same topic from Access Hollywood. Supposedly the papers are being filed on Monday asking him to put the money back.:

WERNERSVILLE, Penn. --
Jon Gosselin has reportedly emptied his joint bank account with estranged wife Kate, according to Radar Online.

In a report also confirmed by People, the site stated that Jon allegedly removed “hundreds of thousands of dollars” from the former couple’s bank account – leaving a mere $1,000.

Kate has reportedly responded with legal action against Jon, having a lawyer send a letter to him demanding the return of the funds, with papers to be filed in a Pennsylvania court on Monday.

The news comes just days after Jon appeared on “Larry King Live,” where he talked about wanting to repair his relationship with Kate.

“I want Kate and I to mediate. I want us to become friends,” he said at the time – after he attempted to bring production on the former couple’s TLC show, “Jon and Kate Plus Eight,” to a halt following the announcement of its name-change to “Kate Plus Eight.”

Despite his public entreaties to Kate, Jon wasn’t rushing back to the family home in Wernersville, Penn., this weekend.

After his “Larry King Live” appearance, he was photographed at a Los Angeles Dodgers game on Friday.

On Saturday, he was spotted signing autographs at West Hollywood’s Millions of Milkshakes, where the reality dad debuted his own signature drink.

A rep for Jon was not immediately available when contacted by Access Hollywood.

OMG, if he actually did this. WOW! I can't imagine his attorney would have given him the okay. Would he have done this behind everyone's backs?? Behind his lawyer's back, behind Kate's back?

If he truly did drain their bank account to the tune of $200,000+ -- and violated the rules as set down by the arbiter -- I cannot think that will reflect well on him in the divorce proceedings.

I think Jon took a stupid pill. His shady attorney has to be behind this one.

A small part of me thinks it's all so unbelievable, that maybe we are being played by TLC.

I have wondered that myself, that the whole thing right from the separation is a huge ratings ploy. If Jon and Kate end up getting back together :scared1: this is exactly what it was....but like you it is a small part of me.
It is too crazy for any one to think up.

How about him being home with the kids. That is work. I stay home with my 3 and don't get paid a cent. Yet I work pretty darn hard.

Yes, it is very hard work! :thumbsup2

Back on topic, how mad do you think Doris and Madge will be when they see how many pages we up to!

I bet they have sneaked some peeks here and there. ;)

Thanks for the clarification on that. I still don't think this is an account from which you'd pay your grocery bills, etc. as the tabloids are trying to say.

I wouldn't even think about paying our monthly bills out of a money market account. The entire thing just seems so strange!

I wonder how this kind of game-playing will impact either of them regarding custody? I've never been through this myself - is it the same judge that would decide custody arrangements as well as financial? I would assume most things would be worked out by lawyers ahead of time before going before a judge but these two don't seem anywhere close to being able to communicate. (this gets slimier and slimier...)

According to what was said the other night on LKL, there is a court appointed arbitrator who is supposed to deal with all of the financial issues, but the judge will be dealing with all of the custody issues (and would then disburse the assets, order child support and/or alimony payments based on the arbitrator's report, depending on the custody arrangements)

I'm going to vote for numbers 1 and 2 and throw in my own take -- that man is burning through money like there is no tomorrow and he probably is to the point where he needs money. Four brand-new cars in the last year, (Mercedes, BMW, etc.), a very pricey apartment in Manhattan. There have been reports of him dropping a thousand-plus dollars at Gucci in one shopping trip.

I don't think it was 4 cars that Jon bought -- he leased a BMW, and then leased a Mercedes because it would be better for traveling in the winter and he wasn't happy with the BMW -- he only has the one car. And he did buy a pair of expensive shoes, and a black suit that we know of (and I have seen that suit all summer, including on LKL the other night)

The apartment is expensive, but IMO all the traveling these 2 are doing has got to be expensive if it's not being paid for as part of some business.

Funny how nobody questions how expensive Kate's clothes are? She does have a stylist so I'm not thinking they're cheap.

I know! I know that at least 3 pairs of her shoes are $300+ dollars. She bought a new car as well, and we hardly ever see her wear the same outfit twice. Just sayin'

Well, maybe if they are shopping once a month and having it all delivered...does Kate even go to the grocery store now? I could see if maybe being used for the mortgage or tuition bills.

And I don't are what either of them spend on clothes...that is a blip on the radar screen compared to everything else going on.

No I don' because I don't make the kind of money these people do. Not sure why you felt the need to get all snarky there.

This reportedly is an account that is used to pay bills..so why wouldn't there be money in there?

Sorry, I wasn't being snarky, but I was just giving my opinion that I don't believe Jon took or stole the money. You asked, well who took it?? I don't think anyone took it, it will all be a misunderstanding!

First of all, I can and do write checks out of my money market.
Second, does it really matter what the account was used for? They were both told by court order not to touch it without the other's permission. Maybe it was earmarked to pay the kid's tuition once a month. It doesn't matter.
Lastly, I can not fathom how anyone can be defending this behavior.

I have a question. Let me preface it by saying I know NOTHING about lawyers! Can an attorney email a letter to another officially? I thought things like that had to be mailed? :confused3

More than likely, he sent the letter via email to attorney's on is own staff. The letter was probably sent by messenger to Jon's attorney.

EDIT: I just noticed that the letter was sent via fax to Mr. Heller. My guess is that this a demand letter to put Mr. Heller and Jon on notice, not an actual legal filing.

I don't think anyone is defending his behavior. It's just so weird that it is hard to believe at this point.
