Not to jump on the "to crate or not to crate" bandwagon... but...

I, too, think crate training is one of the best things to do for a dog. No, I dont think anyone feels that this is an appropriate place for a dog to stay for an extended period of time, or because you don't want to deal with them.

However, crate training is a good way of teaching a dog discipline and comfort. At a YOUNG age...potty training not one, but two dogs (brother and sister-- I know, I have two from the same litter)... is DIFFICULT with a capitol D. Once one makes a mistake and messes in the house-- the other smells and follows right behind. The crate is a great way to put them up and let them find their "safe environment". Mine would pee before going in, and directly after coming out. They learned that behavior and now they both love it. They sleep in their crate. Why? Well.. they dont need to be outside in the thunderstorms and such. I dont put them in there because I dont want to deal, I do it because thats their home. I have a bed I sleep in, I shut the door at night. I put them in their bed, I shut their door at night. At night after they are done running the backyard all day, and playing with their toys indoor all night. They go to their bed on their own and lay their heads down. They tell me when they are ready. Some nights I just have to say "are you ready for night night?" and they run straight to their crate. Its not torture-- they are disciplined to do it... and they like it there. Thats their safe place.

As far as J&K.... Id rather see a dog in a crate than strung from a chain on a tree ANY DAY. Now to me... THAT is cruel!

But didn't I say i didnt want to jump on this bandwagon? LOL. I guess I take in so many strays and find them homes... and I have spent an extensive amount of money on my dogs here recently (they are dachshunds, so no matter how much you train them they will have back problems, etc)...I certainly feel that crate training isn't the worst thing in the world... but actually pretty beneficial.

I do agree crating is a good option for some folks when training, and am 100% against chaining or tethering a dog, that sicken me. I know how many dogs need homes , I won't go where I want to saying I wish they had gone to a shelter, I just want the best for the dogs and kids. I think a little training goes a long way and those kids need some unconditional love right now and those dogs might be the best palce to find it.

I hope they keep the dogs. I assume they will for the protection in any case. Even thought Kate acts like she isn't fond of them, they occasionally catch her petting them or talking to them.

Once again TLC is hitting a new low. I think the episode tonight is wrong. These people are getting divorced and so what do they think to do, Oh lets show when they use to be happy and all the good times they had before everything got screwed up. TLC should be giving the show space and not showing any of it. I personnaly think it is wrong.

I wonder if Jon and Kate okayed tonight's episode or if TLC told them they were showing it and that was that.

I saw a promo that said, "the first 10 years". Isn't it the ONLY 10 years? ;) Or at least THE 10 years of Jon and Kate? It's funny and sad (I think mostly sad).

I doubt that J&K have much, if any, editorial control over the material that airs.

I thought that they said that they had control over what was shown. Who knows. For them it maybe nice one day and watch their lives but for me, this soon, it is very sad and kind of sick. If I was getting divorced I don't think I would want the whole world watching our downfall. Is it going to show how they have destroyed their lives over the years. First year is hard but they still love each other and then next year is a little harder and so on and so on.

I am not sure if this hass been posted before.
These guys have posted several parodies of J&K on youtube. I find them to be rather funny, whether you are a fan or not supporter on either side.
These guys should be on SNL.
Here is the link to one, they have several different ones up on youtube

If for some reason this is against rules to post let me know or remove, nothing obscene of offensive.

Just added another one above

she sure does!

is that a new/different bodyguard, I wonder? (I don't care one way or the other whether she has the bodyguard... since I know that will come up, but it's a new guy with them)

Yes it a new bodyguard, With a new bodyguard in tow, Kate Gosselin goes shopping with two of her 5-year-old sextuplets — Leah and Hannah —

He is smiling, a newbie for sure;)
Again the heels on Kate, I know nobody wants to hear about her fashion choices. I'll just say this, she is the least casually dressed mom I've seen all summer.

OOPS I need to take the casual dress comment back, I forgot about the blue bikini in the driveway, my bad. That was uber casual.

Kids are so cute. Bodyguard not bad either.;) Kate is attractive (as usual) but her outfit is silly. She is screaming for attention imo. Why are they always at the UPS store? What are they picking up? Doesn't "brown" come to their house? :confused3
