It was Beth, who wrote Kate's book, that volunteered to go to help out at Disney and brought her daughters. I just saw the episode not long ago, I'm sure it was Beth, not Carla at Disney.

I still wonder what happened with Beth, she actually used to pop up on some message boards very early on to defend Kate.

i think she retreated to her private life which seems to be pretty full.

according the 'multiple blessings' publisher's bio on her she had returned to college to get her degree and there's a realy nice article/interview she gave in her (and the gosselin's former) local newspaper from 12/08 that talks about her having her 4 kids and a successful sideline as an artist.

maybe there was a falling out over jon's name being added after the fact as an author of 'multiple blessings'. it's not spoken to in the december article but she does say in it that when she and kate were working on it they would lock themselves away for up to 72 hours and their husbands would watch the kids. she also said as to the division of work on the book that she (not we, not kate and john and i) wrote it.

she seems like a kind, classy lady.

NEW YORK — NBC says celebrity mom Kate Gosselin will be on the "Today" show Monday for her first TV interview since she and her husband, Jon, announced their separation in June.

The Gosselins star with their eight children - twins and sextuplets - on TLC network's hit reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

They have also been a tabloid sensation since their marriage began to publicly unravel earlier this year.

NBC says Gosselin will discuss her family's life in the spotlight both on and off their show during the live interview.

Jon bought a new pair of sunglasses! He was spotted yesterday afternoon picking up a $120 pair of Carrera Cool shades at the Solstice Sunglass Boutique on Spring Street in New York City's Soho neighborhood.

Saving us the trouble, Kate Major had already asked herself what she was thinking when she hooked up with Jon Gosselin.

"It's been a complete whirlwind these past two weeks now," the former Star reporter, who met the married-but-separated man at his Pennsylvania home while on assignment, told E! News in an exclusive interview. "I wake up some days and I think, 'What was I thinking?'"

Remembering how she felt when Star put her on Gosselin duty, she said: "I had even joked with people at the office and said, 'Oh God, what am I, the next Kate?'"

Kate 2.0, to be exact. And sure enough, Gosselin invited her out to a group dinner a few hours after they met.

"He's a great, great guy," Major told E! "I wish I could think of something wrong with the guy but there really isn't." Although, she added, "It's kinda hard to be romantic when you're being followed constantly."

And yet it still hasn't been that easy to get a handle on what Gosselin is really up to with his coterie of lady friends.

Since the father of eight had "impressed" her so much with his estimable character (and because she felt "instant chemistry" between them), Major was all for that initial dinner—and she figured it was more convenient to ride along with him than follow in her own car.

Though he mostly talked about his kids during that first meeting (and every meeting after that), Major said, "He did talk about Hailey in the beginning."

Reasonable, considering he was then dating 22-year-old Hailey Glassman, the daughter of the plastic surgeon who performed Kate Gosselin's impressively effective tummy tuck.

Then Gosselin must have figured out that another woman isn't the most romantic conversation topic, because less than two weeks after taking Glassman to St. Tropez, he made a Major upgrade.

An admittedly "awkward" sit-down interview with both Glassman and Gosselin already behind her, Major invited the reality-TV star, in New York to shoot footage for Jon & Kate Plus 8, to dinner with her and some friends.

While Major admits that the dinner in question marked the turning point in their relationship from friends to more, she refused to kiss and tell.

"You know, I don't want to go into any details," she said, laughing.

But overall, Major said, "I was falling for Jon at that point. It wasn't planned—it was crazy."

And she's not even referring to the fact that the next stop for her and Jon as an item was Michael Lohan's house in the Hamptons!

Carla wasn't paid help, not in my understanding anyway - my impression was that she and Kate were friends and Carla volunteered - whether she was compensated for her time I don't know.
The 'laundry woman' you're thinking of is not Carla, but an older woman from the neighbourhood who volunteered to help. I'm sure of this because we only get the older episodes over here and that one was on a couple of weeks ago. She was definately not Carla, can't remember her name though, but looked to be in her 60's.

I have heard that Carla is paid and I've heard that she isn't ... no idea what the actual truth is. Maybe the confusion lies in that Carla's daughter appears to actually work as a helper/babysitter for the family and she's paid?

yes they do,Jon's mother and Kate's parents are still alive ... and we don't know whether they are or are not involved with their children or grandchildren.

Yes they have parents. Jon's dad passed away but was involved - I think there are pictures of him in the Multiple Blessings book. Jon's mom is still around and lives about an hour away or so. I believe she's not on the show because she didn't want to be part of the filming.

As for Kate, there are many reasons floating around. The one that's sticking in my mind is that the parents aren't close with any of the grand kids. Kate's dad is the pastor of a church they belonged to when they were pregnant with the tups and some say Kate cut them off when the church donated used items instead of buying new. The twins, according to the MB book, stayed with her parents while Kate was in the hospital I believe.

In Touch needs to fire their airbrush person. Jon looks very weird and plastic on the cover and in the big picture of him sitting on the black couch. He looks like a wax figure or something. They overdid it.

Did anyone else catch it in Jon's article about when they went to Utah in Jan and Kate came home and left him there. And he hung out with "girls and then guys".
