Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread-Part 4

I think they will announce they will divorce and the new show will be called "Kate (+8) ....Aren't I GREAT????"[/I]

I think they all start out saying that. Then they get popular, more stuff gets given, and well, if they really don't want to end up like the Gosselins, they better make sure they don't even scratch and itch wrong, or the Paparazzi will start with them, and see if they can break them apart.

I think if the the new family films 5 days a month and both keep their jobs and friends/family the end result will be much different. (I have not and will not watch it however) It not like the paps just hand picked the Gosselin family to single handedly destroy just for the fun of it! There was plenty to work with there from the beginning even before the 6 were born. It's more like giving them enough rope and they hung themselves! It was inevitable for them. a little bit of humble and graciousness could have gone a long way.

The only thing I do feel bad about, is that some people have definately taken some of this personally (I see you peeking in here), and we now have an underground PM board going, because they have left the thread.

seriously? an underground thing?

Sorry, but that struck me funny.. Kind of sounds like the "grassy knoll" conspiracy..:rotfl::rotfl:

"Someone" is on the grassy knoll conspiring. Just don't tell anyone, and don't spread the word. It's a secret, K?:rotfl::rotfl:

And...C.Ann, any chance for extra credit for those who even know what the grassy knoll conspiracy is?

Now, back to the topic. Sigh.

We, such as fans, since this started out more as a fan thread. We such as myself and my daughter, we for whoever wants to own it. Not personal, since I don't really care who liked it who didn't and who will LOL.

Well, I guess you and I are the only ones who liked the show. Yes, I liked the show, those kids are so darn cute! I joined the original thread because I was a fan of the show. Just like I am a fan of Little People, Duggers, Little Couple, Table for 12, The Bachelorette and Deadliest Catch. I also posted on those threads, just like this one. Let me tell you Monday and Tuesday nights are very busy for me! :happytv: :rotfl:

:lmao: See, we really do have laughs on this thread. Thanks, I need that. :lmao:

We'll see. Just like the lottery winners always say around here. I'll keep my job and nothing will change. We'll see once they are offered a much larger sum of money to tape more often, or a trip to go on (it will prob be Disney). They all start out that way.

I disagree that the paps did not have a very large part of what has happened to Kate and Jon, as well as many other people. I always remember Lady Di..and many others, where the Pap has had a large part of destroying. They make even the most innocent thing seem dirty. Just the fact that they post pictures of either Jon or Kate with another person, and cut off the third person shows just what they want you to think. I go back a long way, and this has always been the case. Some people are able to sue them, but they never get back what the paps have taken. They are out for what sells magazines, and sadly, with human nature, if you can make the other person look bad, that will sell.

Back to being serious - for just one moment.. The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to believe that this sudden, dramatic, one-hour special with a "big announcement" may turn out to be nothing more than a last ditch attempt for TLC to pull back the viewers and make a bundle of money off of it before they pull the plug.. Their viewers have been dropping off like dead flies since the Season 5 opener and I'm sure they're not happy about that..

Will the entire hour be devoted to this "big announcement"? Hmm.. I don't think so.. I can see them doing 99% of the show as "flashbacks" - to happier times - and then just before the show ends, they will make "some" kind of announcement..

A divorce?

The end of the show?

A show with only Kate and the kids?

Televised marital counseling?

Only time will tell, but based on other "cliff hanger" type "reality" shows, I doubt the entire hour will be devoted to Jon & Kate making this "big announcement"..

Just thinking out loud..

I just watched the YouTube clip of the commercial preview for Monday's show. Does anyone think they might actually be stopping the show? Is it even a remote possibility?

I think it could be 3 things:

1) Jon's moving out

2) The kids are getting their playhouses and the preview is a big set up (they're getting some "peace")

3) They're quitting the show. Highly unlikely, but it's what I'm hoping for.

C.Ann, we posted at the same time. Great minds think alike and all that jazz.

There are a lot of people that are fans, and still are, although they wish things had gone differently for this family. Some took some of the comments very personal, a couple just thought they no longer wanted to be a part of some of the things being said, and decided to take it private. I guess I have tougher skin :rotfl:

Gosh, this story seems to get worse and worse.:sad2: I have said this many times, but this is all so sad. How can you sell the happiness of your family like that? I blame Jon and Kate both. There are plenty of real celebrities out there who aren't in tabloids all of the time. It's Jon and Kates actions that have brought this on.

I hope they are announcing the end of the show, but we know that won't be the case. I stopped watching the show, so I'll have to get the breakdown of events from this thread next week.

I am hoping that the announcement is that they are quitting the show and focusing on their relationship and their family. I know I am a dreamer.....

Their viewers have been dropping off like dead flies since the Season 5 opener and I'm sure they're not happy about that...
Actually, when we looked at the amount of viewers, and discussed it earlier in one of the threads, just like most shows like this, they have been steadly going down for much longer than that. They only came back up for a few shows, and now they are getting back to 'normal'. So, it's not like it suddenly has dropped off, because of all the hoopla. What will they show us soon..all the kids doing homework? In any case, I think this would be the last season, just because of lack of interest (unless Jon has more girlfriends in the background and Kate announces her engagement to Steve..that would bring back lots of viewers, but not for the kids, but to watch the tain wreck).

That said, I wouldn't be surprised no matter what way they go. If K & J want out, I'm hoping that TLC lets them out. If they have decided to part and get help, or not, and that's the big announcement, I hope they make a decision that they feel is best for their family for the show. That's all any of us have done with our children, what we think is best.

Or just watch the news - 5 minutes after the show goes off the air..:rotfl:

I think they will announce a separation (that may include Jon moving out), like we didn't know they were already separated and then that they are going to counseling to try to work things out. I hope they don't plan to televise the sessions but they do want to increase ratings. I bet (hope) less of the kids will be seen.

-----------------------------

No matter how they spin it, last weeks episode had 31% less viewers than the week before.. That's a significant drop - especially since they were hoping that all of this "drama" would pull in more viewers.. Seems to have backfired in their faces - that's the "good" news..:goodvibes

I don't know what you mean by 'how they spin it'. They had a lot more viewers the week of the big announcement and some carried over. Those weren't 'real' amounts and the sponsors aren't stupid. You can't look at just one week to see how they did. I know of many people who didn't even know who they were, that tuned in just for the first show because of the advertising. That isn't representative of what the show has been doing. So, if someone (so you don't mix the word up with you LOL) wants to think in one week it has dropped significantly, that's fine, but that doesn't plan in at all as to what the show is really drawing in on a regular basis. We've had this discussion here..they have been inching down except for the vow renewel, the last show and the first show and possibly a few other shows that I didn't look at the ratings for. People had already lost interest, many saying because the show had gotten boring. IMO, and what I have read on several boards, people are not suddenly leaving in droves because they think that it's bad for the kids. They have been leaving right along. The show has changed, and not because of the hoopla, but because the kids are getting older. You haven't watched in a long time (I assume since you haven't liked it from the begining) so you wouldn't know that it has changed, except what you read second hand. The kids were why many of us watched, and they have been much more in the background.
Now, if they can have Jon get caught weekly, there might be something in those numbers.
