i bet it is to announce they are going to marriage counceling.....
I really must step away from this thread. I have never heard of so many "perfect" parents in my life! All I can read is "I would NEVER deny my thirsty child", "a whistle is fun outside toy, put down the phone and play with your kids" Wow! I should meet Kate, because I too am an awful mother. Have I spanked my kids, you bet. Have I sat on the phone with a friend and told my kids to stop doing something, you bet. Have I drank/ate something without sharing with my kid, you bet. Must be so nice to sit and judge someone, who you don't know, so harshly. You all bash Kate, calling her all types of names and put out all types of accusations and sleep well at night? She is judged on her parenting style, fashion style, hair style, pronunciation of words, vacations, pulling kids out of school (which so many of you all do for your Disney vacations), it goes on and on. This is what's wrong with our world. What ever happened to kindness, good will towards others? Don't judge someone until you've walked in their shoes. None of you have a CLUE as to who the Gosselin's are. You know what a tv show wants you to know and pictures the papparazzi show. That is nothing. Must be so nice to be as perfect as all of you claim to be. I can't hold a candle to any of you.
Or..the new announcement is, that the crooked houses are going in the BACK yard and Jon is going to live in them..and you see him walking towards the houses carrying his pillow and blankie!![]()
All I can say to this is I don't care how many cameras started rolling...my thirsty child would ALWAYS get a drink of water when she asked for one. Not in 45 minutes, but NOW. It's not the end of the world to wait a few minutes for water, of course...but it's also completely normal to provide WATER for your kids whenever they ask for it, rather than expecting them to sit there under the lights, silent and still, for God only knows how long. And I certainly wouldn't get some for myself, drink it in front of her, and then put it down as she whines that she's thirsty. That is just sick, sick, sick. She isn't doing this "for the kids"...she is USING those kids for her own personal gain. Period. I used to feel sympathy for her, but now she has completely gone off the deep end and is a total narcissist. Kate needs serious help, and I hope those poor kids get some sort of respite from their "work"/lives in the very near future. PLEASE, can't someone regulate this child labor?? Ugh.
ALWAYS with a capital ALWAYS? Seriously, you've never told your kids to hold on a minute....that's all Kate did. And yes...I realize Kate took a drink....but in my opinion that wasn't as cruel and heartless as people seem to think.
I say worry about things that matter.....not one stupid drink of water..
Like what?

Some moms aren't able to do that. I know my mom isn't
I haven't had enough coffee to come up with a coherent answer yetbut telling an overdramatic child that she has to wait for water isn't something that matters to me....
Like, I've just got my finger stuck in the side of a folding chair, Mommy and I think I pulled off my fingernail. Now that would get my immediate attention. Or, I'm about to throw up..that's another one that gets my attention. Those are immediate things to me.Like what?

In Kate's statement to the magazine, she did not elaborate any further other than saying she disciplined Leah as she felt was appropriate. IMO, that is confirming what the article says is true.
Kate has mentioned spanking in her speeches, but doesn't want it shown on JK8. Why that is, I don't know.
That's the bottom line. They could end it all in a short time. End the show, stay out of the front yard, pull your cars in the garage (isn't it a 6 car garage?), put up some blinds, don't alert the media to your whereabouts, don't do dumb stuff that screams "look at me". Smile and wave if someone says hello.
Sheesh, I'm so tired of the argument that J&K need the show in order to survive. They can make it work just like tons of other large families. Sure they'd have to cut corners but we already know Kate loves her coupons. It seems ridiculous to me to assume that unless they do the show, they will not be able to provide for their kids. As far as college goes, that's far down the road and there's nothing wrong with the kids taking out loans if they need to or working summer jobs to make $. Since when is a college education supposed to be handed to your kids on a silver platter?
I think it was in poor taste that the magazine ran it! Especially to put that on the cover.
I'm wondering why don't they just put up a privacy fence?![]()
Just curious..is this a bad thing Kate has done, or a good thing (it's hard for me to tell sometimes)? I barely saw it mentioned. I assume she could have kept it but decided to donate it:
'In yesterdays episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8, the Gosselins were visited by American Choppers Junior and Mikey Teutul. In the show, the guys gave Kate a colorful pink Vespa which was later donated to the Ronald McDonald House.'
Slow down everyone..I still have two foster kittens and I have to take off shortly for the adoption clinic! I don't want to read tons of pages when I get back LOL!
It is not child abuse or neglect by any stretch but is SO un-nurturing and so un-motherly.
Sitting quietly - under those hot lights - for who knows how many "takes" -(as 8 little "props" while Kate) is doing the majority of the talking is work for those kids.. They weren't playing in their yard; they weren't at an amusement park; they weren't running around with their dogs - they were working..
Kate didn't ask for any water until Mady had asked for it several times. If she was unwilling to give Mady water she shouldn't have taken a drink either until the interview was over.
BTW, I am always glad to read here. Lots of opinions, that's OK.![]()

Add me to the list of terrible mothers as I have denied my children their requests many, many times. I don't think the clip showed Kate in the best light. Yes, she drank the water and didn't share, yes, she drank the water without giving it the child first. However, be honest, if you have more than 1 child you know what would happen. As soon as you give to one, the others want to, even if they haven't asked. A lot of time would have been needed to give 8 kids a drink, and as I said, there is no "just a minute" in live tv.
In my opinion, everyone needs to relax. The child wasn't in a hot car or left outside, she certainly wasn't dehydrated. Was she thirsty, tired, bored, done with it all, miserable.....yes, but her mother didn't deny her anything, she was asked to wait. Because Kate took the drink, she looks bad. I don't know about anyone else, but when I speak publicly, I need a drink of water. Also, Kate did try to give the kid water, someone off camera said there was no time.
I have never bashed her or called her names
I think it provides balance and makes for a lively discussion here. Ladies, don't we have a good time?![]()
I've been involved with this thread for about 10 months, long before the paparazzi circus began. At that time, it was heavier with fans .. but it was then as it is now, a healthy (albeit heated) debate about the show. Most of the time I was outnumbered in my opinions, and more than once I felt like I needed to step back from the thread because I was made to feel so awful because I wasn't a Kate lover. But I've always loved this thread because it makes me think. And it makes me sad when people go, especially ones with a differing opinion.
I hope and pray that this is the case. I've said all along that I hope that Jon and Kate have people in their lives that have their (Jon and Kate's) best interests in mind and are helping them steer their way through this journey. Some that cares about them, and not trying to earn a living off their success. One of the saddest things I think I've ever read was when Kate said that their circle had gotten so small that they were surrounded by mostly "people" (publishers, nannies, et al) and there was little mention of friends, at least from Kate.
What's even sadder to me is that her family seems to be out of the picture. I wish her Mom would just step in and counsel her. Regardless of what has passed between them. She needs serious help with all of this. As far as Jon goes, I think he's already made his decision to move on if you ask me.
I think that it's good the cops were called by Kate (or someone with her) and not about Kate. The paps need to give those people some space.
I just saw the commercial for the upcoming episode.....Sorry, it was already discussed today. Are we supposed to believe that they are splitting up????!!!?!
I hope those phone calls include her Mom as well.
One side puts out rumors and on and on 'till you can't remember all the spin you've heard and read, only that it gets more ridiculous as time goes on.
I'm glad Jon removed himself from the media circus. I wish Kate would do the same, or at least take the kids out of the spotlight. It's uncomfortable to wade through all the rumors on both sides and then TLC wants us to watch them do "happy" (manufactured/fake?) times and expects us to buy it.
I wish they would finally just come clean with the truth, even if they don't have to do it for us (the public), and even if there are 40 show episodes promised to TLC.
ratings dropping, and suddenly there's a new announcement/decision in the next episode of Kate Plus 8? shocking.
Some moms aren't able to do that. I know my mom isn't
Ugh! I hate that one! My girls are famous for calling out my name and then instantly spraying vomit everywhere like a scene from The Exorcist! I still have trouble cleaning it all up without gagging!Yes, that one ALWAYS gets my attention.

I think based on the newest commercial we are not going to see the crocked house episode the one that I saw is not previewing the crocked houses!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL three of mine do that I get no warning and I have a very weak stomach. Last year my 8 yo came in around 2 am, tapped me on the shoulder to wake me up, said "Mom I'm not feeling so goo...." and threw up on my head. I have since told them to go to the bathroom, throw up THEN cry for me![]()

Actually, what Kate did by taking a drink and not letting the little girl take a drink was harmful to the child. Kate is showing and telling her daughter that she is more important than her. This is emotional abuse.
