I can't believe she is still sitting in those crappy plastic chairs. :lmao:
Yes I know that 90% of the population have them including me but I would much rather sit in comfortable lawn chairs.

He actually spoke about some facts in the area. That part was interesting. I wish they would go after the paparazzi for causing all the traffic jams.

But C.ann, since you mention he's a police office and you live in the same area as me, should I er, respect him more if he is a police office getting his 15 minutes? While I know and respect many policeman (including my own childrens Godfather who is a retired police captain), I happen to think this policeman was out of line talking like he did. Of course he could say anything, since he was anonymous.
Others (other than c.ann and anyone else that lived in my county) would not know that many of our police offices (including our chief and his wife and step son) have spent and are spending time in jail, for all their many crimes against society while wearing a police officers hat and gun). 15 minutes is 15 minutes, no matter who it is. Anonymous counts for even less.

By the way, their police officer seems to use the same language (I won't bother posting the F word he used) talking about someone that ours do, er did. Yep, that would make me respect them. I think it's just wonderful (not) that people would think a police officer saying they were scamming churhes is acceptable, without due process (so if they are scamming, why isn't that police office doing something about it. Oh..that little thing called proof. It's also so easy to quote someone that wants to remain anonymous.
I thought this was priceless, that this policeman would say this about his governor..oh, that's right, it was anonymous. Brave person, that anonymous, not to be named policeman.

And I would like to know where he got this from? I'd like to lok at these past criminal cases LOL.
So, mothers of children speaking in a church have been convicted because churches invited them and either paid them or took love offerings (I'm not talking about people who have come in and pretended to be financial advisors, I"m talking about people who have come for talks, invited)? Boy, some people can say anything as if it was fact.

The police officer didn't come forward with anything. He was sought out and asked what he thought by the blogger. Why is his opinion not valid? What if he said that he loved Jon and Kate, they were wonderful? Does that make him automatically credible? Everyone keeps coming out with the same stories, every time. There may be some truth to them, huh? If he gave his name, then he just wants to see his name in print. Since he doesn't give his name, they probably just made it up.

I thought the same thing. One with think they would have used a patio area or something!

that's exactly what I thought. And it's a local blog, not The National Enquirer. The cop made it pretty clear that it was his opinion, I thought.

Are the only credible people the ones that don't speak out?

If I remember right, without going back to look, credible wasn't a word I used in my orginal note about what he had to say. Someone else used that word and I did comment on what she said.

I don't think it would make the news if something nice was said about Kate and Jon. No one would talk about it. I doubt there would be any 15 minutes of fame in saying something good, and I doubt it would make us buy the magazines. Most people like the dirt..that's what sells the magazines. How quickly was Britney off the mag covers, when she finally started to turn her live around (if in fact she really did)? So IMO, even if a neighbor was saying something good, I doubt we'd know about it.

I would have listened better if he didn't use the F word and if he didn't mention scamming churches, without any proof. I like to deal in facts, and saying they are scamming churches is not factual. Now, if they are legally accused of that, I'll sit up and pay attention. I did pay attention to the first part of the blog, about how the money is being used up..that, to me is prob factual, and something should be done about it. If the house is not in a commercial area and is being used commercially, to me that would be a fact (and easy enough for someone to prove) and something should be done about it.

The police officer has been hired to hold up the law. Not gossip with a blogger. If he is speaking as part of his job, then give facts that can be backed up (isn't that what people hired to uphold the law are supposed to do (well, not in our area, but in most others)? Otherwise, it's just so much more gossip. If it was good, or if it was bad, it should be factual. This is just my opinion. It sounds like yours is different from mine. If he had given his name, then there would be a better chance someone would look into his accusations. By the way, it's not the name that that I said is getting the 15 minutes (you said : If he gave his name, then he just wants to see his name in print. Since he doesn't give his name, they probably just made it up), it's the actual person giving out the info, it's their 15 minutes of fame. With or without a name.

We had a lot of that around here when a local was accused of killing almost 20 people in the back of his watermelon truck by taking them over the boarder without his air conditioner on. Many neighbors talked to the press about this guy. So many were waving them down, to get on TV and were interviewed. Fox TV, ABC, NBC, they were all here for at least 10 days (and this isn't even the unibombers brother who also live in this area..I wonder if it's something in the water?). When they sent them subpoena's, to give character witness about this guy, most all had to admit they didn't really know him, but of him. The stories they had told about him were just that, stories. Stuff they heard from others. The stories grew and grew, until this guy was almost the saint of our street. Many of the neighbors made it into national magazines, includding a couple that had only lived in the neighborhood for a couple of weeks, and admitted they never said more than hi to him.

Sorry, I rambled, but I really would like to just see facts, and if they are doing something wrong, then let the investigation show that. If they shouldn't be filming at their house, then get it stopped. If they are not treating their kids OK, get CPS in there. But the gossiping..I can't listen and say, yes, that must be true, because a policeman, or pastor, or neighbor said it.

And I sure don't think Kate's 'girls' have been worked on now. The surgeon told her to get a better bra, and she should have listened to him.

Maybe its time to get Home Depot or Lowes involved to give them lawn furniture ;). There's another episode right there.

I don't think anything good will come out, for that very reason. There's a reason Kate's in the front yard playing with the kids, just as there's a reason the paparazzi show up on a secluded island where actual celebrities go to vacation in peace .. someone (Kate? Jon? TLC? all of the above?) wants it out there. One of the things the cop said, was that the paparazzi was there because Kate told them to be there?
We have been increasing patrols in the area as paparazzi continue to infest, and worse yet these paparazzi insist that Kate Gosselin personally gave them permission to be there to photograph her.

There has been speculation on other sites that there is a connection between TLC and the company/paparazzi releasing the pictures. (is it mostly the same one? I haven't paid that much attention.) That TLC is pulling the strings. As far as I know, there's no proof to that claim, but it's something kicked around, anyway. I guess we'll see after Monday's show .. if the ratings drop further, no doubt the PR people will kick things up a notch.

I'm not a J&K+8 fan, but when my kids were little, we worried about spills. I would drink some of a very-full cup or bottle so that it was easier for the kid to manage.

Perhaps Kate was lowering the amount of water in the bottle so that Mady wouldn't spill it on her clothes?

I understand your idea, but you're talking about little kids. Isn't Mady almost 9though? I'm sure she's quite capable of drinking a water bottle. :confused3 At that age, kids drink water bottles all the time for school and sports.

Kate looks miserable in the latest photos. For someone who claims to be so busy, she sure sits around a lot. It must be so boring for her to be home with her kids rather than out promoting her books. I bet someone is tipping the "p" off so that they are getting all these shots of her at Starbucks, home, etc......I was wondering what happened to the big blue transport van but I saw it in the garage in the one picture. She must like the sport minivan better. Its unfortunate but Mady is getting a reputation like Kate. People are always pointing out how bratty she is and I feel sorry for her when she is older and reads all this stuff about her.

No, I don't think it's just the ones who don't speak out, or the ones that only have good to say. I do think it's the ones that speak with facts and not emotions or gossip or talk for pay.

When you are a policeman or a clergy, people expect that what you are saying is based on fact and truth. If it's just this policeman's opinion, and because he's a policeman, people think it's factual, and the truth, it could hurt people.

I personally don't know how TLC can pull this back out of the hat now. I think (just my opinion, nothing factual LOL) that this family has been hurt far worse by the mags, the 'opinions' the nit picking than they could have ever hurt themselves. Are they also to blame because they put themselves out there and didn't stay the big family that they were just trying to manage, and share on TV? Yes, IMO, of course. So many wanted a part of this family..and were willing to give them 'stuff' to be a part, that it just got too big. I think they were ill prepared to take it all in, and I stand by what I said a long ways back. A lot of the blame is TLC. They show us what makes for good TV. We think we know this family and all they do and how they act (even when we aren't watching). And we just don't. I really don't know these people, how they really treat their kids (other than stuff like the water..who knows, maybe Mady had just been being hugged, but that isn't going to get the ratings), or even each other, when the camera is off. We only see what makes the ratings go up and what some people decide they should tell us.

I One of the things the cop said, was that the paparazzi was there because Kate told them to be there?

Didn't the blogger or the cop say that the gas staions and convenience stores were being paid to tip them when they were out and about (sorry, no interest in going back to read it)?

Maybe they should make a nice big asphalt area in the back yard, so they can be out back, and the kids can play with their bikes. We have a lot of kids playing out front here too, in the driveways with the parents on their porches watching them, but we don't have (for the moment) any paparazzi on the street, or across the street. I wonder if anyone that lives down there, knows if they could get access with the long lenses to the back of the house, where the pool area is (is that fenced in?), is they put asphalt for the bikes back there. I wonder what is behind their house/property.

how do we know what the facts are? in theory, this is reality television and what we see is how it is. but we all know better than that... as you said, this is the TLC edited version of the show is their life and their life is the show.

and as we've seen on this thread, what one person sees as an emotional statement, another is trying to figure out what the big deal is.

It looks like kate has on a strapless bra with pink dress or something. It looks like it is cutting her *chest* in half. You can see a line--a line that shouldn't be in a built in bra of the dress (unless it was dried in the dryer and got too hot or something). Anyway, the top looks funky and yesterday's dress looked better than this one, IMO. This one is just ugly to me.

She does look pretty in coral and pink though--she wears a lot of it. My coloring is the same as hers and I wear it too but just because it is a good color doesn't mean the dress works IYKWIM.

Are we sure this is the front of this house? Seems like the pics I saw had the loop around the garage area as the back of the house. It seemed like a more protected area to be in. On all those acres shouldn't most of it be more protected?
I have outdoor chairs just like those so I won't comment about them but we do use them a lot.

Yes, she has been looking miserable..miserably sad, I thought. I have no idea how much she sits around. I've only seen a few pictures. I hope she's out sitting, to be with her kids while they play. If she wasn't, and the Nanny was, people wouldn't be happy with that. Why would you think she is bored home with her kids :confused3

Didn't the blogger or the cop say that the gas staions and convenience stores were being paid to tip them when they were out and about (sorry, no interest in going back to read it)?

the blogger said the convenience store guy said they were getting tipped off, the cop said the part about the paps telling them Kate said it was ok.

maybe it's both. maybe it's neither. who knows?

I just like reading things from the local perspective, whether it be newspaper, blog, etc. Some of them have been making comments about Jon and Kate on and off since the beginning. I like the local slant over the tabloids and entertainment mags, anyday.

I feel sorry for the kids. Knowing that people were following my family and taking photographs from behind trees would have bothered me as a child. It would have made me feel unsafe. WHen they are out and about is one thing but I find it completely unacceptable for them to hide and photogrpah them in their own home. Those kids need to get outside and play without having to worry about their picture showing up in magazine or on a website the next day.

We all need to stop looking at those pictures. IF we do not look, then they will stop posting them. Do not buy any of the rags that have interviews with this family or about this family (including People). Only the public's desire for more info on this family ending can make this stop fro those poor kids!

Well, if a policeman says that someone is fleecing churches, or whatever word he used, don't you think if that was a fact, there would be iminent arrests?
If a policeman says they are exploiting their children, and he knew that as fact, wouldn't you think he would call CPS? Etc to the other stuff he said.

We don't know what the facts are, but he should if he is commenting on them. I'm not talking about what we are all saying (and I find it very interesting that we all see things so different), but a figure of authority (which is prob tougher for me to even say, since so many of our policeman are in jail. Many of the criminals had to be set loose, once the policeman used the evidence..ouch for our area) if it be a pastor or a policeman should keep their mouths shut (IMO) if they aren't giving facts. If it's just gossip, they are hurting people, and I don't feel that is right. Again, that is my opinion.

how do we know what the facts are? in theory, this is reality television and what we see is how it is. but we all know better than that... as you said, this is the TLC edited version of the show is their life and their life is the show.
