I agree that they can't lock themselves up in their house. People would then say, "Oh, they think they're too good to mingle with the regular folk", or "Oh look! They have a grocery company deliver their groceries to them", etc. I would hate to be in their situation because they're damned if they do & damned if they don't.

Oh Lord...they're admired by Tori Spelling.:rolleyes1 Now there's a heck of endorsement.:scared: The rate they're going they're going to have kids just like Tori Spelling. Doesn't that just scream "normal"..(not)...:sad2:

Did you read that somewhere on line? Because I didn't say that. I said Tori Spelling said that soon the pap will move onto someone else. I've not read that she admired them.

ok...if that is true then Jon is such a freaking loser.....but I pretty much think he is already...

I agree, whatever the circumstances were/are between J&K, he's a pig for cheating. And she's 23, not that it really matters but man oh man is she young.

agreed.

Why on earth is Kate fighting so hard to hang on to this marriage? it's obvious that neither one (no one person is at fault here, IMO) wants to be married to the other... I guess the answer really is that clear... money. because I cannot image why on earth these two continue on this path of destruction, playing out in public. How awful, awful, AWFUL for those children. And if it isn't awful now, if they are isolated from the media now .. there will be a day they're not and it's all there, just waiting to be googled. :sad1:

It is disgusting to see it playing out in the tabloids and on TV (although I am no longer watching the show). I can't imagine what those little ones will think when they're older and can read for themselves how their parents sold themselves out for money. At least when my parents had trouble and eventually divorced, it wasn't in the tabloids and I didn't have to worry about watching it on TV!:sad2:

Honestly, I don't think I'm gonna last long with this season of the show. For real, I feel dupped by the show and the couple. I think they're marriage has been in big trouble for a long, long time (like I said, I think jon was definitely checked out at the renewal while Kate was very into the whole renewal and unaware). I think they have been having serious problems and we're keeping up appearance, so to speak, for the show and the money. Jon and caught on film and it all came tumbling down. Now, everything feels like a ''show"--pretend. Not a real family of 10 making a life together. It feels more like 2 people pushing 8 others for cash.
I think I'll try to give it up and cancel my Tivo season pass because it all feels like a big lie.

Completely agree! I feel very duped too. It seems clear now that they were putting on a happy face for the show and money. I wonder where their kids rank in their priorities regarding their relationship, meaning J&K's marriage. I've stopped watching, I can't stomach it any longer...the lies, sadness and most likely the inevitable divorce.

Did I miss an article? I'm not sure Kate is fighting hard to hang onto her marriage. I assume that TLC and their contract may be fighting for them to stay together. I don't think they are a good match, in any case, never have.

Good point, TLC is I'm sure doing what they can to prolong the semblance of a marriage for their own bottom line. Sad. I used to think J&K were interesting to watch, the banter back and forth but then it just got more cynical and nasty. Frankly, the season premiere was very depressing and sad, I actually cried.

I agree that they can't lock themselves up in their house. People would then say, "Oh, they think they're too good to mingle with the regular folk", or "Oh look! They have a grocery company deliver their groceries to them", etc. I would hate to be in their situation because they're damned if they do & damned if they don't.

Kate has said time and again that she will keep moving forward. She is very determined and driven, those of us who've seen the show have witnessed it. It really isn't fair to the kids though to stay locked up in the house because they're idiots. What a mess though, isn't it?:sad2:

Tori also does not get along with her mother. There was a show about her mother's mansion and all her collections. Her mother mentioned that she met Liam (Tori's son) but not the new baby Stella. The mansion is worth over 150 million--it has 3 stories, over 100 bedrooms, bowling alley, wine celler, gym etc....plus giftwrapping rooms and all kinds of colllections. Tori is doing reality because she needs the money!! Jon & Kate invited television cameras into their home for monetary reasons. Remember, they were shopping at the salvation army at one time! The are nobody's who became somebody's because they are on television. When this show stops airing (hopefully soon) they will be by nobody's again! The "p" people were hounding Tori because of the estranged relationship with her parents. They will go after anyone who gives them a story.
A neighbor from Jon & Kate's old house wrote that the Gosselin's were never friendly, refused all help and never really fit in the neighborhood. In the old episode unless they were taking one of the kids on their "special day" or to the doctor you never saw Kate going to Starbucks--especially in her sweat pants and t-shirts. Now she even puts gas in the family van?? No staff to run these errands for her?? I can't wait for the "p" people to prey on someone else--boring!!!

Thanks Madge, I just wantd to be clear that I didn't say Tori admired her. Watching the show is a ways from that.

I find it hard to believe that Kate never went to Starbucks before. The difference was, she wasn't followed by the Papz until Jon's little fun. I suspect, if the Papz had reason to follow them before, you might have had a pic of her there. Or perhaps in the begining she couldn't affored Starbucks. Now she can. You are right, I think, that in the begining she was not able to afford (or been given) the clothes she wears now. I'm not sure why that is a bad thing, that she dresses better, but it it what it is. If she was doing a special day being filmed by TLC, maybe TLC didn't choose to share a Starbucks moment with us, if indeed there was one.

Tori Spelling has never been a nobody (unless you meant that to be just J & K and weren't including Tori, I couldn't tell)..not with her famous father. She was born with a silver spoon and had never known poverty as a child. I totally agree with you about why the Paps went after Tori, however. She supposedly had a golden life, well loved by her parents, especailly her dad.

I'm not sure why it's an issue about putting gas in her own car. I'm sure she could afford to send someone out for gas for her. So is it bad that she put it in, or bad because she could have afforded to pay someone else? I'm not getting where you were going with that. I haven't put gas in my own car in years, but I can do it if I have to (I think LOL).

As for the neighbor..her 15 minutes of fame. That may indeed be what she thought of them. I suspect J & K didn't have time for neighbors. This was the first time I'm heard anyone comment that the Gosselins refused all help thought..I thought the complaint was that they took advantage of all sorts of help.

I don't think Tori is still a fan, from the article:

She tells “Extra’s” Mario Lopez that she was -- operative word -- a huge fan of the show.

"It was one of my favorite shows. Now, it seems to have gone to an odd place.… I loved the fact that they were a normal family. They weren’t in Hollywood. They were real and it’s hard for me now to see them on the cover of People Magazine…. I was like, ‘Wow, I’m not watching a celebrity family on TV. I’m actually watching a real family and I want to know what that’s like so I can relate to that.'

"So now it’s gone to a whole different level and I feel bad for them."

Starbucks moment with us, if indeed there was one.

They refused help that wasn't up to their standards and from the 'common people'. The neighbor was a pastor I think, an older man. His blog was very thoughtful and I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking for fame LOL!

It wasn't quoted which neighbor, but IMO anyone who comments on this junk in public rag mags/blogs, is looking for their 15, if said nicely or not. I have to say our pastor would have tried their best to talk to them personally, and if something needed to be reported to the authorities he would have done so. It would never have been discussed publicly, which could humiliate someone. He would not have put out a message about the parents that could someday hurt the kids, even if done very nicely. I did read the blog you are talking about (I assume it was the one so many commented on), and while I thought it was nicely written, again I just figured that was his opinion and his 15 minutes. Doesn't matter that I may have agreed with some of it..it was his opinion and his 15 minutes.

How he would know why help was refused would have been a guessing game at best. They certainly took a lot of help from what I would call common folk, such as laundry folding, ironing, and help feeding the babies. I have no idea why K & J would have turned down certain people, but that was their choice, and I wasn't there to see if it was someone I would turn down (maybe too old, maybe too young, maybe they had a bad feeling about someone, maybe maybe maybe). I've turned down neighbors for cat babysitting, just on my own feelings. No particular reason.

Most people argue they took too much help. Again, darned if the do, darned if they don't.

This was the article I read about how they never fit into the old neighborhood. Tori was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. I do think Tori is an actress. Her reality show is more about "her" life rather than her kids. Tori must need the money to do a reality show.
Maybe Kate did go to Starbucks in the earlier days and they didn't show it. I just think that it is so strange that Jon & Kate don't really have any friends. Other than paid help or relatives (when they spoke) you never saw any couples with their kids going to the Gosselin house for a play day or dinner. Maybe they do have friends but don't want them shown on television so they don't have to pay them. If the kids didn't have each other, you never hear of any special playmate or friend.
My aunt had 8 kids all under age 10. My uncle worked and my aunt stayed home with the kids. She was the best baker around. They ate a lot of hamburger helper, had to go to places in 2 trips as their car wasn't big enough, but had friends over all the time. A real family life!

Cara mentioned a playmate friend (was it at the birthday party?) recently and Mady told her to shush, they weren't supposed to mention names on the show, so I would guess they have friends but they aren't part of the show. We know Jon has friends because he says he does (besides her), and sometimes we see people we don't know . They do have times when they aren't taping, so maybe that is when their friends come over. Or maybe they don't.

I think the Starbucks addiction has been around for awhile. I seem to recall Jon coming home from work with the cup in his hand and I think Kate got him a gift card for Starbucks for a Valentine's Day gift or something. I asked awhile back how come Starbucks wasn't a sponsor of the show because they had the cups all over the place with the logo blurred out. :confused3 I guess why pay for it when they're getting it for free now???

I watched the "Little Couple" the other night for the first time and I thought that was very well done. She is a doctor and he is a business executive. I'm just hoping they don't try hooking them up with the Gosselin's for a show.

She is hoping to have children, so I wonder if they plan on continuing with the show if that happens. I found it pretty boring, but maybe it will get better.

Well at least if the show doesn't work out (Little Couple) they still have their careers. Some of these new shows coming out are crazy. My daughter watches "I'm a Celebrity get me out of here" and I thought that was the biggest waste of time. They have a super model from 1974--a couple Baldwin brothers and the wife of that politician that was ousted for trying to sell a senate seat along with other people I've never heard of before.

I haven't watched that, although I've wondered..what does the 'get me out of here mean'? What's the premise of the show?

These so called celebrities are in some camp in a jungle somewhere and they do these gross challenges to earn food and money. I don't know if they donate the money to charity but I'm sure they get paid something for their appearance. Anytime they want to quit a task or leave the jungle they say "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" and that ends the task or takes them home. Like I said before, these shows are getting worse and worse.
