As far as the bibs, kate has said in previous episodes how she feels about stains, so I would think they are wearing them because kate hates cleaning stains and she can't stand to just let her kids wear stained clothes. She talked about this at length in older episodes.

for a messier meal like the chili mac for dinner, I can understand why you'd break out the bibs .. but this was the first time I noticed that they were wearing bibs while eating a meal that had a lower stain potential. Do they bring the bibs to restaurants, wear them at school? Will she send the bibs to kindergarten in the fall?

Regarding the lower ratings, I wouldn't be surprised if some more compromising pictures surface of either Jon or Kate, just something to get people talking and watching.:surfweb:

Yup, my thoughts exactly. Actually US Magazine is running a cover with the heading that Jon cheated on Kate on her b-day while in Utah. Then they have the pics of Deanna and Jon. :sad2: http://www.usmagazine.com/news/new-details-revealed-jon-gosselin-cheated-on-kates-birthday-200996

I love that article! Especially when he says that they should rename the sextuplets Motel 6! :lmao:

Me too! I thought that was hilarious. That whole article was right on the money.:thumbsup2

Ok,I am going to put my flame suit on big time, am I the only one that doesn't think these kids are cute? Not looks wise, I would never go there. But there are so many of them I can't keep who is who straight and they all seem to whine all the time. Maybe it is because my kids are older and i have less tolerance for small children, I don't know. They just aren't that endearing to me at all. I am not one of those people that is dying to hold someone elses baby either so it is probably just me but I thought I would throw it out there that they just don't melt my heart like they do other peoples. I do feel HORRIBLE for the kids, don't get me wrong. It is sad to see any family in turmoil but with all the tabloids that are out there, gossip and tv shows like twisted fate (all of which I am getting sucked into)that has to be hard on at least the older kids.

No flames here. Personally, I don't "get" the entire fasination with the show. I've only watched a few times. Early on..flipping through the stations. Interesting enough to see how a family with 8 kids manages. Then..I gotta tell ya, after a while. Okay..what's the big deal. They have 8 kids. My neighbor is one of 13 kids! There were a couple of mutiples in that bunch too. I've four myself. Of course my youngest is 17..so maybe I'm like you, have a "been there, done that" attitude. I mean I understand the difficulty in caring for 8 children when they were young. However, these kids are now 5..and it is infinitely easier, and it's just now an invastion of their privacy and little lives. It's like watching a nursery school. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know the husband wasn't happy. Just look at the way he sits in the chair..and he says pretty much nothing. I found the show boring. I did tune in again, when all this media hype started to be plastered all over the tv/magazines. I must be really out of it. I still don't get it. Even my daughter who teaches in a preschool came home one evening and says to me " and why are we watching this?". I answered her "I don't know..I'm trying to find out what exactly the fasination is everyone seems to have with this family":confused3
The mom is pretty, had a tummy tuck. So what. She colored her hair,(again, thank God for colorists!) the older the kids got, the more time she had to devote to her looks and feeling good about herself. Okay..what mother with a bunch of kids hasn't been down that road either?...Hubby..he needs a kick in the pants, and they both need to shut down the tv show, and work on the marriage for the sake of the 8 children they brought into this world. I think what supposedly started as a documentary, has taken on a life of it's own. Reality TV...not exactly like reality at all. These kids are living in a fantasy world..and so are mom and dad.
Let's flash forward about 5 or 6 years(for the older two) and watch them deal with their teenage years...now THAT should be interesting, and I bet they won't want the camera's around for those conversations! Although..these folks aren't gonna make it that far..not at this rate, at least not together.

LOL I can imagine with the way they whine now what the teen years will be like. I watched a few episodes before and didn't get it either then tuned back in with all the drama. I am only watching because of the drama, I freely admit, I am not into picking apart kates every smile and look or Jons passive aggressiveness. I don't care if they wear bibs or are in high chairs. I think this family is a train wreck and I must be a sick person to be wattching because of that. Sad state of affairs that this is the best entertainment I can find for me on tv at the moment.

I just watched the 100th episode last night. I thought jon and kate seemed okay with each other, they did not look split up to me in that episode.

As far as the bibs, kate has said in previous episodes how she feels about stains, so I would think they are wearing them because kate hates cleaning stains and she can't stand to just let her kids wear stained clothes. She talked about this at length in older episodes.
You have to remember J&K8 taped these shows since January. Someone said Aiden was holding the toy that one of the dogs swalled, so this taping had to be sometime in January.

I just got my TV Guide in the mail, and they had late breaking news.
Anyhow, they said TLC had almost all the episodes ready to go for this Season, and everyone was called back to work, to revamp and edit the situation. It said TLC had to "scramble" and call people into work, and everyone was in a frazzle to pull together to get the interviews redone and voice overs redone.

I should of brought the magazine along to scan like Madge does. I had to laugh, because it brought up a lot of situations that we have already discussed on this forum.

It said the average viewer will not realize they are having "issues" since most shows were already filmed and their marriage problems surfaced after the tapings. Thus, TLC scrambling back to work to redo the "couch interviews". It also said Jon and Kate are going to marriage counseling and TLC said if "Jon and Kate" agrees to let their therapy sessions be taped, then TLC will do the tapings. In the end TV Guide made a comment that they hope they don't, but said if the do, the ratings will go through the roof.

TV Guide had a poll and 90% said Jon and Kate should stop taping and work on their marriage.

Hate to bring up the ice cream again, but they weren't wearing bibs at Disney when the child got "ruined" (:rotfl:) but have to wear them with lunch meat. :confused3 I can't imagine a teacher putting a bib on six kids - they'll either be picked on for wearing them or everyone will want one! :rotfl:I swear she doesn't believe in having to change their clothes. I'm sure the amount of "regular" laundry is bad enough and if you had to change their clothes at every meal it would tripple but really?? My DSs 4 and 2 don't wear bibs and I manage with the possible stains just fine I think. Maybe it's her way of keeping them "litte" (like not wanting them to grow up???)? I know it's a "little" thing but it's just something I get stuck on every now and again!

While I was reading the vancover article, a question popped in my head. (Yes, I hear voices);) When is Jon and Kate's wedding anniversary? I wonder how TLC will handle that?:rolleyes1

kate is always away with the six and jon stays at home with the twins is because kate get a lot more attention when she is with the six.. she is never just with the twins..

Jon is so boring....Kate & 6 kids is much more intersting.

I don't think that's completely correct .. I don't doubt that is what the TV Guide says, but it doesn't make sense. I can't see where they had enough footage taped for 40 episodes of season 5. I believe they had (at least) 4 or 5 shows taped, and had to go back and edit those, that explains the discrepancies in how Kate looked in the Emeril episode vs. how she looked on the couch. But if it's accurate and they had enough footage for 40 episodes already filmed, and they have to go back and re-shoot?? OMG, how much have those kids really been working, then? :confused3

ok...if that is true then Jon is such a freaking loser.....but I pretty much think he is already...

agreed.

BUT. two things come to my mind...

1. Jon's mom said he was being portrayed incorrectly or something similar

2. the article I read (and still can't find to link. grrr) said that Jon would be made to look worse, leading up to him moving out.

__________________________________________

Why on earth is Kate fighting so hard to hang on to this marriage? it's obvious that neither one (no one person is at fault here, IMO) wants to be married to the other... I guess the answer really is that clear... money. because I cannot image why on earth these two continue on this path of destruction, playing out in public. How awful, awful, AWFUL for those children. And if it isn't awful now, if they are isolated from the media now .. there will be a day they're not and it's all there, just waiting to be googled. :sad1:

If they do divorce, then both of them will be loosers and so will the kids. This marriage and this family can still be saved - but they need to heal behind closed doors.

Can't say I'm going to believe Jon was drinking heavily and smoking pot while having an affair on Kate's b-day because these tabloids blow everything so out of proportion. I lean toward believing it, but do not want to believe it and they just sensationalize everything.

I doubt Kate expect the teacher to put a bib on the kids in K. I didn't--even if I used one at home, she wouldn't wear one at school or even out to eat. I definitely used one for her at 2yo though--I do remember that.
I read all this and think "what's the big deal?" but, then again, if I see a 5yo kid in a stroller at WDW I'm thinking "what are they thinking--5 and in a stroller?" because we never did that. We always, every day at WDW went back to the room for the afternoon nap so to avoid meltdowns at the parks. But everyone does things differently and lots of people do not give naps on vacation and lots of people use strollers for 5+ and have good reason to (for strollers that is. I still think people are crazy for thinking a child can go from 8-9pm and more every day all day for a vacation at WDW ;) )

But I realize, it is a show and we're all commenting on it. So, please don't think I'm getting personal. my comments are also about the show and why things may be done the way they are. Just seeing the other side of things...

Honestly, I don't think I'm gonna last long with this season of the show. For real, I feel dupped by the show and the couple. I think they're marriage has been in big trouble for a long, long time (like I said, I think jon was definitely checked out at the renewal while Kate was very into the whole renewal and unaware). I think they have been having serious problems and we're keeping up appearance, so to speak, for the show and the money. Jon and caught on film and it all came tumbling down. Now, everything feels like a ''show"--pretend. Not a real family of 10 making a life together. It feels more like 2 people pushing 8 others for cash.
I think I'll try to give it up and cancel my Tivo season pass because it all feels like a big lie.

While I was reading the vancover article, a question popped in my head. (Yes, I hear voices);) When is Jon and Kate's wedding anniversary? I wonder how TLC will handle that?:rolleyes1

Something I just read (I think an article posted here) said they (TLC) had a "romantic" (their word not mine) weekend getaway planned but was cancelled. Maybe the US Weekly article??

Watch the video that goes with this article: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b128305_kate_in_jon_out_its_constant_gosselin.html A fan (I'm assuming based on the interaction and the gentleman's comments to the paps "you guys have enough pictures - back off" or something like that) asked Kate for a picture with her and Kate pulled out a pre-signed picture of the family instead of taking a picture with the girl (granted "young woman" might be the appropriate term as she looks like late teen - ish aged to me). Yuck....and WHY does Kate always carry two bags with her??? I've been wondering that!

Yesterday, prodigal parent Kate Gosselin finally returned home to Reading, Pa., where she proceed to leave the twins and sextuplets home with dad while she ran errands.

This morning, she hopped back into her white Mazda minivan for a déjà vu round with two kids along for the ride. Cara and Collin joined her for a stop at—where else?—Starbucks, followed by Kinko's and Dick's Sporting Goods.

The mother of eight even got dressed up for the occasion, donning a Victoria Beckham-like cap and big black shades. (Maybe if her husband looked more like David Beckham, the couple wouldn't be in this predicament. Hmmm...)

In the meantime, Jon Gosselin tells reporters he's making himself scarce...by heading to Delaware.

Word is he's headed down to pick up the family's German Shephard puppies, Shoka and Nala.

The family has been given a hard time of late for their treatment of the animals, although the local Human Society told ABC News, "We have no credible reason to believe in any way that there is cruelty going on."

"Shoka and Nala are loyal companions who we consider members of our family," Papa Gosselin responded in a statement. "We would never do anything to hurt them and treat them with the respect and love that they deserve."

Jon didn't take any of the eight kids on his canine venture, nor did he bring rumored mistress Deanna Hummel.

The 23-year-old teacher was spotted at an afterschool picnic with fellow teachers from Glenside Elementary yesterday afternoon. E! News has learned that, while she hasn't been spotted with Gosselin since news of the hookup broke in late April, she has returned to her partying ways.

"She's been out having fun," Chill Lounge manager Mark Ratcliffe tells E! News. His local hot spot was the site of those first photos of Hummel and Gosselin together. "It looks like she's enjoying herself."

The reality dad, however, hasn't been by since news of the supposed affair leaked.

Tori Spelling to Jon and Kate Gosselin: 'This, too, shall pass'
Jun 9, 2009, 05:54 PM | by Lynette Rice

In an Extra interview that'll air tonight, Tori Spelling tells host Mario Lopez that she was a huge fan of Jon & Kate Plus 8 but now, "it seems to have gone to an odd place."

"I loved the fact that they were a normal family; they weren’t in Hollywood," says Spelling, who appeared on Extra with husband Dean McDermott to promote the fourth season of their Oxygen show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. "It’s hard for me now to see them on the cover of People magazine…I was like, ‘Wow, I’m not watching a celebrity family on TV. I’m actually watching a real family, and I want to know what that’s like so I can relate to that.’ So now it’s gone to a whole different level, and I feel bad for them."

Spelling then offered some advice to the Gosselins: "I hope they’re prepared for what they are going through and just know that this too shall pass…Next week, it will be someone else on the cover and you can go about your life. Good luck to them.”

I wonder why she wouldn't take a picture with that person, it was clear she's a big fan?

I carry 2 bags with me, depending on what I'm doing or where I'm going ... :rolleyes1

Yeah...that's what I was wondering. I mean Kate went on about how she's realized how important the fans are in the season premire right? Now she just hands out pictures of her family? Another thing - they keep recycling the same family pictures. Haven't they gotten any done recently? I guess not since they haven't been on any magazines lately as a family?? It just always seems to be the same one or two of J&K (I could see why they wouldn't want a picture just the two of them right now) and the same with the family. :confused3

Oh I carry multiple bags on occassion as well since I've still got two little ones. It just kind of struck me as a little odd. I'm just picky maybe today? Who knows..... :goodvibes

And we're not seeing the bodyguard in the most recent "since she's been home" pics - maybe he took some time off to spend with his family??

I wonder if she is doing laundry at all. That would be be one of the first things I would give up if I had millions! I bet part of it is to keep them little and well, controlled.
