I didn't take it literally..I assumed she was upset, and meant her clothes. I never thought she meant her child was ruined. Personally, if I had all those kids crying for ice cream and pulling at me, I would have jumped over the rope and ran as fast I could to get out of there LOL!

I just know that comments that my parents made about me or to me when I was young stuck. I'm not perfect but I do try and pick my words carefully around my kids.

we have a bag like that with us now, and my DD is 7. She gets it in her head that she wants and itsakadoozie, and within a minute it's dripping EVERYWHERE. LOLOL ... Kate had been to WDW before, and she's a planner. Maybe she did have a backpack full of stuff and the episode was edited to reflect what we saw, and not what happened.

What I've always thought was interesting about the episode is that we all know how awesome Disney customer service is. I'm surprised that there wasn't a CM getting the children clean clothes.. from a store. And again, maybe they did, and we didn't see it. I have a feeling a lot went on in that particular segment that wasn't seen.

Agreed that Kate had been there before and had an idea of what to expect - especially with kids. I'm sure a LOT was edited out from that episode.

I agree too with the customer service - there were several CMs around. Again, I agree it may have been edited or getting one a princess shirt would create a request for the next and the next and so on...I could see that happening too!

agreed... I said what I did mainly for the joke factor, since (IMO) Kate really isn't a very good public speaker.

That's how I took it. :thumbsup2

I've never considered myself to be calm, LOL .. just prepared. The outfits I pack as a replacement never took up that much room. I always had a t-shirt, lightweight cotton pair of shorts (as opposed to denim or khaki, that are bulky), and underwear .. folded flat and put in a ziploc with the air squeezed out. It took up just a little space and weighed almost nothing.

TOTALLY AGREE!! I do the same with my kid's clothes to keep everything straight. As for the matching, that's why I said possibly taking a backpack (which they might have and we didn't see it) since you could easily fit the 8 changes of clothes in there without a problem.

I can't wait until I'm at Disney next month! :cool1: Then I can pack my bag and take whatever I want on my trip! :rotfl: I'm taking DH and DS4 for their birthday and it's a SURPRISE (we're taking DS2 too but it's not his birthday!). It makes it easy when DS4 and DH share a birthday! :thumbsup2

Ok, back to the thread.......

I just know that comments that my parents made about me or to me when I was young stuck. I'm not perfect but I do try and pick my words carefully around my kids.
I'm sorry.

I seldom paid attention to my parents (or so they said), and I doubt they paid attention to what they said to me. I can't remember anything that was said. I guess that is what makes each of us unique. Some things bother someone that would roll of the shoulders of another.

It is the negative things that are said that you remember.
Oh, I'm pretty sure my parents said some negative things LOL. Especially the time I almost burnt down the house!
In any case, she's ruined, just meant her outfit had ice cream all over it. When she gets a bit older and watches the scene, she'd have to be dense, to not realize mom meant her outfit. With all the screaming the kids were doing once mom took away the ice cream, I doubt they heard anything Kate said (IMO).

Anyone post these? This sight has to be allowed to take photos and TLC has to be paying them to run them. They are like portraits, especially at the beach. The 45 pics of Kate pumping gas today in 4" heels don't look staged at all! I keep getting an ad for the show tonight at Just Jared. Coincidence? I think not! Cute kids. Guess that's the non-nanny! I hate to ask but where's mom? I wonder if they are staying at the big house together? :confused3

... After taking that all into consideration, we shouldn't be surprised by the train wreck that's taken the world by storm. Still, that's not reason to remain silent when things are going horribly wrong. The chaos surrounding any kind of wreck requires analysis and intervention from people who still have their wits about them and who have some sense of not only what's going on, but what to do. People who have been in wrecks usually aren't in any condition to tend to themselves. They need outside help, and they need it fast...

...Which leads me to this; we need to respond. Silence is not an option. One of the great lessons of history is that those who remain silent and uninvolved when a group of people are being oppressed (in this case, 8 small children) are not helping, but hurting the situation. Those people who choose to remain silent and not intervene by speaking up, have chosen to actively participate in the oppression. It's guilt by silence. In this case, two parents and 8 little kids are laying wounded on the side of the road.

Bears repeating..

I'm really sorry to see you leave this thread - simply because people have "demanded" more from you than you feel the need to explain.. I've been accused of the same - I believe one person referred to it as "deflecting".. In reality, it's all about boundaries - the personal boundaries I choose for myself and the boundaries I choose to set for others.. There was a time when I was much more open to answering every single question posed to me - covering every teeny tiny detail - feeling that I was somehow "obligated" to do that simply because I'm posting on a public message board - but those days are long gone.. I have since learned that the very first "obligation" I have (on any message board - as well as in RL) is an obligation to myself.. If I'm not true to "myself", I can't be true to anyone.. While it may irritate some that my boundaries don't meet with their expectations (or in some cases, outright "demands") that is their issue to struggle with - certainly not one that should cause me to back away from any message board, thread, or any other issue I have an interest in.. I only wish you could feel the same way - because you have brought up some very valid points in regards to this whole J&K fiasco..

I just know that I certainly don't wish either J&K ill will and really hope they can repair the mess they've both made. Yes, Kate makes me crazy but so does Jon. They have together made this mess and are both responsible for the outcome, especially with regard to their kids.

My thoughts exaclty.. While I wish that J&K could work out their marital issues , I just don't see that happening now - and especially while this show is still on the air.. But as I have said many, many times - they are adults - and what they choose to do with their marriage is their business.. But who is watching out for the children? Certainly not Jon and Kate - or they wouldn't be exposing their children to all of this public humiliation.. Hopefully people will get tired of watching this train wreck - the number of viewers will continue to drop - eventually the show will die - and those poor children can try to salvage at least part of their childhood out of the public eye....:sad2:

For pictures to show up nice on a computer, they only have to be 72 DPI. These have obvious pixelation, so I assume they were take again, with a zoom lens from a distance. The rag mag (and the good mags) have unbelievable large lenses, so there is no way to tell how far away these were taken. Could have been a half a mile or longer.
It wouldn't surprise me if we found out that TLC has bought ads on Just Jared. They know they are posting photo's, and prob figure it you are interested in the photo's, you are interested in the show.

Kate getting gas is funny. Didn't she say on one episode how she doesn't do that? Guess the hubby isn't willing to do that task for her anymore.

I bet Kate would agree with you that only 2 looked good :rolleyes1

Kate Gosselin: "Everybody Wants" My Hairstyle!

Kate Gosselin says her spiky bob hairstyle reflects her feisty personality.

"It's my attitude! Everybody wants it. It's work," she tells Entertainment Weekly.

But not everybody can pull it off.

"I have very, very thick hair, so it's not going to work for everybody," she says. "I've seen people come through the book line with thin hair and it just won't work. My hair stylist gets calls from all across the country."

I am growing my bangs out so I can have Kate's hair style! I already have the short spike in the back; in a few months I have the annoying bangs that drive some people on this thread crazy! BRING ON THE FLAMES! :lmao:

I have never seen anyone with that hairstyle. Weird.

On the ice cream issue at WDW . . .

haven't we all as parents had kids get spill food on their clothes? Have we immediately changed their clothes because they will be ruined or it will ruin the day??

Get real, Kate! (I know, may be impossible.)

Kids are messy, spill food and other stuff, and get dirty. Wipe off their faces and hands. Wipe at the clothes and go on with the day until they can be changed. It won't ruin the day or the fun for the kids--maybe for you--but not the kids. (Concede that some kids would have a meltdown.)

And no, WDW cm's should not have run and gotten them clean clothes. The G kids are not the first to get dirty at WDW and won't be the last.

I wasn't suggesting that they should .. I just mentioned that I'm surprised that they didn't, and that's based mainly on posts I've seen on the DIS.

I've read post after post about kids throwing up on Mission:Space, or spilling something, etc. and the CM replacing the shirt. It just falls in line with the Disney standard of customer service excellence... especially IF Disney provided the ice cream and IF Kate wasn't prepared for a spill. (which I still don't believe that she wasn't prepared)

I understand where you are coming from--CM's do alot to make life easier for their guests.

On to something new, anyone else notice how TLC is promoting that even in bad times, they come together for a special event--tonight's episode with Emeril. I wonder how many people will buy the promo and not realize that the episode was probably filmed in March or April??

I just read somewhere that Entertainment Tonight or one of those shows was reporting that Jon and Kate were back together. Not sure under what circumstances they were referencing, though. I didn't see the show.
