Ok I actually read the blog I posted.....that's not how Kate talks at all so who's writing for her?? Does this mean the trip was only five days? Weren't there many more days of pictures than 5 days? (I know multiple pictures could be taken in one day) I'm also surprised she didn't mention the girls day/boys day or any time with the twins.... :confused3

they were in NC longer than 5 days.

maybe that's what she's saying because that's what will be on the show... about the length of time.

maybe someone that's read the book can speak to whether or not that sounds like Kate's writing style?

I can't understand why Kate of all people (someone who I see is a lot like myself in being a planner and such) would have went to Disney without extra clothes. I go into every situation with a "diaper bag" (no more diapers thankfully - DS2 is working hard on the potty training!!!) stocked with extra clothes and such! I would have probably been frustrated with the ice cream as well but would have had a different situation. I personally would have found a bench or table or had the kids sit in the grass and eat it instead of wandering around aimlessly so I could put a big person every couple of kids to help them out and hopefully avoid that as much as possible. If I wouldn't have had extra clothes, I would have brought the disposable bibs from Pampers if I was that worried about their clothes for the day. (I know how everyone feels about bibs :headache: ) But that's just me. I think the funniest part was in the interview when she was asked if she over reacted and said no. I think in her explanation she was trying to say she knew it was going to be a bigger and bigger problem if she couldn't collect the ice cream (more kids getting messy and sticky) than the over reacting about saying her child was "ruined". JMHO - take it for what it's worth!

I don't know why Kate of all people thought that in giving the kids ice cream that someone, if not all of them, would wind up wearing it! :confused3

Disney + July+ 3 year old + ice cream =

I think we ALL know the answer to that one even before the famous Kate meltdown. I personally didn't like her chooce of words. "She's ruined!" Give me a break lady!

I wasn't under the impression that she didn't have extra clothes at Disney. I was under the impression she hadn't carried in a change of clothes for 8 kids into the park. She (speaking as a mother) prob had a change of underclothes, or diapers, and jackets (I can't remember their ages) but full clothing changes for 8 is a bunch. I imagine she was upset, knowing they were going to be taping and the kids were stickey and messy. The kids were eating the icecream in a roped off area, with characters. I didn't get the idea that Kate knew they were all going ot be given ice cream, or she might have bibbed them. I didn't see any chairs or tables. But that's just my take on it.

Maybe she writes differently than she talks?
Maybe without an audience, she's more at ease? Bringing a personal experience into this..sorry, but my daughter is soft spoken (unlike Kate LOL) but her journeling is wonderful and right out there.

I didn't take it literally..I assumed she was upset, and meant her clothes. I never thought she meant her child was ruined. Personally, if I had all those kids crying for ice cream and pulling at me, I would have jumped over the rope and ran as fast I could to get out of there LOL!

I can't believe people would call this animal cruelty. I have said similar things about my kids & dog. I think he was trying to imply, more than anything, that the dogs are very tolerant and love to rough house with the kids - not that they actually abuse them. People are really looking for anything to find fault with this family.

I agree. I am not fans of the family, but I never for a second considered Jon was speaking literally. Anyone that grew up with a dog (or has a dog with kids) knows what he was talking about.

That is just crazy that people would try and claim animal cruelty. :confused3

she has to. there's no way you can write "um" in that many times and it be readable. :upsidedow

and there's also a chance she's "writing" her blog the same way she "wrote" her book.

I think "her blog" is obviously not her, as I said a while back. Who cares I guess? Reality? Whatever!
They have been photographed at the beach from May 26th until June 5th I think. They have probably been there since the 23rd or 24th of May. Are they home yet?

LOL at the umms.

I agree with your thinking - maybe Beth's still involved??

I haven't read Kate's first book so I don't know if it's the same as the book. The second book I read in about ten minutes one night at Walmart but there wasn't much there to compare to a blog - all pictures.

I'm sure she had extra clothes at the hotel but why wouldn't you bring a change or two or all of them with you? I can't tell you how many diapers have leaked, ketchup's spilled, whatever have you while we were at Disney. Someone could have carried a backpack with "extras" in it- just saying what I would do and seems strange for Kate as a planner (or at least how I think of Kate). I saw they were with the princesses when they had the ice cream - a good time to turn it into "ice cream (instead of tea) with the princesses". Everyone grab their bowl and sit down by a princess (not only good because they're all sitting, but a cute photo op! :goodvibes ). Just saying what I think I would have done in that situation personally....we all know what Kate did.

Agreed! I'm glad the HSBC is working with him and getting it all taken care of quickly and respectfully. That's great.

we have a bag like that with us now, and my DD is 7. She gets it in her head that she wants and itsakadoozie, and within a minute it's dripping EVERYWHERE. LOLOL ... Kate had been to WDW before, and she's a planner. Maybe she did have a backpack full of stuff and the episode was edited to reflect what we saw, and not what happened.

What I've always thought was interesting about the episode is that we all know how awesome Disney customer service is. I'm surprised that there wasn't a CM getting the children clean clothes.. from a store. And again, maybe they did, and we didn't see it. I have a feeling a lot went on in that particular segment that wasn't seen.

The animal abuse complaint is just stupid, but it's going to go with the territory these days.

About the blog...she just had to get "it's all for the kids" in there! Is there a drinking game yet? I think she says that just to grate on people's nerves.

She wanted to be famous and the p-people are a part of that. Be careful what you wish for!

IMO, When people write letters or journal, they leave out the ums. Some people have accents, yet when they sing, they are gone. Some people stutter and yet there is no stuttering in their singing or their writing. Why would we expect to see her writing be how she talks? I see no umms or stuttering in any of these dis posts.

Bring a change or two for 8 kids to the park? I didn't even bring them for 3 kids LOL, other than diapers and jackets. Of course my kids were only being photographed for us, not the world.

I agree, I think Kate would have been happier if she had planned the ice cream. I think it would have had a different ending. I can't remember, for those who just watched it, did it look like Kate expected her little kids to be handed their own ice cream?

I have to say, you guys appear to be a lot calmer than I was, when my kids turned into messes (and I only had three) at the begining of the day. But then, I was a young mother, maybe that had something to do with it. I'm a lot calmer with my grands. I don't care what they spill on themselves, and I still don't drag stuff into the parks with us.

agreed... I said what I did mainly for the joke factor, since (IMO) Kate really isn't a very good public speaker.

I've never considered myself to be calm, LOL .. just prepared. The outfits I pack as a replacement never took up that much room. I always had a t-shirt, lightweight cotton pair of shorts (as opposed to denim or khaki, that are bulky), and underwear .. folded flat and put in a ziploc with the air squeezed out. It took up just a little space and weighed almost nothing.

Maybe she just needs to get herself some teleprompters?:confused3;)

Wonder if she changes one outfit if she changes them all so they match?

That's probably what upset her. She probably had it planned what they would wear for the picture and then to change one outfit, it wouldn't match.

I was in Hoboken today to see my Doctor and after I walked over to the Cake Boss bakery. Two of the sisters were in the store and they were talking about the show with some girls who traveled a bit to see them. When one was checking me out I joked around that now they have to be careful what they do in their free time because otherwise they may end up like J&K with the paparazzi chasing them everywhere. They told me they are such a large group that are such a large group, they keep each other grounded,

Then the other one was saying that they tape them all week and all they show is them fighting and not the fun stuff they do. And I sarcastically said well who wants to see friendly happy stuff when they can show drama.

There was a sign on the door saying they would be taping in there, but I did not see any cameras around.
