That story about your son is cute. :flower3:
I had a similar experience yesterday. (not really, LOL) Was returning something to Old navy with DD and forgot tocheck the car locks until I was too far from the car so I handed the keys to DD (15) and asked her to go make sure it was locked. She walked and walked and I thought she was going to go all the way back up to the car so I yelled, "Just stop and do it from there!" And she did and turned around and "OK, Kate.":rotfl:
Uh, yeah, I seem to have a Kate moment like that every day...hmm.
If any little kid runs up to me and comments like that I may *thud smilie inserted here*

Thanks! It had me cracking up this morning!

I think we all have "Kate" moments - some of us just more than others! I'd gladly take the spotlight off Kate if she'd like to share. I'm not the nicest person in the world all the time and I could use a free trip to Disney! :goodvibes

How cute! :goodvibes

I believe they were already filming for season 5 when the season 4 finale ended? Madge would know.

Thank you! :goodvibes

I thought the same - madge will know! :rotfl: I think she's working on writing the J&K bible/timeline book.

Was this the first time J&K had a child sit between them OR do they do that often?

I was concerned about no helmuts on the kiddos while riding their bikes or on that motorized bike Cara was driving around.
Why did Jon pick the week of Kate's bday to go to Utah?

They occassionaly have a child do the "interview" with them but IMO it's few and few between.

I said the same about the helmet in the little cart thing. DH and I actually "discussed" that because he said he wouldn't make them wear a helmet either. :headache:

No one really knows why Jon was gone that week....it's speculated that he was out of town because it's Kate's birthday and he didn't want to be around. No one really knows.

That's exactly how I feel! I can't help but watch...

Me too!

I'm not a genius when it comes to math, but something doesn't add up right. If the show is celebrating it's 100the episode next week in only a few seasons, how many hours have the children been in front of the camera. Didn't TLC say they only shoot 2 days a week? It just doesn't seem right to me.:confused3

I thought I heard on the "viewers questions answered" (I think that was the name of it) that it "adveraged" (that was Kate's word) to 2-3 hours a day two or three days a week. Now they don't film "year 'round" so I'm guessing the filming weeks are more than just two or three hours a day. It's a lot of work to get all of those people in one place at one time (crew) so I'm guessing they're going to do as much as they can in a day. Just an example, they filmed the entire way to Disney (or at various parts on the drive down) and that was more than a couple of hours. I'm sure they spent more than a couple of hours actually in the parks at Disney so that was probably a "long" day for them filming.

But then the world would be a very boring place if we all held the same points of view! :)

So very true! :goodvibes

And each show is usually a 1/2 hour a week. Can you show us the incorrect math?
Sounds to me like they have shot 50 hours worth of shows (100 shows, half an hour each) in a couple of years (of course they shot more, to use what is good..but it still makes sense if they film twice a week). If they only filmed 25 weeks, that would be an hour a week of good film. Is my math wrong?

The Duggars have said if all goes well, it takes 8-10 hours of film to have 1/2 hour of final footage. They would have to shoot continuously for an episode, it's not like they could split the same outing/adventure/outfits into multiple days. I can't imagine all the set up, take down, redos, etc. When you see footage of them BEING filmed it's amazing how intrusive the cameras and mics are. I like to imagine someone 10-12 feet away shooting with a camcorder! They are IN their faces; and that stuff is big.

Justjared, has some new bikini shots up. Kate is sporting a black one this time. The nanny is in one of the shots, I am not sure who she is. I think it was posted here she is the daughter of someone? Well, I must say I feel a little bad for the girl who is the nanny. She is in her bikini next to Kate , it is not the most flattering picture of the nanny . I bet she would have worn a t shirt over her suit if she knew she was going to be plasterd everywhere. I am not criticizing the nanny, I would not a picture of myself in bathing suit out for the world to see.

Kate looks amazing...8 kids and wearing a bikini!! :thumbsup2

Where are they? I didn't notice if their location was stated on JustJared.

The black bikini is much more flattering than the orange one. She looks great however why do they never catch her smiling?

Everyone keeps saying that Kate looks so great in her bikini and I agree but I really don't think she should be wearing it. I can still see where her stomach was big, is it just me. It looks like she has a smile on her stomach. I know I am being picky but she is wearing a suit for the world to see and even though she looks good she is still not that great in her stomach. Just my thought on the subject.

ok, I take back what I said. She looks a lot better in the black swimsuit. It must have been the orange one that made her look bad

That is just being silly. I am :rotfl: at that one.
I don't understand. What are you laughing at? I posted how it is possible to get a half hour show shot in two days. Someone said the math is wrong and she didn't think it could be done. They prob have this down pat by now. What was silly?

I knew this was going to be taken the wrong way. It not big, but you can still see the flab, does that make sense? Yes she looks great for having 8 kids and a tummy tuck but I guess I feel like you should only wear a bikini if your body is close to perfect and there is still some flab. Can no one else see it? It seems very very clear to me. It kind of hangs over and there is nothing for it to hang over. I guess I feel like you should have a flat stomach to wear something like that. Just me.

:rotfl:I am pretty sure Kate thinks she looks great in her bikini, she knows she is going to be photographed. Her earrings are a tad much for a day at the beach. The nanny is not as savy as Kate with regards to pictures . Well Kate was very fortunate to get the tummy tuck there are plenty of moms that work out like crazy and after one child their tummies still have loose skin. Guess all of this craziness is worth it, she has a tightly pulled tummy, an oddly placed belly button.

When someone has a lot of confidence, something like a c-section scar or a tummy tuck won't bother them. I have a friend who is very over weight, but is not upset with her body. She wears a small bathing suit.
The doc had told her she would have scars. I thought she said she woul dwear them proudly..unless that is something I read here at the time LOL! Get's hard to tell what came from where without cliff notes.

I think that is great for your friend that she feels comfortable with herself and if she wants to walk around naked in her own home or back yard that is great but I don't think she should be wearing a small 2 bikini out in public. I can not stand it when I go to the beach and there are all these huge people walking around in small bikini's. I don't care to see all of that and I am pretty sure most people don't want to see that either.

Anyway, that was not really my point on when I posted it. Kate does look great and I am happy for her. I think it is great that she has gone to the extra effort to look her best. I just think that she has some flaws and she is showing them off. That is all. I think she would have looked better in a tankini(SP?)

And Kate has said they shoot 2-3 hours a day two or three days a week, (which is 4 - 9 hours a week) so it sounds like they are saying the same thing. A little longer on the Duggers (and they have more than twice the family size, a little less on the Gosselins). No argument here. Prob depends what and where they are shooting. I don't see where there is a problem with the math, even if they shoot for part of the year, they can easily fit in 40 episodes (20 hours).

I saw that in your next post, you said you took it back from seeing the pic's of the black bikini. I just wanted to say that if I had a body like hers, I'd feel perfectly fine wearing either of those bikini's. I think she looks good in both, and honestly, as long as she's fine with it, it really doesn't matter if we approve or not.

Seriously, why is it so hard to believe that they only shoot an AVERAGE 2-3 hours a day a few days a week. That seems about right to me :confused3

Look at last nights episode when Kate and Mady were in San Diego. They went to the spa for mani/pedis, had lunch and hit a souvenir shop. Could easily be done in a few hours....and they didn't film the rest of the vacation.

Back home, Jon gave the kids lunch, they were playing outside awhile and then they went for a walk. Alexis fell, Jon took her to the doctor they came back and that was pretty much the end of the episode. Seemed like an afternoons worth of footage to me :confused3

Even the cake event didn't seem like much filming to me. Again, except for the travel time (in which they didn't really film) it didn't seem like more than a few hours of time between being at the house and then the time at Charm City?

Except for some of the more "staged" events, I just don't see why it is so hard to believe that the kids are really only on camera a few days a week? Definitely doesn't seem like 24/7 to me and the math makes perfect sense ;)

I think it was easy to tell last night that they were there longer than 3 hours. On the episode where Jon is home with the kids they were def. there longer than 3 hours IMO.

Also, Kate's birthday episode, it took 2 hours to get to Baltimore, so they were being taped longer than 2-3 hours that day also.

Well, since my girlfriend feels good about herself, I'm not going to be the one to tell her she's too heavy for a bikini. They sell them in her size, all the important parts are covered, and she feels good wearing it. She has had a lot of kidney problems, and she has blown up because of it, so I'm glad she still feels good about herself.
I see very heavy men on cruises in speedo's. At least I think they are there somewhere, the speedo's that is. I've also seen some really thin people wearing next to nothing and some really old ladies all wrinkled up. I've also seen a lot of c-section scars in my older age. Oh well, to each their own. They think they look good so who cares. I can just look away if I don't want to look at them. Usually thought I think to myself, man I wish I had that confidence, instead of being tucked in a skirted suit to hide my bum.

I agree, Kate has some flaws. I seldom see someone in a suit that doesn't. Maybe she just didn't care about the camera's and wore what she wanted to. I wish I looked as good. A full piece would have hidden the flaws, as well as takini, you are right, but I always figure if it doesn't bother the wearer, why should I care.

"In a 2006 study, researchers at Wake Forest University may have solved the question as to why many men and women still tan despite being aware of the dangers. These tanorexics, or people who obsessively tan, may have an addiction to the UV rays of tanning beds, even experiencing a 'high', much like a drug addiction."

My self being very aware of the deadly consequences of skin cancer, I really question Kate's tanning. I am sure people will procalim it is a spray on, none the less there are probably some people out there who see Kate as a role model and will try to be as tan as she. I would think as a mother and a nurse her obsessive tanning is not an example she would want to set for her children. You do not have to be faired skin to get skin cancer.

I'm pretty sure it's spray on (it looks like it-you can tell when it's wearing down and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that she does it twice a month-if that's the case there's no way it's not spray,) and I don't know, I mean anyone else in the world is able to make the decision to not tan, tan and if they look at Kate as a role model, or even her kids, she's spray tanning, which is a choice to anyone else.
