It is here at 10:30 also. I am not sure why I thought 9. I hope I can stay awake. Not that it is not going to repeat 500 times. I remember the post where you put the times down.

Yeah I don't think I'll make it that long either....although we have our t-ball team party tomorrow and I'm making baseball cupcakes tonight so if I'm still struggling through them you can bet J&K will be on....that will be my motivation if I'm still up :thumbsup2

If the house was a write off that would mean it was a business, is that right? So that would mean that they are working in that house. Here is the thing though, can you just say the parents are working or would it include the whole family?
I really wonder what is going to happen next with this investigation. They say they have gotten complaints and that is why they are investigating. So do you think they have to investigate because of the complaint or they got the complaint and instead of ignoring it they decided to look into it.

I read they received a written complaint and they have to investigate all complaints.
I do believe that Jon and Kate have started at least one business for tax purposes. Their tax burden would be huge and they have so many things that they can write off with regard to the show, books, travel. Many people own their home via their business. I am sure some people here are familar with developers who seem to go bankrupt and then poof have a brand new home. They can obtain a federal tax number and this essentially gives them a fresh start. That is off subject just trying to show an example of how that works. Of course today with the economy being what it is, getting any type of loan is more difficult. I don't think Kate and Jon needed to use a business because of past credit issues, it would be to lower their burden. If they do get a divorce, I can't even begin to imagiine hw complicated that will be just in terms of finances. The lawyer bills will be HUGE!!!!

That was what I was wondering, if they HAD to investigate or if they were doing out of real concern.
I would not want to see who that divorce will go. The splitting of everything is probably going to be the biggest pain and lots of billable hours.

I know, I have to be good because of all the baby weight! Yuck. I have unfortuantly found the giant cheesecake that is sold at public. It is a giant piece of cheesecake dipped in chocolate with a chocolate dipped strawberry on top. I have had a few to many of those after the baby.:rolleyes1

I've seen those in the case at Publix but haven't tried them...I'm guessing it's probably good that I haven't? :goodvibes

I think that Jodi, Kevin, Julie, Paul Petersen and GWOP have been bombarding them with complaints so they decided to look into it.

There is nothing wrong with looking into it. I think it's a good thing and is in the best interest of the kids to check it out....really check it out.

Have been busy all day today. What is this investigation everyone is talking about???!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is the best cheesecake I have ever had. It is addicting!!! I bought the new Wii active to try and get in shape and my husband walked in with one last night for me. It was sweet but I just though I will need to work out for an extra hour today!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

But do you think they are really going to check it out or are they just doing it because they have to?

I feel like they are doing it b/c they have to. I'll bet the conclusion is that no laws are being violated...but of course that is b/c there are no laws governing reality tv, only actors with scripts.

OMG, I laughed so hard the first 4 minutes on The Soup was J&K, I love the Soup. Y'all have to watch it they rerun it all weekend or it will be on youtube it was really sad and funny at the same time!!! My husband looked up from his computer and even he laughed.
Stop tempting me with the cupcakes and cheese cakes. Publix has the best bakery. I love my Publix baker he is so cute he looks like the Pillsbury dough boy, I want to squeeze his cheeks!

I am so mad I missed the soup. I just noticed what time it wasand told my husband to turn the channel. I always watch the soup. I will have to catch it later.

For those who are hoping that this is a violation of child labor laws, what are you hoping it accomplishes?

I have news for you, it won't stop the show. Say they have less hours to film a day, now instead of filming 3 days a week, they are filming 4 to get enough footage. Be careful what you wish for.

According to this article http://www.kcra.com/entertainment/19602022/detail.html :

"Jon & Kate Plus 8" tapes off and on throughout the year, averaging two to three hours a day, two to three days a week, Goldberg said.

and

"Child labor laws vary by state. Pennsylvania law permits kids who are at least 7 to work in the entertainment industry, as long as a permit is obtained and certain rules are followed. Kids can't generally work after 11:30 p.m., for example, or perform any place that serves alcohol.

The law allows performers younger than 7 to have "temporary employment ... in the production of a motion picture," and spend up to eight hours a day and 44 hours a week on set as long as their "educational instruction, supervision, health and welfare" needs are being met."

Just for the record I do not care if they find a violation. I think the younger kids enjoy it. They way they interact with the camera and the crew is very cute. I feel like that is the stability in their life. I know it is sad but true

I agree, I think the younger kids do enjoy it. I think the older kids like it sometimes, other times not. I think it may be because they are in school and have to deal with what their schoolmates say.

I hope after this season, they do stop the show. Once they are all in full time school, there won't be much to film.

But I would hope they would do a yearly special as an update on how they are doing. Sort of like how ABC always had an update on the Dilley 6 every year.

Just curious, why do you hope they stop the show?

I'm not hoping for a violation. I'm hoping this new entertainment venue will be regulated in regards to the best interest of the children being filmed for profit. I want a voice for the voiceless.

They are filming 40 episodes this season. A huge amount for any tv show. Huge.

Because then I hope Kate has all her ducks in a row, gets rid of Jon and can get the p-people off her back so they can move on as a family. ;)
