Star Magazine! How could she! That's a rag mag! ;)

Seriously though, you knew this was going to happen. They are going to be coming out of the woodwork now.

People Magazine seems to always go with Kate.
US Magazine has their "sources"
Star Magazine has Jon's Mom

Each Magazine is taking a side it seems.

Unless and until Beth Carson has her own press conference, I will give her credit for staying out of this.

I don't see why you keep talking shots at my views on the tabloid. If you wanna believe there "stories" That is up to you. but no need to be snarky to me with the little winky icon

I'm not taking a shot at you. There are many on here that don't want to believe the magazines, or believe one story and not the other. I'm joking around, sorry you are offended.

To me, it's all very sad. But really this boils down to one thing... Jon acted poorly while being still married. If you fall out of love, get a divorce don't run around like a spoiled little brat. Yep, that's my view. Worth all of two cents.

Haven't all of Jon's sides been told through Star??? Do you think Jon's getting money for having people talk "exclusively" to them?? (kind of like a "referral fee" or "finder's fee")

Does anyone have a link to the US Weekly (I think that's what it was) scans from the article about the $5/day allowance? I know one link was posted here but I couldn't get the pages to enlarge so I could read it. TIA!:goodvibes

I think this is the one:

If you look around the website she has all the mags from this week scanned.

I said I would only lurk,
but I just saw this during my lunch break.
Huge breaking news story on the AP

I'm sure TLC has their donkey butts covered, but you never know.

Here is another link to the investigation:

I honestly think TLC is complying with the law, because there is no law for reality show "actors". I wonder if PA even has a law for child actors in sitcoms or movies. Anyone know?

Great news! :thumbsup2 Even if nothing comes of it, at least someone is finally looking into what's best for the children - not just Jon & Kate..:goodvibes

An interesting note about the picture outside the tanning salon, is that her and her bodygaurd parked asfar away as possible and had to walk the whole lot to get to the building. I don't remember where I saw the vidoe tape of it, thought it might have been on the season opener, but I thought that was weird.

3rd week in a row the Gosselins are in People. Enough already. What is there left to say? Why am I here? :lmao:

Exactly!....This discussion sometimes gets dangerously close to the whole SAHM/ working mom debate....and there is no right or wrong answer in that issue.
I myself am a SAHM but I would fight for the right for every woman to work outside the home if they want to...Sometimes I think this thread is going back to the dark ages.:rolleyes1
So Kate works "away"....So What!!!!.....So do many many mothers....it doesn't mean the kids are damaged.
Kate knows her time might not last...she is making the money whilst she can...in 5 or 10 years noone will remember who she was.

And my DH works away monday to friday.....So i suppose we better save up for the councilling the kids will need...(to whoever said that was wrong;))

And guess what.....He works away so we can all have a better life...A better lhouse...Disney trips..(we live in the uk so they cost a lot)...private schools for the kids....But thats OUR choice.....

But dh could get a lower paid job closer to home...we could live in a shack...never take the kids anywhere...no disney EVER....pull them out of the schools they love...and all live in cramped..rough area...happily together.
Well together after 7pm anyway;)...oh but I'd have to work as well...Oh well....yes I can see DH moving closer home to work would be so much better.:confused3

If you are referring to my post, my issue is not that she works away from home. It's that she does it because she says she 'has' to, when clearly she is doing it to maintain a certain standard of living. As I said I would have more respect for her if she just came out and said she wanted these nice things, instead of playing the victim and acting like she 'has' to do this to just get by.

I actually work too... and yes travel (although only a few weeks a year, well spread apart from each other). I have left dh home with the kids while going to Africa, the UK, etc. However, this is something both dh and I agreed to together. And if there ever came a point where it became a stress on our marriage, believe me it would stop that day.

As far as working for a better life... we all do that to some extent. We want to give our family the best we can. In Kate's case though, I believe it has taken a life of it's own. There is a difference between wanting to live in a nice home, wanting to provide extras to your family, and wanting it all where nothing is ever enough and you are constantly looking for more.

Dh was raised by that kind of parent, where he always needed more and that became the priority over family and YES it has completely hampered his relationship with his kids and caused a lot of issues between them. I was raised by two working parents who both travelled and worked to provide us a nice lifestyle and things, but made family the absolute priority and we are incredibly close.

And again while I think Kate's motives began with the absolute best of intentions, my opininion is that she got too caught up now in the material things and has lost track of why she originally started doing this.

Good explanation, and great analysis. :thumbsup2

Jon & Kate's faces are plastered EVERYWHERE! Even I'm getting tired of seeing them. I can only imagine what this is doing to their family, it certainly can't be helping matters any, can it???

In the preview of Kate and Mady in CA at the spa, they both look so sad and forlorn. I don't know: as much as I dislike Kate at times, I kind of think that Jon is the fed up one who has quit trying.

Not taking any blame off of Kate, because she's no angel, I'm sure of that. But, I don't know, it just seems like Jon is the one who has checked out. Maybe because of Deanna? :confused3 Who knows. Maybe he's just tired of trying? :confused3 Who knows. Jon and Kate know. I think all of this will come out in the wash eventually, though.

:thumbsup2
Don't know if this has been posted yet:

NEVERMIND. I SEE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED

:thumbsup2
My 2 cents for what it is worth regarding tv show filming, my neighbor was on "It's me or the dog" last fall, it is a show on Animal Planet. Well they were here 7 days a week from 8am till 10pm filming. They would reshoot, reshoot, reshoot it was so much fun to watch and my neighbor loved being on the show and loved catered lunches and craft services all day. But, one week was enough for her and her fmaily,:thumbsup2

there was a poster in thread 2 (I think? it might have been thread 3) that knew a little about the child actor vs. reality acting laws. I can't remember who it is, though.

I think there's a reason that the Gosselins chose to stay in Pennsylvania or considered a move to North Carolina. I don't think either of those states have any restrictions, or they aren't as strict as other states. But I'm not even close to sure about that - I know there's a connection to where they live vs. where they work/film the show and that's it.

Does anyone here think/feel that there should be no regulation in the filming of children for tv? Reality is a relatively new genre, and likely no laws currently that address it. Should there be laws?

I think it should be limited to after school or weekends only. The kids should have a say if they want to be filmed and what they wanted filmed. If there not a law already I think that 20-25% should be put in a savings account for the kids when they turn 18

isn't that the truth?! she's like Ft. Knox!

I would think that the TLC people (camera crew, Jen Stocks, etc) have signed confidentiality agreements, even if they're no longer with the show.

other than Kate's brother, there's nothing been said from Kate's family.

we'll see how long that all lasts. I wonder if eventually someone will make an offer they can't refuse. :upsidedow
